ABOUT US:
We’re traveling full time, living on our own terms and showing you the up-close-and-personal details of us figuring it out along the way. Sometimes it’s about navigating big, life-altering decisions. Sometimes it’s about navigating the seemingly lawless free-for-all that is driving in Hanoi. It’s moments of triumph and moments of panic. The good, the bad, the ugly – and most importantly, the real and real funny.

We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.” Just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem. We believe the world’s a more interesting place when people reject convention in favor of what they actually care about. This is us putting that idea to the test – one budget spreadsheet, RV renovation and mountain-peak drone video at a time.

How to TRAVEL THE WORLD for CHEAP | 10 Money Saving Tips #74

We get many questions about how we afford to travel full time around the world, so we have decided to add a “How To” series to our channel to answer those questions and many more. Today, we share 10 money saving tips for how to travel the world for cheap and how to save on travel expenses.

We sold all our stuff and explore how to downsize your home and why, how to lower your taxes and travel more, along with a mindset change to that will lower your healthcare costs.

Once on the road, we look at cheap places to travel and how we balance the low and high cost countries to maintain a travel budget. We have learned to embrace public transportation for both much lower cost and better understanding the culture of a location. We also try to eat only one meal a day and minimize the number of times we eat in restaurants each week.

We usually stay in Airbnb vs Hotel, mainly because it enables being able to grocery shop and cook meals at home, which saves significant amount of money.

We put all of our expenses on a travel credit card, which certainly helps us afford world travel.

We try to find low and no cost activities to find everywhere we go. Our motto is “cheap is good, but free is better” We use the Chase Sapphire Reserve and found that to be a great travel credit card.

We also discuss some of the best side hustles and talk about our YouTube channel and how that will eventually help offset some travel costs.

We hope you enjoy the start of our 9-month European adventure and also go back and check out our adventures in Central America and seeing all 50 states during our Airstream journey across America.

Please join us for a 10-year journey and world travel vlog. We wanted to retire early and see the world and film our adventures in 4k video. Perhaps our world travel will give some ideas on what to do after retirement and where to travel in 2022. As older travel vloggers, we have different perspectives as we show you where to visit in 2022 and give you our experiences as we travel the world and show you where to travel now. This is our retirement and we want to share it with you.

We hope you will subscribe, join us on our adventure, give us some likes and send us comments and suggestions. It means so much. Thank you and hope everyone has a wonderful travel 2022.

Travel Tips that will Save you Time and Money

Travel Tips that will Save you Time and Money

1. Empty Middle Seat
Couples or friends flying together should always book the window and aisle seat. If the flight is not full you can end up with an empty seat in the middle for some extra space.

2. Duplicate it
Lower your stress levels should the worst happen and you loose an ID or Passport by having copies on hand. Take a quality photo of all of your important documents with your cell phone. You can even print a copy and keep it with you. At least you will be able to supply ID and passport numbers and continue with your travels.

3. Pack a snack
Take along some of your favourite snacks and avoid the expensive airport food and in-flight snacks. You might end up in a situation where you didn’t get a chance to eat and then a quick snack can be a lifesaver.

4. Travel Size Containers
Buy some travel size containers and fill them with your favourite products that you can re-use. Buying travel size products are a lot more expensive.

5. Reusable Water Bottle
Pack your own water bottel. Airports are expensive and you need to stay hydrated. You can refill your own bottel at a water fountain and save some money.

6. Mini Medicine Kit
Create your own First-Aid Kit to suite your individual needs. Fill a small cosmetic bag or ziplock bag with some pain reliever, bandaid, allergy medicine etc.
You never know when you are going to need it.

7. Portable Cell Phone Charger
Be prepared and don’t get stuck with a dead cellphone battery during your travels. Pack a portable cellphone charger to make sure that you stay connected. Your smart phone works hard during any trip while you take pictures and use it for directions on Maps etc.

8. Water Bottle with Filter
Many countries have water is that is questionable. You can save some money by bringing a bottle that filters the water for you. This will also give you some peace of mind knowing that your drinking water is filtered.

9. Inform your bank
Banks might flag an account for spending in unusual areas and your transactions can be declined. Let your bank know of your travel arrangements and avoid getting stuck in a foreign country with no access to your funds.

10. Wet Wipes
This item is such a great travel essential. Handy to clean all types of surfaces and cleaning your hands or wipe a small mess on your clothes.

11. Notebook and pen
Very useful for filling out immigration forms and jotting down a quick note.

12. Keep Prescriptions in their Containers
Bring any prescriptions that you need to take in their containers from the pharmacy with your name on. This will help if there are any questions when you arrive at your destination.

my 7 BIGGEST tips to save money on travel

How I Save $$ Traveling ⬇️

Travel can be expensive between hotels, flights, museums, and food. Finding ways to cut costs, even a little bit, can add up.  Here's how I turn those small cuts into BIG savings!

????️ Hotels can eat up a lot of your budget.  Most likely you won't see the inside of your room except for when it's time to sleep, so spending extra for luxury is a waste.  Simply decorated is fine for me- all I need is a bed and bathroom.  Look for accommodations that are clean and safe and save that extra money on gelato!

???? Consider grocery shopping.  If you're gonna be in one place for several nights, save money by not eating out every day.  Even getting simple items like coffee and breakfast eats can easily save you $20/ day.  For less than $10, you can turn spaghetti and sauce into dinner for 4!

????️ Consider hostels.  Ok, listen, after seeing the horror movie years ago, I decided hostels weren't for me. However, in my recent 2-month solo trip through Europe, I found some fun, clean, and safe hostels and it totally changed my mind.  These can be around $30-$70/ night and if you have 4-6 of you traveling together, you may be able to reserve the entire room together!

???? Travel during the off-season.  Prices hike up during busy tourist seasons no matter where you go.  Plus it's over-crowded, which not fun for anyone.  Take advantage of the lower off-season prices and you may even be able to spring for that fancy dinner spot with the money you saved.

???? Play with points & miles.  Look I know you hear it all the time, but I've paid for so many hotels, business class flights, and excursions using points from our Capital One Venture X card.  We don't purchase anything with it that we wouldn't already buy, and earn points every step of the way.  I even pay our health insurance premium with it! If I'm forking over thousands a year for health insurance, you better believe I'm squeezing out all the points I can.

???? Pay less for inconveniences.  It may be that room without the view, or a different cruise to an alternate destination, but you're still traveling!  I once took a 14-day repositioning cruise one-way to the UK for cheap ($700!)  Sure it was one-way and had more sea days than average, but it was a super comfy and affordable way to get to London, plus it had me seeing Portugal, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands!

???? Be flexible and book what's on sale. This is a BIG tip, but you have to be flexible.  I've saved THOUSANDS by looking at what's on sale now, and creating travel plans around those deals.  It might not be the exact itinerary or dates you had in mind, but you're still crossing destinations off your list and you might find a fave new city to love.

South Korea. 16 golden rules to save money while traveling in this country.

SOUTH KOREA TRAVEL GUIDE;
Though South Korea is small (about the size of the US state of Indiana), it punches well above its weight in terms of things to see and do. Boasting a vibrant culture, incredible history, natural beauty, delicious food, and a wild nightlife, it’s home to both major cities and untouched nature, offering something for every traveler.
Seoul, the capital city and fourth-largest metropolitan area in the world (over half the country’s population of 50 million is concentrated here), is a lively hub for food lovers and partying. But while it gets all the attention, there is much more to explore, including 22 national parks, lush Jeju Island, and the infamous Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) bordering North Korea.
Best of all, since South Korea is a manageable size, you can see a good portion of it in a limited amount of time. The transportation here is modern, clean, and efficient, so it’s easy to get around quickly.
The country is also a foodie’s paradise, with cheap street food and delicious dishes like bibimbap, kimchi, and the famed Korean barbecue.
It’s one of my favorite countries in the world and one that I think is super under the radar and often overlooked by travelers. You never see the tourist crowds found in other Asian countries.
This travel guide to South Korea can help you plan your trip, save money, and make the most of your visit.
