Visit Lucca - 5 Things You Will Love & Hate About Lucca, Italy

Lucca, Italy is a true Tuscan gem. A walled city where you can literally take the whole family onto the walls, run on them, bike on them, picnic on them and have a great time. The city's winding streets can be a bit confusing on your first day but by the end of your stay you will know them like the back of your hand. Lucca, Italia does have some things you may not like though and this video goes through the best and the worst of Lucca, Italy.

Visit Italy: Five Things You Will Love & Hate about Italy

Italy is an amazing place to visit and there will be memories you will take back from your visit that will last a lifetime, some good... some not so good :) But here are the five things you will hate about your trip to Italy and five things you will love about your trip to Italy.
Five Hates:
1. Yourself! That being the tourists. Italy gets tons of tourists so leads to long lines and high prices, but there is a reason all the tourists come to visit, its a great place.
2. Beggers/pickpockets
3. The Toilets: you will find more not so clean toilets then pleasurable ones my friends so be prepared.
4. They do not speak English: in the tourist industry they do but in general the level of English is not as high as say Germany or Portugal. (though the lack of English will not stop them from communicating with you :)
5. Crossing the Road/Drivers: The streets are crazy so be prepared for some hair raising experiences.

Top Five Loves.
1. The Super Friendly People: The Italians are great! They will take you in and are always so proud of their towns and history.
2. The food and wine: Its Italy, eat drink and be merry.
3. Cheap public transport: the trains between towns and the metro and buses in the cities are cheap and effective.
4. The weather: you will get great weather where ever you do go.
5. Its Italy! The history, the museums, the landscape, its all just beyond words.

ONE DAY IN LUCCA (ITALY) | 4K UHD | Enjoy the heritage and pure beauty of the Tuscan old town

Lucca is one of the nicest and most beautiful towns in Tuscany. It's long history goes back to Etruscan and Ancient Roman times, and still you can find pieces of ancient architecture. Because the fact that historic centre is surrounded by city walls, Lucca has managed to preserve its heritage in a quite good shape.

All over this medieval city you’ll find monuments representing all the various historical era Lucca has lived through. Walking around Lucca is like traveling back in time. You really have to experience it.

I hope you enjoy the sights and that you like what you see. And of course I would be happy if you like and comment it, and please feel free to share the link to my video. Thanks a lot in advance.

5 Things American Tourists Shouldn't Wear in Europe

Grab some of our gear

Please Note: Young People Wear Many of These Styles Throughout Europe. These tips are geared toward 35+ year old travelers. Thanks for watching!

Grab a Wolters World Shirt

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

Lucca is a city that truly embodies the spirit of Tuscany. This beautiful town is known for its cobblestone streets, charming cafes, and historic buildings that date back to the Renaissance period. Visitors can wander through the winding streets of the old town, taking in the breathtaking sights and sounds of this vibrant city.
Here are some of the most famous landmarks you can visit in Lucca:

➡️???????????????????????? ????????????????’????????????????????????????????????????
This charming square was built on the remains of an ancient Roman amphitheater, which gives it its unique elliptical shape. The square is surrounded by colorful buildings, cafes, and shops, and it's a great place to relax and soak up the local atmosphere.
➡️???????????????????? ????????????????????????????
Torre Guinigi is a medieval tower that dates back to the 14th century and is one of Lucca's most iconic landmarks. The tower is unique in that it has a rooftop garden filled with oak trees, making it a popular destination for visitors to the city.
Climbing to the top of Torre Guinigi is not for the faint of heart - the tower is over 40 meters tall and has a steep, narrow staircase. However, the climb is well worth it for the stunning views of the city and the surrounding countryside that await you at the top.
➡️???????????????????? ???????????????????? ????????????
Another beautiful tower in Lucca is the Torre delle Ore. This tower dates back to the 14th century and is famous for its beautiful clock face. Visitors can climb to the top of the tower and enjoy panoramic views of the city.
➡️???????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????? (???????????? ???????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????)
Lucca Cathedral is a stunning example of Romanesque architecture and is located in the heart of Lucca's old town. The cathedral dates back to the 11th century and is dedicated to Saint Martin of Tours.
➡️???????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????? ????????????????
San Michele in Foro is a stunning church located in the heart of Lucca's old town. The church is dedicated to Saint Michael and is one of the most important religious buildings in the city.
The church dates back to the 11th century, although it was extensively renovated in the 17th century. The facade is particularly impressive, with its intricate carvings and decorations. The central portal is adorned with a series of sculptures depicting scenes from the life of Christ.
➡️???????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????
Finally, no visit to Lucca would be complete without a walk along its famous city walls. These walls were built in the 16th and 17th centuries to protect the city from invaders. Today, they offer stunning views of the city and are a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.

Karen Brown's Alla Corte Degli Angeli, Lucca, Italy.

Welcome to Karen Brown's World of Travel

We would like to share with you one of our recommended properties in Italy

The Alla Corte degli Angeli in the city of Lucca

Lucca is decidedly one of the loveliest cities of Italy with its historical churches and circular piazzas interspersed among beautiful shops featuring original storefronts and signage.

Besides the well-known summer Puccini Festival (this is his birthplace), there are antiques markets, artisan fairs, and some of the most beautiful formal gardens and villas in Italy surrounding the city.

In March the villas and gardens open for a special tour when the area's famed flower, the camellia (tree size), is in bloom.

Over the years we have patiently awaited the arrival of a charming place to stay within the city walls and we were eventually rewarded with the Alla Corte degli Angeli.

The Bonino family, already very familiar with the hospitality business, took over a private residence in the very heart of Lucca and created ten spacious bedrooms with guests' comfort in mind.

The ground-floor reception area includes a lovely dining room with fireplace where an abundant buffet breakfast is served, if not in your own room.

Bedrooms on the upper two floors are reached by an elevator, and all follow a specific flower theme, with pastel-colored walls giving an overall fresh feeling.

Complementing the well-put-together decor are antique dressers, parquet floors, and amenities such as air conditioning, Jacuzzi tubs, mini-bars, satellite TV, and WiFi.

Travel your Dreams with Karen Brown!
