Last week I packed my bags and did what I’ve done the last 3 years, started my year of traveling in my beautiful country of Haiti. Prior to taking this trip, I was warned by just about everyone to stay home after reports of protest and violence surrounding Haiti presidential elections. Like any other diaspora, I was afraid but I question how accurate the news was in their depiction of what was actually happening in Haiti.
After speaking to a few of my friends in Haiti and doing my research on the previous elections, I prayed, pack my bags and headed to my favorite place in the world. During my 5 day stay in Haiti, I utilized my social networks to show my readers Haiti through my lenses. I posted pictures, videos and even answered a few questions to missionaries who were planning trips to Haiti and worried about whether or not they should cancel their trip. : READ MORE:

Located in the northern part of Haiti, Pignon is a quiet little town that attracts adventurous travelers and tourists who like to discover new tastes, as the gastronomy of a region is an important part of their travel experience.
Surrounded by hills and valleys, Pignon boasts several religious temples, a renowned hospital, a good little market (LEA Market distribution), restaurants (e.g. CHALYDATH), well-functioning petrol stations, and so many other services that we won't mention today. We hope that one day the Pignon airstrip will be transformed into a modern airport.

Nous souhaitons qu’un jour que le piste d’atterrissage de Pignon puisse être transformé en un Aéroport moderne.

Life in Pestel follows the rhythm of market days - Wednesdays and Saturdays. Early in the morning, you can watch sailboats coast into the city’s port, loaded up with goods from Miragoâne. As the port workers help boats dock and unload, the sea breeze wakes up the town, calling down farmers from the mountains, who supply the village with fresh fruits and vegetables carried by donkeys in saddle-like baskets woven from hay.
