Video highlights include Ginza's main street, the anime of Akihabara, the Ueno Park area, the Tokyo Dome and its amusement park, and Tokyo's busiest train station Tokyo Station (over 3,000 trains per day). The two main specific districts are Chiyoda (The seat of Japanese power (both political and economic) that includes the Imperial Palace, the Ministries near Kasumigaseki, the Parliament in Nagatacho, the corporate headquarters of Marunouchi, and the electronics mecca of Akihabara) and Chuo (known for the famed department stores of Ginza and the outer market of Tsukiji.) Tokyo 4K - Skyline Expressway Sunrise - Rainbow Bridge - Driving Downtown

Thursday morning sunrise drive around the colorful Tokyo Drift style freeway (popularized in movies and TV shows about Japan) and across Tokyo's popular Rainbow Bridge (similar to New York City's Brooklyn Bridge or San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge). I filmed a sunset version in 60FPS but the quality was not good enough so I redid it early next morning with my original camera setup. Enjoy!
The Rainbow Bridge (レインボーブリッジ ) is a suspension bridge crossing northern Tokyo Bay in Tokyo, Japan. It was built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, with construction starting in 1987 and completed in 1993. The bridge is 798 metres (2,618 ft) long with a main span of 580 metres (1,903 ft).

The towers supporting the bridge are white in color, designed to harmonize with the skyline of central Tokyo seen from Odaiba. There are lamps placed on the wires supporting the bridge, which are illuminated into three different colors, red, white and green every night using solar energy obtained during the day.

Shuto Expressway (首都高速道路 Shuto Kōsoku-dōro, lit. Metropolitan Expressway, where shuto also means capital city) is a network of toll expressways in the Greater Tokyo Area of Japan. It is operated and maintained by the Metropolitan Expressway Company Limited (首都高速道路株式会社 Shuto Kōsoku-dōro Kabushiki-gaisha).

Most routes are grade-separated (elevated roads or tunnels) and central routes have many sharp curves and multi-lane merges which require caution to drive safely. The speed limit is 60 km/h on most routes, but 80 km/h on the Bayshore Route, and 50 km/h on the Inner Circular Route.

All trips on the expressway require a toll be paid. As of 2014, the cash toll for a standard-size car is ¥1300 regardless of distance travelled. Vehicles using the ETC toll-collection system pay a distance-based toll ranging from ¥300 to ¥1300 for ordinary vehicles (see toll price) – in some cases substantially less than the previous fixed-rate toll. Lower cash rates exist for certain radial routes (where there are only a few kilometers of expressway remaining) and ETC users have various time-of-day discounts. For large vehicles, the toll is doubled.

Monday night drive down Chuo Dori Avenue in Ginza, Tokyo's version of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills surrounded by Los Angeles. Check out the Beverly Hills video here!
The Ginza Neighborhood is located in the center of Tokyo. Love this area! Truly impressive with all the lights. I'd also guess they vacuum their streets just like in Beverly Hills. Yes you heard that right, I've seen hotels vacuuming their sidewalks in Beverly Hills. Pretty funny to watch. I'll take a picture next time. Enjoy the video!

Tokyo Gate Bridge
The design fulfils the requirement to be high enough to allow large ships to pass underneath, but low enough not to interfere with air traffic to the nearby Haneda Airport. It is a double cantilever bridge, which means that the truss sections from either side can be completed in balance, and then joined by the addition of the relatively short central span. The resemblance of the bridge to two monsters facing off has given it the nickname of 'Dinosaur Bridge' (恐竜橋, Kyōryū-bashi).

About Kachidoki Station
Kachidoki Station (勝どき駅, Kachidoki eki) is a subway station on the Toei Oedo Line in Chūō, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the Tokyo subway operator Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation.
(Wikipedia)

About Kachidoki Bridge
A walk across the Kachidoki Bridge is a chance to view Japanese technology and ingenuity up close. It is the last of the 27 bridges that span the Sumida River before it reaches Tokyo Bay. Featuring a double-leaf bascule mechanism that raised its sides to allow ships through when freight was mainly transported by boat, the bridge opened in 1940, but had the spans permanently shuttered for road traffic in 1970.

Visitors can view the electric generators that helped open and power the bridge, as well as other bridge paraphernalia at the nearby Kachidoki Bridge Museum. Located near the Tsukiji Fish Market, an excursion to the bridge and museum is a pleasant way to round out a morning in the area.

About Shin-Kiba Station
Shin-Kiba Station (新木場駅, Shin-kiba-eki) is a railway station in Kōtō, Tokyo, Japan, operated jointly by Tokyo Metro, East Japan Railway Company (JR East), and Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit (TWR).

About Sumida River
The Sumida River (隅田川, Sumida-gawa) is a river that flows through Tokyo, Japan. It branches from the Arakawa River at Iwabuchi and flows into Tokyo Bay. Its tributaries include the Kanda and Shakujii rivers.

What is now known as the Sumida River was previously the path of the Ara-kawa. Toward the end of the Meiji era, the Ara-kawa was manually diverted to prevent flooding.

Odaiba Marine Park

Oi Hockey Stadium

Yoyogi National Stadium

Tokyo Olympic Stadium
The Tokyo Olympic Stadium was the main stadium in the iconic ‘64 games and once again it will be the center stage for the 2020 Olympic Games. Both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and the athletics will be held at the officially called New National Stadium (新国立競技場 Shin kokuritsu kyōgijō).

2020 Summer Olympics
The 2020 Summer Olympics (Japanese: 2020年夏季オリンピック, Hepburn: Nisen Nijū-nen Kaki Orinpikku), officially the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and commonly known as Tokyo 2020, is an international multi-sport event scheduled for 23 July to 8 August 2021 in Tokyo, Japan. Originally scheduled to take place between 24 July and 9 August 2020, it was postponed in March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being held in 2021, the Games of the XXXII Olympiad will keep the name Tokyo 2020 for marketing and branding purposes. This is the first time that the Olympic Games have been postponed rather than cancelled.

Tokyo was selected as the host city during the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 7 September 2013. This will be the second time that Japan—and specifically Tokyo—has hosted the Summer Olympics, the first being in 1964, making it the first city in Asia to host the summer Games twice. Overall, these will be the fourth Olympic Games to be held in Japan, which also hosted the Winter Olympics in 1972 (Sapporo) and 1998 (Nagano). The 2020 Games will be the second of three consecutive Olympics to be held in East Asia, the first being the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang County, South Korea, and the next being the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.

These Games will see the introduction of new competitions at the Summer Olympics, including 3x3 basketball, freestyle BMX, and Madison cycling, as well as further mixed events. Under new IOC policies that allow the host organizing committee to add sports to the Olympic program to augment the permanent core Olympic events, these Games will see karate, sport climbing, surfing, and skateboarding make their Olympic debuts, as well as the return of baseball and softball for the first time since 2008.

The Games will feature 339 events in 33 different sports, encompassing a total of 50 disciplines. Alongside the five new sports that are expected to be introduced in Tokyo, fifteen new events within existing sports are also planned, including 3x3 basketball, freestyle BMX and the return of Madison cycling, as well as new mixed events in several sports.

Competition Venue Map

Nippon Budokan
Built for the 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics, the Nippon Budokan has a long history of promoting international interest in traditional Japanese martial arts. As an Olympic venue for Tokyo 2020, hosting Japanese martial arts, judo and karate, that tradition will continue.

With seating for over 14,000 people, the hall is often used for concerts by famous musicians.

Quick Facts
-Muhammad Ali fought Japanese pro-wrestling legend Antonio Inoki at the Budokan in 1976
-Music groups such as Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick, and Bob Dylan have recorded live albums here

Kokugikan Arena
The huge stadium known as Ryogoku Kokugikan dominates the sumo-obsessed neighborhood of Ryogoku , and is the focus of big excitement during the tournament season.

Built in 1985, this huge stadium can accommodate over 10,000 visitors. While experiencing the excitement of a sumo tournament is the best way to get a feel for this popular sport, you can also check out the hall on days when no events are scheduled. See the dramatic hanging roof that covers the ring and take photos with sumo-related props.

Tokyo International Forum
Designed by Uruguayan architect Rafael Vinoly, Tokyo's largest convention center, Tokyo International Forum, is an airy space of glass and steel. Host to concerts, exhibitions and other events and dotted with modern art pieces, the forum is an inspiring space for cultural exchanges, entertainment and learning.

Quick Facts
-The forum includes eight halls and 34 conference rooms
-Modern art installed here includes works from Francesco Clemente, Isamu Noguchi, Robert Mapplethorpe and Andy Warhol

Tokyo International Forum plays host to hundreds of shows, musical performances, conferences and exhibitions every year, many of which are open to the public. In the basement you will also find the Mitsuo Aida Museum , dedicated to the famous philosopher and calligrapher.

There are several restaurants and cafes around the complex, and in the courtyard special fairs, events and food trucks will vie for your attention.

Imperial Palace & Around
Home to the Emperor of Japan, the Imperial Palace is built upon the site of Edo Castle, home to the Shogun before 1868. Protected by wide moats and thick walls and surrounded by meticulously kept gardens, the grounds offer a peaceful green contrast to the steel and glass of downtown Tokyo's modern office buildings.

Runners, cyclists and strolling couples and families frequent the palace grounds. There are tours of the grounds as well, and you can get in to see the Imperial art collection for free.

The Imperial Palace is one of the Olympic venues for Tokyo 2020. The race walk event, also known as Olympic speed walking, takes place in the Imperial Palace's park grounds.

The Imperial Palace is extensive, and can be reached from several different gates and metro stations.

The Ote-mon gate is one of the most popular options, since it connects directly to the East Garden. The gate is a five-minute walk from the Otemachi subway station, or a 15-minute walk from Tokyo Station.

The Hirakawa-mon and Kita-hanebashi-mon gates are located closer to Kitanomaru Park; both are a five-minute walk from Takebashi Station on the Tozai metro line.

Olympic Games in Japan
Japanese educator, Jigoro Kano is considered the father of the Olympic Movement in Japan. He was the headmaster of the Tokyo Higher Normal School (currently known as Tsukuba University) and made great efforts to promote judo. In 1909, Kano became the first IOC member to serve from Asia. Following this, he established the Japan Sports Association in preparation for Japan's eventual participation in the Olympic Games. In 1911, he organised an Olympic qualifying competition, from which short distance runner Yahiko Mishima and marathoner Shiso Kanaguri qualified for the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm — the first Olympic Games in which Japanese athletes participated.

Tokyo 4K - Shibuya Crossing - Driving Downtown

Thursday morning drive through the Shibuya Crossing neighborhood. You've probably seen this crosswalk more times than you can count on social media. It feels very similar to Times Square in Midtown Manhattan New York City. Shibuya is a major commercial and business district. It is also very popular among tourists and shoppers. Enjoy and Happy New Year!
Shibuya (渋谷区 Shibuya-ku) is a special ward in  Tokyo, Japan. Shibuya is famous for its scramble crossing, called Shibuya Crossing. It is located in front of the Shibuya Station Hachikō exit and stops vehicles in all directions to allow pedestrians to inundate the entire intersection. The statue of Hachikō, a dog, between the station and the intersection, is a common meeting place and almost always crowded.

Shibuya is a major commercial and business centre, it houses the two busiest railway stations in the world, Shinjuku Station (southern half) and Shibuya Station.

As of May 1, 2016, it has an estimated population of 221,801 and a population density of 14,679.09 people per km2 (38,018.7/sq mi). The total area is 15.11 km2 (5.83 sq mi).

The name Shibuya is also used to refer to the shopping district which surrounds Shibuya Station, one of Tokyo's busiest railway stations. This area is known as one of the fashion centers of Japan, particularly for young people, and as a major nightlife area.

Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō), officially Tokyo Metropolis (東京都, Tōkyō-to), is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan. Tokyo is considered to be one of the world's most important and powerful global cities.

As of October 1, 2015, the population of Tokyo is estimated to be over 13.4 million, or about 11% of Japan's total population, making it Japan's most populous city. The latest estimate in 2019 shows the growing population of Tokyo with 13.9 million people, with the special wards 9.6 million, the Tama area 4.2 million, and the Islands 25,147. The prefecture is part of the world's most populous metropolitan area called the Greater Tokyo Area with over 40 million people and the world's largest urban agglomeration economy. As of 2011, Tokyo hosted 51 of the Fortune Global 500 companies, the highest number of any city in the world at that time. Tokyo ranked third (twice) in the International Financial Centres Development Index. The city is home to various television networks such as Fuji TV, Tokyo MX, TV Tokyo, TV Asahi, Nippon Television, NHK and the Tokyo Broadcasting System.

Tokyo ranks first in the Global Economic Power Index and third in the Global Cities Index. The GaWC's 2018 inventory classified Tokyo as an alpha+ world city  – and as of 2014 TripAdvisor's World City Survey ranked Tokyo first in its Best overall experience category (the city also ranked first in the following categories: helpfulness of locals, nightlife, shopping, local public transportation and cleanliness of streets). As of 2018 Tokyo ranked as the 2nd-most expensive city for expatriates, according to the Mercer consulting firm. and also the world's 11th-most expensive city according to the Economist Intelligence Unit's cost-of-living survey. In 2015, Tokyo was named the Most Liveable City in the world by the magazine Monocle. The Michelin Guide has awarded Tokyo by far the most Michelin stars of any city in the world. Tokyo was ranked first out of all sixty cities in the 2017 Safe Cities Index. It was also ranked the first in the 2019 safe cities index. The QS Best Student Cities ranked Tokyo as the 3rd-best city in the world to be a university student in 2016 and 2nd in 2018. Tokyo hosted the 1964 Summer Olympics, the 1979 G-7 summit, the 1986 G-7 summit, and the 1993 G-7 summit, and will host the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2020 Summer Paralympics.

About Azabu
Azabu (麻布) is an area within Minato in Tokyo, Japan, built on a marshy area of foothills south of central Tokyo. Its coverage roughly corresponds to that of the former Azabu Ward, presently consisting of nine official districts: Azabu-Jūban, Azabudai, Azabu-Nagasakachō, Azabu-Mamianachō, Nishi-Azabu, Higashi-Azabu, Minami-Azabu, Moto-Azabu and Roppongi. It is known as Tokyo's most expensive upscale residential district; many artists, business people, and celebrities reside there.

The name Azabu literally means hemp cloth. Until the early Edo period, the area was agricultural. Archaeological evidence indicates that the area was inhabited as far back as the Jōmon period. The Juban Inari shrine (formerly known as Takechiyo Inari) was constructed in AD 712, the temple of Zenpuku-ji in 824, and the Hikawa Shrine in 939 (on orders of Minamoto no Tsunemoto).

The area became urbanized in the 17th century, after Tokugawa Ieyasu established his seat of government in nearby Edo. Azabu soon became home to the Juban Horse Grounds, Edo's largest horse market. In 1859, the first United States delegation in Japan was established at Zenpuku-ji.

Azabu (including the adjacent district of Roppongi) was a ward of Tokyo from 1878 to 1947. During the industrialization of the Meiji era, Azabu was connected to Tokyo by horse-drawn trams. The lowlands became light commercial areas, while the hilltops became prime residential areas. Later, during the Taishō period, Azabu was overrun with theaters, department stores, and red-light districts, becoming one of Japan's best-known entertainment districts.

Much of Azabu was destroyed during the firebombing of Tokyo in 1945, although a special bunker created for the privileged classes that lived there saved many lives, including Yoko Ono's. Azabu's commercial areas were not revived after the war, and the area is mainly a residential district today.

About Ariake
Ariake is most well known internationally as the site of the Tokyo Big Sight international exhibition centre. Other important facilities located within Ariake include the Differ Ariake Arena, Ariake Tennis Forest Park (Ariake Tenisu no Mori Kōen), Ariake Coliseum, Ariake Sports Center, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Tokyo Ariake University of Medical and Health Sciences, the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research and the headquarters of Universal Entertainment Corporation. Ariake is a center for shipping in the pulp and paper industry.

About Wakasu
Roughly half of the island is an industrial zone, while the other half contains the Wakasu Seaside Park, Wakasu Golf Course, and a popular camping ground. There is also a large wind turbine located nearby the golf course. The 18-hole golf course and the campground attract many people from all over Tokyo.
Wakasu was planned to be the venue for sailing events at the 2020 Summer Olympics, but as of 2015 it is planned that the yachting will take place in Enoshima, Kanagawa Prefecture. Instead it will host golf moved from Kasumigaseki, Saitama as the planned venue.

About Shin-Kiba
Shin-Kiba might lack the name recognition of Shinjuku or Shibuya, but it’s a good spot to know for those looking to break away from Tokyo’s usual tourist meccas. There are several noteworthy places within walking distance of Shin-Kiba station, which is located two train stops away from Tokyo Disney Resort on the Keiyo Line. If you want to stroll across the open-air walkway of the Dinosaur Bridge, however, you’ll need to know which bus to take.
Tokyo Gate Bridge:
At a length of more than 8,500 feet, Tokyo Gate Bridge has been nicknamed the Dinosaur Bridge because of its size but also because of its appearance. The two enormous truss sections of this double cantilever bridge do indeed give the appearance of dinosaurs locking horns.
