The Grand Opening of the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre on September 29, 2013, featured the official unveiling by Wayne Gretzky plus Walter Gretzky, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynn and many other celebrities, dignitaries and musical artists. Thousands flocked to the new Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre to celebrate the Grand Opening and participate in this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Prior to Covid Lockdown, we took a drive to Niagara on the Lake to visit the Wayne Gretzky Winery. Wayne Gretzky Winery is also a Distillery & Brewery. They also serve food out in the back adjacent to the skating rink. If you like Wayne Gretzky, the Wayne Gretzky Winery, Brewery & Distillery is well worth a visit.
