Chinese firms to build Iraq's Nasiriyah Airport, Sadr City

Chinese companies will build Nasiriyah Airport and nearly 90,000 houses in Sadr City in Iraq under an oil-for-projects agreement the two countries signed in 2019, an Iraqi official was quoted on Sunday as saying.
Obstacles that have obstructed the agreement over the past few months have been resolved and China would soon provide funds in exchange for the supply of 100,000 barrels of Iraqi crude, said Sabah Abdul Lateef, an adviser to the Iraqi Prime Minister.
He told the official Iraqi news agency that four major projects would be executed in Iraq shortly under the oil-for-projects deal which was finalized in September 2019 and stipulated the execution of projects in Iraq by Chinese firms in exchange for crude supplies.
The projects comprise the construction of Nasiriyah Airport in the Southern Dhi Qar Governorate, the building of nearly 90,000 houses in Sadr City in the capital Baghdad, the construction of 1,000 hospitals through Iraq and sewage networks in Baghdad.
“These projects will be carried out in line with the Iraq-China agreement after all legal issues that have faced the agreement have been resolved,” Abdul Lateef said.

Kuwait's New Era Palace of Justice Mega Structure!

Everybody knows that Kuwait is a country in Western Asia. It is situated on the northern edge of Eastern Arabia at the tip of the Persian Gulf, bordering Iraq to the north and Saudi Arabia to the south. The origin of the name of this country is interesting and few people know about it. ''Kuwait'' is derived from an Arabic word meaning fort. Until the 18th century, Kuwait hardly had any settlements but the area was visited by nomads who would come and go. However, then drought struck the desert area that the nomads depended on for their survival, and they started settling down near the coast of the Persian Gulf in what is today Kuwait. They fortified settlements in the area from where the name Kuwait was derived. The country has been developing and building its economy for centuries, mostly thanks to the fact that it has the sixth-largest oil reserves in the world and the second-largest oil field in the world. Because of that, the Kuwaiti Dinar is the world's highest-valued currency. Over time, imposing buildings were built, so Kuwait has the largest opera house in the Middle East. Another building on the list of amazing
projects of this state is the New Palace of Justice. Do you want to know more about this palace? Then, you are in the right place.

These mega projects are shaping the future of Egypt

German company Siemens Mobility has signed a $4.5 billion contract with Egypt's National Authority for Tunnels to deliver the country's first high-speed and electrified train line (pictured in a rendering). The first 660-kilometer line will connect Cairo to new cities. See more Egyptian mega projects being built for the country's growing population.

Pictured here in a rendering, Siemens says the new rail line will create a Suez Canal type of link on the tracks, for both goods and people -- transporting more than 30 million people per year and increasing freight capacity by 15%.

This aerial view from March 2020 shows the ongoing development of Egypt's New Administrative Capital mega project, on a swath of desert roughly the size of Singapore.

These new towers are under construction at the capital city, which is being built from scratch some 45 kilometers east of Cairo.

Plans for the new capital were announced back in 2015 and construction has been underway since. Proposals for the city include housing for five million people, over 1,000 mosques, smart villages, the world's largest park and a financial district (shown in this image from 2019).

Egypt's Suez Canal underwent an $8 billion expansion in 2015, with another round starting earlier this year to further widen the canal -- which connects the Mediterranean to the Red Sea and offers the shortest sea route between Europe and Asia.

This image shows the two channels of the Suez Canal during the opening ceremony of the expansion in 2015. The new 35-kilometer channel was designed to increase the capacity of ships. Further improvement will be vital for economic growth in the coming decade.

New Murabba: New Horizon For Riyadh -The Cube: Saudi's Next Mega Project A Gateway To Another World

Here's New Murabba ! The new project that will be Riyadh's new face and Saudi Arabia's Next future mega project for 2030 . It's will be a gateway to a new future world

Saudi Arabia has announced plans to build a colossal 1,300ft (400m) cube shopping centre in its capital.

Developers are planning to build the New Murabba project at the heart of a seven mile (19km) area in the northwest of Riyadh, welcoming hundreds of thousands of residents to facilities that include 80 entertainment and culture venues, 9,000 hotel rooms and 3.2million square feet (980,000 sqm) of retail space.

Its designers claim the world's largest downtown area will 'offer a unique living, working [and] entertainment experience within a 15-minute walking radius and will have its own internal transport system', with visitors stunned by the latest in immersive holographic technology.

This comes as Saudi Arabia looks to diversify its economy and add sustainable projects and cities to its roster, currently dependent on oil for 80 per cent of its export income.

The Mukaab landmark shopping centre at its core is planned to reinvent the region (above) with green areas and walking and cycle paths, 'promoting healthy, active lifestyles and community activities'.

At 1,300ft tall, its designers claim it could fit 20 Empire State Buildings (1,250ft to roof; 1,454ft to tip) inside.

Promotional videos show renderings of an immersive virtual reality, with dragons and huge holographic people moving through the development.

Surrounded by a cube structure, the inner spiral can display realistic images around the building.

Renderings show spacecraft flying overhead, huge mountain ranges and towering waterfalls all projected on to the sleepy desert scene.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, who is also Prime Minister and Chairman of the NMDC (New Murabba Development Company), which is overseeing the development, announced the project on Thursday.

It is estimated it would add SAR180 billion (£39.9billion) to non-oil GDP.

Saudi Arabia, with one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, is planning a number of so-called megaprojects intended to reinvent its economy.

The planned smart city of Neom in northwest Saudi Arabia was announced by the Crown Prince in October 2017, also as part of the Saudi Vision 2030 to reduce oil dependence, diversify the economy and build up public service sectors.

The ambitious project would be powered exclusively by wind and solar power and is estimated to cost $500billion.

Critics have noted that only two buildings had been built by July 2022, ahead of the first phase completion date penned for 2025.

In January 2021, plans were unveiled for a 110-mile (170km) long, 660ft (200 metre) wide, linear city - 'The Line' - running through the region.

All basic services are expected to be within a five-minute walking distance for nine million residents.

The project has drawn criticism for its data-collection surveillance technology and for sentencing to death people who were forcibly evicted and displaced to make way for the project.

Amnesty International noted that the Saudi Vision 2030 was enabled by a large-scale demolition and eviction plan which impacted half a million people in Jeddah alone, violation of international human rights standards and discriminating against foreign nationals.

Saudi Arabia is also investing in Amaala, an upcoming sustainable megaproject of 2,500 hotel rooms and 200 retail shops, aiming to attract tourists to the Red Sea coast.

A number of cultural sites will also receive investment as the country looks to attract international tourists as part of its diversification move.

The Saudi Vision 2030 includes attracting 27 million domestic and foreign tourists.
