So I am loving Tallinn, Estonia. I think this is actually my fifth time in Europe but this maybe my favorite city ever. It's just very medieval, very charming, really cute and the food. The feast that we had just now was amazing. That just put the city up to the very top.

So it is now nine o'clock. It is still daylight out but it is the end of our day. It's time to go catch our ferry back to Helsinki, so we are saying goodbye to Tallinn and I am very sad to be leaving. I thought it was such a great city to visit.

This is part of our Travel in Estonia series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Estonian culture, Estonian arts, Estonian foods, Estonian religion and Estonian people.

5 Things to do in Rotermann Quarter. Tallinn City Guide 2022

I've spent a day exploring the best shopping neighbourhood in Tallinn. Rotermann quarter is conveniently located between The Old Town and the harbour; chances that you will walk through it are pretty high. Historically it used to be an industrial area and now you can find high-quality boutique shops and world-class restaurants stylishly built into these ex-warehouses.
We also try some of the yummiest street foods at the newly opened Viru Food Hall at the end of the video.

Read more about the Rotermann quarter in this post:

TALLINN in Just 4 HOURS | Guide to the Capital of Estonia

Tallinn is a lovely city with a UNESCO World Heritage Site old town that's amazingly well preserved. It's also a city that many people just visit for short trips. This is a guide for how to maximize your visit to Tallinn...if you only have four hours to spare!

For more videos every week, subscribe to the channel:

Also, join the Three Star Vagabond Facebook group to discuss upcoming videos:

This video covers some basic history of Tallinn, dating back to the 13th century and the Hanseatic League, and then gives you suggestions for where you can go if you just have one day or even half a day in the city.

The places mentioned or shown include:

- The Town Hall Square, with the Raeapteek (Europe's oldest pharmacy) and Old Thomas
- Tallinn Old Town, including St Catherine's Passage, the Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform, and the Patkuli Vieweing Platform
- Other things to keep an eye out for in Tallinn Old Town, such as street art, the Lucky Chimney Sweeper, the Chopin Bench, and the Black Angus sculpture
- Kiek in the Kök, a famous tower turned museum
- The Seaplane Harbor Museum
- The Rock of Tondi, as made famous by vlogger Bald and Bankrupt
- Gorgeous Kadriorg Palace and Kadriorg Park
- The Kalamaja district, including a visit to the abandoned Linnahall Soviet era stadion
- Optional visits to the KGB Museum and KGB Prison Cells
- Things to eat and drink in Tallinn, ranging from various foods to desserts - and of course craft beer, for example from the Pöhjala brewery
- And finally some suggestions for nice bars and cafes, like Kompressor, Must Puudel, Pudel Baar, and Cafe Mademoiselle

There's of course a lot more to see in Tallinn! But if you have a short amount of time, all of this will keep you plenty occupied.

LEGOLAND Visit and review videos:

Tallinn , the capital of Estonia, lies on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, only 70 km (43 mi) south of Helsinki. At the historical and medieval heart of the city is the hill of Toompea, covered in cobbled streets and filled with medieval houses and alleyways. The lower town spreads out from the foot of the hill, still protected by the remnants of a city wall. Around the city wall is a series of well-maintained green parks, great for strolling.

Medieval Old Town. Excellently preserved, built in the 15-17th centuries. This compact area is best explored on foot.

View to the Tallinn old town
Viru Gate, (Entrance to Viru Street). This section of town is known as All-Linn or Lower Town, as it's where the merchants and artisans of old Tallinn lived. Today, Viru is still Tallinn's trendiest shopping street and the entire All-Linn is the busiest (and most touristy) bit of Tallinn.

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. a classic onion-domed 19th-century Russian Orthodox church that has become a touristy symbol of the city, to the annoyance of some who regard it as a symbol of oppression. It was almost demolished in 1924 during Estonia's first brief spell of independence, but the Soviets left it to moulder and it has been restored to its former glory.

WHAT TO DO IN TALLINN IN ONE DAY? (ESTONIA'S FAIRYTALE CAPITAL)

Wondering what to do in Tallinn in one day? We spent 24 hours exploring the fairytale city of Tallinn Estonia. Tallinn is a well preserved medieval city with plenty to do and see.

We stayed in the hipster area of Kalamaja during our time in Tallinn.
This area is filled with colorful wooden houses and right outside of Tallinn's Old Town. Our first stop of the day was in Kalamaja at Boheem. It is a cute cafe with a bunch of different rooms. They are pet friendly and super nice! Close to Boheem is Balti Jaama Turg.

Balti Jaama Turg is a 3 level market hall in Tallinn. We wandered the market and went to Kalev to try Estonian chocolate. Then we made our way to Estonia's Old Town.

Long Leg Gate Tower (Pika jala väravatorn) is an entry gate into Tallinn's Old Town. It is part of Tallinn's medieval wall. We walked through this gate and found ourselves in the charming Old Town.

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is a beautiful church in Tallinn's Old Town. Right across from the cathedral is the Riigikogu (Parliament of Estonia). Toompea Castle is connected to the Parliament building and Tall Hermann (Pikk Hermann) is a flag tower of Toompea Castle.

The Danish King's Garden is a few minute walk from Toompea Castle. In the garden, there are three faceless monk statues and nice views of St. Nicholas Church.

Kiek in de Kök is one of Tallinn's artillery towers. It is now a museum and you can walk the town wall going from one tower to another.

Next we made our way to Freedom Square and The War of Independence Victory Column. When we were there, a protest against the invasion of Ukraine was happening.

For a snack before lunch, we went to III Draakon. It's in Tallinn's Town Hall and gives visitors a medieval tavern experience. We tried the pies and beer here.

For lunch we went to Olde Hansa. It is an authentic medieval dining experience with great food, live music, and wonderful staff. This was one of our top dining experiences.

We hope you enjoyed our What to do in Tallinn in one day vlog!
