In our latest episode of our El Salvador Travel Guide we arrive in the City of Santa Ana. A wonderful and fun city. We show you around visiting the main sites of Santa Ana including the Theatre, main square. pools and market.

Santa Ana is the second largest city in El Salvador. Located in the coffee growing region it is the perfect location to explore the Ruta de las Flores, the near by Santa Ana Volcano and lake Coatepeque.

We had a wonderful time in this city and suggest you add it to your destinations in El Salvador.

We stayed in Hostal Sole, which is a short walk from the main square and was a great location to discover the city

Santa Ana - Our Favorite City in El Salvador! (El Salvador Travel Guide 2022)

Santa Ana is El Salvador's second largest city and it's the perfect hub to experience all of the epic attractions you can find in Western El Salvador.

All within an easy day trip from Santa Ana:

The country's tallest volcano, Volcan de Santa Ana (Santa Ana Volcano). Which you can easily hike to the summit of and look down at an epic turquoise crater lake that's literally steaming. On a clear day, you can even see the Pacific Ocean from up there, and plenty of other volcanos.

Lago de Coatepeque, an epic lake in the crater of a volcano that you can swim in. Surrounded by restaurants, bars, and hotels.

Ruta de las Flores (Route of the Flowers), a road that takes you through numerous small colonial towns, famous for their flowers, art, colonial architecture, and mountain scenery. The towns are surrounded by waterfalls and gorgeous nature, and the route has several coffee farms along the way.

You can also visit ancient Maya ruins from Santa Ana and tour coffee farms. It's an epic area to do a lot. If you have time, you can also visit Guatemala and Honduras, both of which are easily accessible from this part of El Salvador.

Beyond the nearby attractions though, the city of Santa Ana itself is an absolute hidden gem in Central America and it quickly became our favorite city in El Salvador. As well as one of our favorites in all of Central America! It's a lively and active city with a ton of culture and spirit, lots of history, an amazing food scene, and a unique blend of old and new. Away from all the action, you can easily escape into one of dozens of quiet and peaceful streets and neighborhoods filled with flowers and fruit trees and dotted with cafes and pupuserias.

We love Santa Ana and in this video we take you around the city, introduce you to some of our friends, and show you some of the things you can't miss when you visit.

Have you been to El Salvador? If not, would you consider going?
We highly recommend it! When you do go, make sure you don't skip out on Santa Ana!

Follow our friend's YouTube, he's based in Santa Ana! @ElMininoRick

We've been off the radar for awhile but we're back. Stay tuned for more El Salvador videos, including some from the coast!
We also have more coming from Mexico, Nicaragua, and more. Stay tuned and make sure to subscribe if you aren't already. For those of you who have been along for awhile, thank you so much for your continued support, amigos! See you out there!

In this episode we leave the city of Santa Ana and start our trip along El Salvador's Ruta de las Flores. We start by visiting the town of Nahuizalco - a wonderful town with a great square, church, market and helps give you a real feel of life here in El Salvador.

We spent a few weeks travelling around various parts of El Salvador and if you have heard El Salvador is dangerous and not safe, then from our perspective as tourists we had a fabulous time. El Salvador is full of wonderful kind people who made us feel very welcome and at no point did we feel unsafe.

Ruta de las Flores (2019) | JUAYUA & APENECA | EL SALVADOR Travel Guide | vlog series

We continue our journey along the Ruta de las Flores here in El Salvador. We visit the picturesque towns of Juayua and Apeneca as we continue exploring El Salvador.

The Ruta de las Flores is a picturesque route, about 20 miles long, in the coffee growing region of El Salvador. The route takes you though lovely villages and is a must if you come to El Salvador.

We arrive in the village of Juayua at there are events put on for fathers day and the village is very lively with music, dancing and lots of great food on offer.

We have lunch in the village of Apeneca and sample some more local dishes.

Our day ends with a visit to the best coffee shop and restaurant called Entre Nubes Cafe. If you do travel along the Ruta de las Flores then your visit won't be complete without stopping at the Entre Nubes cafe. They produce their own coffee and wow how good did that coffee taste. They also have an amazing restaurant and gardens where there are flowers all year round.

We spent a few weeks travelling around various parts of El Salvador and if you have heard El Salvador is dangerous and not safe, then from our perspective as tourists we had a fabulous time. El Salvador is full of wonderful kind people who made us feel very welcome and at no point did we feel unsafe.

Panchimalco El Salvador - Travel Guide El Salvador 2019

The village of Panchimalco is a short drive south of El Salvador's capital San Salvador. If you visit San Salvador you must take a trip to this wonderful village. Panchimalco is a colourful village filled with art and statues and is very picturesque.

Panchimalco is home to one of El Salvador's most famous artists - Miguel Angel Ramirez and we had the opportunity to visit him and have a guided tour of his house and studio

If you're interested in learning more about him and his art check out his web site

Panchimalco is a must if you head to San Salvador and we had a fabulous time walking around and trying some street food. On the way home we stopped off at Abbi Pupuseria which is known to be the best place to eat Pupusas (El Salvadors national dish) in the San Salvador area.

Hope you enjoy this episode

El Salvador Travel Guide - An Amazing Adventure

El Salvador Travel Guide - An Amazing Adventure

El Salvador is a country in Central America and, geographically, is part of continental North America. It is bordered on the southwest by the Pacific Ocean, and lies between Guatemala and Honduras. It is divided into 14 sections called Departments. It has 25 volcanoes, 14 lakes, and three large cities and is divided in to East, Central and West with the the capital San Salvador in the central region, Santa Ana in the west and San Miguel the largest city in the east.

The civilization of El Salvador dates from the pre-Columbian time, around 1500 BC, according to evidence provided by the ancient structures of Tazumal in Chalchuapa. El Salvador has a tropical climate with pronounced wet and dry seasons. Temperatures vary primarily with elevation and show little seasonal change. The Pacific lowlands are uniformly hot; the central plateau and mountain areas are more moderate.

A well-maintained and sparsely populated national park is found in the west at Bosque El Imposible. Additionally, there is Montecristo Cloud Forest, and a quaint fishing village with incredible local hospitality and remote coconut islands in La Isla de Méndez. Isla de Olomega in the department of San Miguel is an excellent eco-tourism destination, as are the beautiful Isla El Cajete in Sonsonate, Isla San Sebastian, Conchagua, Conchaguita, Isla Conejo, Isla Teopan, and Isla Meanguera.

The on-site museum showcases artifacts from the Pipil culture (the builders of Tazumal), as well as paintings that illustrate life in pre-Hispanic El Salvador. Souvenir hunters will find some of the best artisans in San Juan el Espino and in La Palma (the artisan capital of El Salvador).

El Salvador's Colonial Town Santa Ana!????????(First Impressions!!)

I took a local bus from San Salvador directly to Santa Ana. As soon as I dropped my stuff in the first hostel I found, I took my camera and hit the local streets without a map or a clear purpose!
These are my first and real First Impressions of the historic colonial city of Santa Ana in El Salvador!!
The only thing I can tell you is that I discovered one of the most delicious street food I have ever tasted in Central America with the most controversial name Kill Kids (Panes Chucos!!)
I will stay here for a few nights and I am very excited to share with you all my upcoming adventures here in El Salvador!!

Backpacking El Salvador (2019) Indigo Farm & Cihuatan Mayan Site

We continue our backpacking trip around El Salvador and in this episode we visit an organic Indigo farm and visit Cihuatan one of the Mayan sites here in El Salvador

Indigo used to be El Salvador's largest export until a synthetic replacement was created. The sales then dropped and coffee took over as El Salvador's largest export. It was very interesting to learn how it is grown and manufactured.

We then headed to the Mayan site of Cihuatan as continued our journey towards the city of Santa Ana.

In the next episode we arrive in the city of Santa Ana

Ruta de las Flores (2019) ATACO & Ahuachapan | EL SALVADOR Travel Guide | Vlog Series

We continue our journey along the Ruta de las Flores here in El Salvador. We arrive in Ahuachapan and spend a day visiting the town of Ataco and enjoy some great coffee and local street food, as we continue exploring El Salvador.

The Ruta de las Flores is a picturesque route, about 20 miles long, in the coffee growing region of El Salvador. The route takes you though lovely villages and is a must if you come to El Salvador.

We spent a few weeks travelling around various parts of El Salvador and if you have heard El Salvador is dangerous and not safe, then from our perspective as tourists we had a fabulous time. El Salvador is full of wonderful kind people who made us feel very welcome and at no point did we feel unsafe.

A huge thanks to Edwin from EC Tours for showing us the beauty of El Salvador and if you are looking for tours then check out their web site

Thanks for watching and coming on this adventure with us as we TREAD the Globe.
