► WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that, for so long, I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American, and he's actually camera-shy. That's why he's behind the camera most of the time ????

Melbourne, Australia - 4K Ambient Walk

A 4K walking tour through the city of Melbourne.
The CBD is home to retail, financial, legal, administrative, recreational, tourist and entertainment facilities and operates 24 hours a day, serving a wide variety of residents, workers and visitors.
The over-supply of office space in the CBD during the 1990s coupled with the City of Melbourne's Postcode 3000 initiative has led to a resurgence in inner-city living. The CBD's population is currently one of the fastest growing small areas in Australia.
This 4K walking tour takes in many of the lanes and main streets of Melborne CBD.

WALKING AROUND MELBOURNE CITY: During Australia’s Strictest Lockdown 2020 vs 2019

It's fair to say, walking around Melbourne City looks a lot different these days.
In this video, I compare peak hour in October 2020 to peak hour in October 2019.
Exactly 1 year apart.
Two moments in time, documented.

When our beautiful city is thriving again, I hope we can look back on these challenging times and reflect.

A Walk Through Melbourne // Southern Cross to Melbourne Central!

Join me on a stroll through Melbourne's Central Business District, watching lots of trams and trains and a few other things along the way. We start at about 3:45pm on the afternoon of Wednesday 25th of January 2023. It's a warm summer afternoon but not too hot - about 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit). We get off a train at Southern Cross station, then walk south along Spencer Street, east up Flinders Street (catching a W class tram part of the way), north up Elizabeth Street, east along Collins Street, and north up Swanston Street - the busiest tram corridor in the world. Finally we drop down into Melbourne Central station.

This is obviously a very long-form video and probably won't be to everyone's taste, but the aim of this kind of thing is to capture a snapshot of the city at this particular moment in time, and will hopefully be even more interesting in the future. I enjoy making this kind of video, and will hopefully do some more in the future!

Chinatown Melbourne Info:
Chinatown (Chinese: 墨爾本華埠) is an ethnic enclave in the Central Business District (CBD) of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Centred at the eastern end of Little Bourke Street, it extends between the corners of Swanston and Spring Streets, and consists of numerous laneways, alleys and arcades. Established in the 1850s during the Victorian gold rush, it is notable for being the longest continuous Chinese settlement in the Western World and the oldest Chinatown in the Southern Hemisphere.

Melbourne's Chinatown has played an important role in establishing the culture of Chinese immigrants in Australia and is still home to many Chinese restaurants, cultural venues, businesses and places of worship. Today, Melbourne's Chinatown is a major tourist attraction, known for its architectural heritage, annual festivals and cuisines of Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Indian, Malaysian, Vietnamese and Korean origins.

Beyond Chinatown and the CBD, Melbourne's Chinese community is well-represented in other areas of the city, such as Box Hill and Glen Waverley. Chinatown is home to the Chinese Museum.

Flinders Street Info:
Flinders Street is a notable street in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Running roughly parallel to the Yarra River, Flinders Street forms the southern edge of the Hoddle Grid. It is exactly 1 mi (1.609 km) in length and one and a half chains (99 ft, 30 m) in width. It is named for the explorer Matthew Flinders, erroneously credited with discovering Port Phillip at the time of its naming. It extends eastwards as far as Spring Street and the Treasury Gardens and westwards past Batman's Hill to the Melbourne Docklands. As the closest street to the river, Flinders Street serviced Melbourne's original river port. Customs House, now the site for Victoria's Immigration Museum, is on Flinders Street.

The street is home to Flinders Street station, the central station in Melbourne's suburban rail network. Tram routes 70 and 75, as well as the City Circle route, run along Flinders Street, and the Flinders Street Viaduct runs parallel to the street, linking the city's two major railway stations.

Other landmarks on Flinders Street include Federation Square, St Paul's Cathedral, Young and Jackson Hotel, the Banana Alley Vaults, the old Herald and Weekly Times building, Melbourne Aquarium and Batman Park, which adjoins the Yarra River. It was once home to the Melbourne Fish Market, an ornate building constructed in 1890, covering 23,000 square metres, and of similar design to Flinders Street Station. The market was demolished between 1958 and 1960 after which the site became a public carpark. The site is now home to the three towers of the Northbank Place complex which includes office space, residential apartments, retail outlets and a multi-level carpark.

Filmed using:
Camera: Osmo Pocket -

Fitzroy Melbourne Info:
Fitzroy is an inner-city suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 3 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District in the local government area of the City of Yarra. At the 2016 Census, Fitzroy had a population of 10,445. Planned as Melbourne's first suburbs in 1839, it was later also one of the city's first areas to gain municipal status, in 1858. It occupies Melbourne's smallest and most densely populated suburban area, just 100 ha.

Fitzroy is known throughout Australia for its street art, music scene and culture of bohemianism, and is the main home of Melbourne's Fringe Festival. Its commercial heart is Brunswick Street, one of Melbourne's major retail, culinary, and nightlife strips. Long associated with the working class, Fitzroy has undergone waves of urban renewal and gentrification since the 1980s and today is inhabited by a wide variety of socio-economic groups, featuring both some of the most expensive rents in Melbourne and one of its largest public housing complexes, Atherton Gardens.

Its built environment is diverse and features some of the finest examples of Victorian-era architecture in Melbourne. Much of the suburb is covered by a historic preservation precinct, with many individual buildings and streetscapes covered by Heritage Overlays.[4] The most recent changes to Fitzroy are mandated by the Melbourne 2030 Metropolitan Strategy, in which both Brunswick Street and nearby Smith Street are designated for redevelopment as Activity centres.

It was named after Sir Charles Augustus FitzRoy, the Governor of New South Wales from 1846 to 1855.[5] It is bordered by Alexandra Parade (north), Victoria Parade (south), Smith Street (east) and Nicholson Street.
