Japan Airlines is amongst the best airlines in the world, and this definitely also goes for their Premium Economy. However, their regular Economy Class is so good, that upgrading to Premium Economy might actually not be of good value...

My time in Bangkok was over, and I headed back to the airport to catch a Japan Airlines flight up to Tokyo.
Tonight, I'm flying in Japan Airlines Premium Economy cabin from Suvarnabhumi to Narita on the JAL 787-9.

Japan Airlines 787-9 Premium Economy Boston to Tokyo JL7 (flight review #41)
On December 20, 2018, I flew Japan airlines from Boston to Tokyo on their premium economy product. I would have to admit that the crew on the flight were excellent, and both meals tasted great. I especially loved all the side dishes for the first meal, as you won't get all those other side dishes on other airlines like CX or SQ. The snack bar was also really good, as it offered some variety of snacks that you would not get on other airlines. Overall, it was a pretty good first flight on Japan airlines. I would love to try ANA so that I could compare it to JAL to see if the standards match up.

WELCOME to my 27th flight in 2017. On 18th December, I flew Japan Airlines brand new premium economy from Tokyo Narita (NRT) to Hong Kong (HKG) . The operating aircraft was a Boeing 787-9. The flight was fine and the seat was super comfortable. Unfortunately, as I was upgraded from economy to premium economy on this flight, I was not able to get a window seat, though I should not complain :D
Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific fly to Tokyo Haneda three times a day, and Tokyo Narita six times a day with two via Taipei. Hong Kong Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Hong Kong Express are some other airlines that fly between the cities. Japan Airlines uses B777-200ER to Haneda, and B787-9 to Narita.

Why Scoot Plus is (SOMETIMES!) Worth it: Premium Economy Review
In this video, we will review the premium economy cabin class with Scoot Airlines, known as Scoot Plus on two flights from Sydney to Singapore, with a connection on to Tokyo.
This is a very different experience to a full-service airline in that the premium cabin does not serve any premium food or drinks. However, the size of the seat is almost as large and the comfort levels good for what is a relatively cheap price.
However, whether this is worth the cost or not depends heavily on how you purchase your scoot+ ticket. There are three options that we will discuss in this video:
1. Buy at point of sale (expensive!)
2. Upgrade pre-flight (much cheaper)
3. Upgrade on the flight (cheaper again, but less certain)
We think that this makes it one of the most attainable premium cabin experiences for the average passenger.
Air Canada International Premium Economy Review! | 13 hours!! | Toronto - Tokyo |
This was my last flight of the summer of 2022, and we are off to Tokyo with Air Canada on a 13 hour direct flight from Toronto! We are flying in premium economy, so we'll see if this product is worth it on a long haul flight. One thing I can say for certain is that you won't go hungry on an Air Canada flight! There's plenty of snack to enjoy on your trip!
We also see some of the travel restrictions and protocols which were in place. Most of the restrictions for Canada and Japan in this video have since been relaxed.

Zipair Full-Flat Review
In this video, I’ll take a look at the Business Class experience onboard Zipair courtesy of their full flat seats aboard their Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Founded by Japanese Airlines just 4 years ago, Zipair have executed on a modern take of the budget experience with a fleet of new and really smart looking aircraft. It’s budget, but it’s not tacky unlike so much of what has gone before it.
Overall, I thought they offered excellent value for money and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. The upgrade to the flatbed experience on this trip broadly doubled the flight fee but was money really well spent as you’ll see in the video.
