What are the most dangerous cities to live in the United Kingdom? Ranking the United Kingdom as the 116th most dangerous country is not bad at all. That means the country is safer than, at least, 115 others in the world. Between 2020 and 2021 alone, it experienced 600 homicides as just one of the crimes reported that year. A total of 6.1 crimes were reported during that year. Out of these, 2 million were crimes against another person. If there were 67 million people in the UK during that year, the crime rate would be a whole 2,985 crimes per 100,000 people. However, it’s not everywhere in the UK that is dangerous. In this video, we will discuss those currently rated as the 5 most dangerous cities in the United Kingdom.
5. Nottingham
This city with links to the Robin Hood legend and which is famous for lacemaking and the tobacco industry is incidentally here. If we go by its population of 337,100, Nottingham that’s playing host to the headquarters of a number of major international businesses including Boots, E. On Energy, Pedigree Petfoods, and Gala Bingo, is the 14th largest city in the UK.
It’s the most dangerous major city in Nottinghamshire. Out of the 236 cities, towns, and villages in Nottinghamshire, it’s among the 20 most dangerous overall. In 2021, the overall crime rate in Nottingham was 114 crimes per 1,000 people. That was 49 percent higher than the crime rate in Nottinghamshire with a rate of 76 per 1,000 residents. Violence and sexual offenses are the most common crimes in Nottingham with 14,210 offenses during 2021, producing a crime rate of 45 per 1,000.
In 2020, a total of 34,228 crimes were committed with a crime rate of 108 per 1,000. In 2019, 42,113 were committed with a rate of 133. The year 2018 witnessed 41,970 crimes with a rate of 133. In 2017, the crime rate was 119 with 37,753 crimes. And in 2106, the total crime was 30,097 with a rate of 95 crimes per 1,000 people.
In December 2021, Nottingham was the most dangerous city for bicycle theft, with 52 crimes reported. That month was also a bad month for the city’s residents as it was the most dangerous area in Nottinghamshire for burglary while 110 of these crimes were committed. The city recorded 321 criminal damages and arsons still during December 2021.
4. Birmingham
We just have to agree with the inclusion of Birmingham on this list. This is a city with a population of about 1.1 million with an urban area having just over 2.6 million residents and a metropolitan area with a population of 3.5 million. Birmingham, despite having a coveted reputation as the first manufacturing city in the world some 200 to 150 years ago, is currently one of the most dangerous cities in the UK.
As the most dangerous major city in the West Midlands, Birmingham is among the 10 most dangerous overall out of the 44 cities, towns, and villages in the West Midlands. In 2021, the overall crime rate in this city was 137 crimes per 1,000 people. That was 17 percent higher than the West Midlands’ overall crime rate of 118 per 1,000 residents. Violence and sexual offenses are the most common crimes in Birmingham during 2021 when some 78,062 of these crimes were committed. That was a rate of 67 per 1,000 and was 38 percent higher than the 2020's figure.
Consider also the historical crime rate for Birmingham, not just what it had in 2021, and form your opinion. In 2020, a total of 123,271 crimes were committed with a crime rate of 106 per 1,000. In 2019, 120,832 were committed with a rate of 104 per 1,000 residents. The city in 2018 witnessed 114,605 crimes with a rate of 99. In 2017, the crime rate was 89 while 103,319 crimes took place. And in 2106, the total crime was 90,930 while at the rate of 78 crimes per 1,000 people.

You know some countries are more dangerous than Detroit or a Lingerie party at my cousin's ex-wife's house. Yes, it's hard to believe, I know.
In general, the world can be a dangerous place. You could be in danger no matter where your plane lands. The thing is, some countries excel in danger. And some even bump that up a notch depending on where you hail from. If you think everyone in the world loves America and its people, you’ve lived a sheltered life and I want to congratulate you on escaping from where ever you were and are now able to get on the internet to watch this video.
The fact is, some countries are dangerous for everyone, especially Americans, so much so the Dept. of State updates a report every couple weeks called Travel Advisory. This is a report that ranks the danger level a country might have for Americans that travel there. It has colors like a mood right of danger and goes from level 1 Blue that Exercise normal precautions, up to 4) Red Do not travel.

10 Most Dangerous States in America
What are the most dangerous states in the United States? Security has become everyone’s business all over the world, including in God’s Own Country. Putting it simply, we can say, each one should feel responsible for his personal safety, not just leaving it in the hands of some law enforcement authorities. This involves having reliable information about how safe or dangerous certain locations are so that you know what to do and how to take care of yourself in an unsafe location. That is the whole essence of this video. It deals with the 10 most dangerous states in America. As you watch, please try to determine the relationship between poverty and crime. We would illustrate how dangerous these states are using mostly the rates of violent crimes and murder.
10. Michigan
Let us start this with the Great Lakes state of Michigan. One would expect this state whose name means ‘large water’ or ‘large lake’ to be safe. But the state with a population of about 10.12 million which occupies an area of about nearly 97,000 square miles is unfortunately ranked among the 10 most dangerous states in America and this is justifiably so.
In Michigan, the rate of violent crime per 100,000 residents is 478. The number of violent crimes committed on average every year is 47,641 which is the 7th highest in the country. Also, in 2021 alone, 754 murders were reported in the state, which makes it the 10th highest. The high poverty rate of 13 percent in the state is the 17th highest in the country.
9. Arizona
The next state on this list of the most dangerous cities in America is Arizona, a state in the Western US, grouped in the Southwestern and, on occasion, in Mountain sub-regions. Having Phoenix as its capital and largest city, it is the 6th largest state with an area of 113,990 square miles and the 14th most populous with 7,151,502 residents, according to the most recent population data from the US Census.
But it is not a very safe state to live in. The violent crime rate here is 698 per 100,000 people. An average of 35,980 violent crimes are being committed in the state every year. In 2021, some 513 murders were reported, which is the 17th highest and the poverty rate is 13.5 percent which is the 13th highest.
8. South Dakota
South Dakota, a state in the North Central region, which is also part of the Great Plains, is another one of the most dangerous states in America. South Dakotans in their three regions of eastern South Dakota, western South Dakota, and the Black Hills are slightly more likely than other states to experience either property or violent crime.
The rate of violent crime in the state is 501.2 per 100k people. Some 4.476 crimes on average are being committed yearly in this state. In 2021 alone, 40 murders were reported in the state. Though these figures may appear low, they’re not, considering the population of 886,667 as the 4th least populous state, and its area of 77,116 square miles. The poverty rate of 11.9 percent here is the 23rd highest.
7. South Carolina
The next is South Carolina, a state in the coastal Southeastern region bordered by North Carolina, the Atlantic Ocean, and Georgia across the Savannah River. With its area of 32,020 square miles, South Carolina is in the 40th position in terms of size. With a population of 5,190,705, it is the 41st most populous in the country.
The state is not effective with laws preventing crimes on the state roads, workplace, and community, it is regarded as one of the most dangerous states in the country with a violent crime rate of 530.7 per 100,000. An average of 27,691 violent crimes are being committed yearly in the state. Murders reported in 2021 numbered 549 in the state with a poverty rate of 13.8 percent which is the 10th highest.

All the new cars have navigation systems that tell us how to get the places we want to go the best routes to take, and where the traffic is bad. I think they should start telling us where not to go and places to avoid. It should tell you things like “turn right in 500 yards to avoid a neighboorhood that is known for supplying illegal pharmaceuticals and tempory companionship.
Every city has them and they should be avoided. Since the land nav won’t tell you I will.
For this list, we are ranked by your chance of being a victim of a crime in a certain neighborhood. It is simple math, how many people live there vs. how many crimes committed. We will have people that think this is wrong. They always seem to think either their neighborhood is the worst in the country or it’s not as bad as I make it sound. Numbers don’t lie.
One thing I would like to point out is statistically you have more law-abiding, good people in all these neighborhoods, they just have some really motivated a-holes doing bad things.

More than 1,000,000 violent crimes happen in the US every year, each year, not counting all other types of crimes, such as property crimes and other non-violent crimes. In the year 2023 alone, there were approximately 1.2 million violent crimes, as estimated by the FBI and other reporting agencies.
Naturally, safety is one of the most important considerations when choosing a place to stay. This may be the most significant aspect, alongside employment and cost considerations. We have compiled a list of the United States' most dangerous cities by combining information from the FBI website with information from a Neighborhood Scout report on dangerous cities.
The number of violent crimes per 1,000 people in each city using the most recent population estimates from the Office of the FBI's most recent census and crime reports to rank the most dangerous cities. The top cities were those with the highest rates of violent crime. The most recent state-by-state FBI reports are the source of all statewide crime data.

What are the most dangerous areas in England? In recent years, crime has been the single most potent threat to security in England as well as in other parts of the world. For that reason, you can’t afford to turn a deaf ear whenever the discussion is about crime-ridden areas. This video focuses on the recent crime situation in England. It is about the overall number of crimes and their rate in the policing areas of England. Thus, we present the 10 most dangerous Policing areas for crime in England. We modestly acknowledge the fact there can be contrary figures regarding the rate. Yet, we believe you and we can rely to a very large extent on figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). That is the basis of our ranking in this video.
10. Durham
The first policing area we shall be talking about is County Durham, simply referred to officially as Durham. Its county town is the city of Durham. It is a ceremonial county spawning from the historic County Palatine of Durham. It is also one of the 10 most dangerous counties in the UK. The most common crimes here are violence and sexual offenses. About 40 out of 1,000 residents experience either of these. The crime rate in Durban is 89.6 per 1,000 residents, according to the ONS while the police force says it is 88 per 1,000 residents.
9. Northumbria
Northumbria is the next policing areas on our list. The early medieval Anglo-Saxon kingdom which is in what is now Northern England derives its name from an Old English word meaning “the people or province north of the Humber.” This differentiates the area from the home of the people south of the Humber Estuary. As far as crime is concerned, Northumberland is currently among the most dangerous in the record of the ONS. The overall crime rate in Northumberland in the year leading to June 2021 was 89.7 crimes per 1,000 people. The commonest crimes in the area during the period were violence and sexual offenses. More than 31 out of 1,000 residents experienced either of these during this time.
8. Kent
Kent is in South East England where it borders Greater London to the northwest while sharing its western border with Surrey, the southwestern border with East Sussex, and the northern border across the estuary of the River Thames with Essex. Maidstone is the county town of this one of the 10 most dangerous areas for crime in England. The crime rate during the year ending June 2021 in Kent was 91.4 per 1,000 residents. Another source while naming Kent as one of the top 10 most dangerous counties puts the overall crime rate there in 2021 as 87 crimes per 1,000 people. Violence and sexual offenses which were the most common crimes there happened to roughly every 44 out of 1,000 residents then.
7. Humberside
Humberside does not escape our attention here. The former non-metropolitan and ceremonial county in Northern England was composed of lands from the Humber Estuary on either side as a county. A national crime police report for June 2022 reveals that the Humberside Police received reports that were 5.2 percent more than the previous years. In our main source in this video, Humberside had an overall crime rate of 95.2 per 1,000 residents that year. Note also, that the area was one of the most dangerous for knife crime in 2021 and the situation hasn’t changed as of the time of this production.
6. South Yorkshire
This ceremonial and metropolitan county is in the area known as Yorkshire and Humber Region. It is one of the places discussed in our video mentioned with a 2021 knife crime rate of 43 offenses per 100,000 residents. In this video about the crime rate within the year ending June 2021, this county recorded 96 crimes per 1,000 residents. Another source listing South Yorkshire among the 5 most dangerous counties in the UK says the overall crime rate in the county in 2021 was 94 crimes per 1,000 people adding that the most common crimes which were violence and sexual offenses happened to about 38 out of 1,000 residents.

Hi everyone! Did you know that some cities in America are more dangerous than others? In this video, I will show you the 12 most dangerous cities in America and what makes them so unsafe. Now, before we get started, I just want to say that I'm not trying to scare anyone. Just because a city is on this list doesn't mean it's automatically off-limits. It's just important to be aware of these things so that you can take extra precautions when traveling to these areas.
So, without further ado, let's get into it. These are the 12 most dangerous cities in America.
12. Stockton, California
It is the county seat of San Joaquin County in Central California. According to the FBI, Stockton is more dangerous than 95% of American cities. You might be surprised if you find out that it has 229 percent more violent crimes than the national average. And guess what? The most common crimes are property, theft, and assault. If you travel here, be very careful with your belongings.
But over the past year, it's good to know that crime has dropped by more than 20%. The City of Stockton has recently prioritized community outreach and crime reduction due to realizing the need for improvement.
11. Rockford, Illinois
It is the third largest city in the state and the largest metropolitan area in the country. According to the website 24/7 Wall Street, Rockford’s unemployment rate (6.8%) is far above the state and the national average of 3.9%. Yes, it is a significant problem in this city. How does this relate to crime? Well, if more people are unemployed, that usually means more people are desperate. And when people are desperate, they sometimes turn to crime to make ends meet. Did you know that the majority of violent crimes in Rockford are aggravated assaults? This accounts for about three out of every four violent crimes in the city. It is definitely a place that you want to be careful of.
10. Kalamazoo, Michigan
This city of just over 76,000 people is home to several colleges and universities, including Western Michigan University. But it is considered one of the most dangerous cities in America. For example, on December 5, 2019, there was an incident where Bronco Liquor was robbed at gunpoint. This crime caught the attention of the students. So, the students must use the campus shuttle service, be aware of their surroundings, report any suspicious activity, and know where the blue-light emergency phones are located.

This is alarming to the residents, as well as to people who are just visiting. So, what had to be done to reduce crime?
