Saint Lucia is the ultimate honeymoon destination. It has the most beautiful nature and is the absolute highlight in the middle of the Caribbean. There is also plenty to do for backpackers and traveling families. In this video I show you why every traveler should visit Saint Lucia at least once: it's just a place that can hardly be beat!

After Saint Lucia we visit many more gems in the Caribbean. Whether they will match with Saint Lucia remains to be seen! With the best views of the gigantic pitons, overnight stays in tree houses in the middle of the jungle and the most beautiful snow-white beaches, Saint Lucia is high on the list of the most beautiful islands in the world. We sleep in Soufrière, visit the Diamond Waterfalls, hike the Tet Paul Nature Trail and visit the beaches Anse Chastanet, Sugar Beach and Jalousie Plantation Beach. From the west, we drive our small jeep through the rainforest to the south and east, before relaxing at an all-inclusive resort in the north.

We ARRIVED In PARADISE | Relaxing In Martinique | Ep. 49

It feels like living in paradise in Martinique! We are anchored in the beautiful blue water in the bay of Saint Anne close to the beach of the Club med resort.

After more than 30 days on the water, we were happy to set foot on land again so we rented a car to go explore the island.
One of the highlights in Martinique is the Jardin de balata. The Garden is built around a typical creole house and is the result of a perfect alchemy between a «back-to-childhood» experience and a one-of-a-kind artist. The history of this garden is a beautiful story that revolves around its creator and the tree it was named after. The garden contains about 3,000 varieties of tropical plants from around the world, including 300 types of palm trees. Part of the visit to Balata's garden can be done by walking above the giant bamboos among the mahogany trees, on bridges and suspended walkways around 15 meters high.

After our visit to the garden, we drove further up the mountain, deeper into the tropical forest to visit another beautiful spot: Le Cascade du Saut du gendarme. After a short walk and crossing a small stream we reached this beautiful waterfall of about 10 meters high alongside a nice picnic spot.

We celebrated Sven's Birthday together with some friends who made an amazing surprise.

We spent another few days relaxing after our ocean crossing and enjoying the good life in Martinique. Since all it took to behold the beautiful underwater world was to jump of the boat we went snorkelling every day. We enjoyed the stunning sunsets and the pleasant temperature here.

Thank you for watching and join us again next week for our sailing trip to some of the other bays where we discover more of Martinique’s beauty.

Martinique island, Caribbean | Beaches, resorts, places, nature | Video 4k | Martinique what to see

Martinique island, Caribbean. For those beach lovers who love to combine sunbathing and swimming with tasting real overseas rum and coffee and respect these drinks, love bright colorful festivals - welcome to the island of Martinique. Washed by the waters of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic, the island of Martinique in a 4k drone video view opens in all its beauty: breathtaking mountain landscapes and rivers with waterfalls, dense forests and picturesque valleys, reef bays and amazing colonial-style settlements.

general information
Martinique is located in the central part of the Lesser Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean Sea and is the third largest island of the archipelago, from the north and east the island is washed by the Atlantic Ocean, belongs to the overseas department of France. It borders on Barbados in the southeast and Dominica in the northwest. The territory of Martinique is about 1130 square kilometers, the number of residents is almost four hundred thousand people.
The island has a mountainous relief and is composed of volcanic rocks: the coast is heavily indented with bays, bays, the entrance to which is blocked by coral reefs. The dimensions of Martinique are 60 by 27 km, the highest point of the island is the Mont Pele volcano (Bald Mountain).
Today Martinique is part of France as one of the 27 regions of the country, with a flourishing tourism, and with the world's production of rum and coffee.

The beaches of Martinique
The beaches of the island in its different parts differ from each other: in the north these are beaches with black volcanic sand, in the southern part there is a sandy coastal strip of snow-white beaches.
Among the best beaches in Martinique stand out:
- Grand Anse - de - Salines near the city of Saint - Anne;
- Anse Dufour with white and golden sand in the southwest;
- Anse Mitan;
- Anse Noir;
- Anse Culevre in the north of the island;
- Anse Cor - de - Garde in the south and others.
The eastern beaches of Martinique, taking on the waves of the Atlantic, are an ideal place for windsurfing, in the west of the island there is a gentle and quiet wave.

Nature
Magnificent nature, amazing landscapes of the ocean and coast, coconut palms and a comfortable climate - nature has given a lot of bounties to these paradise places.
The diverse relief of the island contributes to the growth of ferns, jasmine, acacia, eucalyptus and bamboo, palm trees and cacti.
Both the underwater and the terrestrial world of Martinique are rich: beautiful land areas compete with the abundance of the inhabitants of the underwater kingdom.

Main resorts
The entire coastline of the island is one continuous resort. Tourists from France, the USA, Canada like to come here on vacation - comfort, safety and well-maintained infrastructure are at a high level here.
Among the popular places of the island are: Fort-de-Trans Bay, Noir Bay, Dufour, Trabo.

What to see
Relax and see the local attractions on the island - this is the main program of vacationing tourists.
Acquaintance with the island usually begins with an acquaintance with the capital and main city - Fort-de-France. In Martinique, you can relax on a variety of beaches and combine with excursions:
- in the Cathedral of Saint-Louis;
-Botanical garden of Balata;
- visit the ruins of the former city of Saint-Pierre, which in 1902 was covered by a powerful wave of eruption and completely destroyed;
- visit the village of Morne - Rouge;
- visit the Flower Park;
- walk to the waterfalls on the river Alma or along the hiking trail Ruth de la Trace.

Useful information for tourists
For a comfortable stay on the island of Martinique, you can adopt some useful information:
- French laws apply on the island, the official currency is the euro, a Schengen visa is required;
- the official language is French, the tourist communication service is built in English;
- it is better to go on vacation here in the season from December to the end of April (the island is located in a zone of seismic activity);
- upon arrival at the airport, it is better to rent a car right away - taxi prices are simply cosmic, and buses run rarely and not on schedule;
- it is better to change the currency at the airport or exchange offices, cards for payment are accepted everywhere;
- in July you can get to a colorful festival with concerts and processions.

Sailing Saoirse - Exploring magical Martinique ⛵️????

Our time in Martinique was great. We arrived at St Anne's from Dominica and set anchor in the beautiful spacious bay.
'Checking in' on the French islands is super easy. We went ashore and found the little coffee shop that had a small room off to the side, where we went onto a computer, put in all our boat details and crew list, printed out our official document, paid the €3 for the shop owner to stamp and sign it and viola, we were legally in French territory. No immigration or customs officials involved????.
St Anne's is a beautiful little place with a historical church at its center, and 2 little beachfront streets of stores and houses. The residential area expands up the hill from there.
We did a bus ride into Fort-du-France to go to the Decathlon outdoor warehouse type store that didn't disappoint. It's an incredible store that has everything from rollerscates to diving equipment to dingys, fishing, and camping equipment. It was amazing to see. It was also a great way to see a bit more of the island where they have expansive banana plantations and hills of sugar cane as far as the eye can see.
From St Anne's we headed around and into Le Marin, a very crowded anchorage, but it put us closer to the shopping area that has large Leader Price and Carrefour stores, perfect for reprovisioning the yacht. We were also able to get to the fuel jetty to stock up on water and fuel. The water here is some of the least expensive we have experienced in the Caribbean, so that made a nice change.
We then headed up the coast to St. Pierre. What a 'historical' treat. We got to explore the beautiful old town that still shows so much of the original damage caused by the 1902 eruption of Mt Pelee. From the old theater and adjacent prison to the original old cobbled roads, it was a beautiful place to explore.
For Robin's birthday, we headed up the long and winding uphill road???? to the DePazz Rhum Distillery where we got to tour the distillery and adjacent beautiful villa, ending off in the Rhum store. We went in saying that we wouldn't be buying much, but that didn't last when we saw and tasted ???? the amazing selection of rums and rum based  liqueurs that they have on offer.
Martinique was a beautiful stop, with some great memories to and to our ever growing memory bank.

Martinique | In the streets of Fort-de-France - Day 1

If there is one thing I love doing and I do a lot when I am on the road, It is to walk the streets of the places I visit. Its one of the most authentic ways to feel the vibe of places. In this video I will be taking you through my day 1 of walking through the narrow streets of Fort-de-France, having a Sun downer at the Simon Hotel and waiting for the sun to set.

If your visiting Martinique I highly recommend taking sometime to wonder through the narrow streets
