A visit to Kashmir is not complete without visiting the most beautiful hills of Gulmarg.
Gulmarg - also known as Meadow of Flowers, is one of the top hill station destinations to visit in the country.
Gulmarg is located about 50kms from Srinagar city. You can take a taxi from Srinagar and reach gulmarg in 1 and half hours.
The main attractions here is the Gondola ride. The Gondola ride has two phases. Phase 1 ticket price is 740/- per person and it takes you to Kungdoor mountain top. The Phase 2 ticket price is about 950/- per person and it takes you from kungoor to Apharwat peak.
Most of the time, you will find snow on the top of phase 2.
In winter, Gulmarg is one of the skiing destinations. This attracts a lot of foriegn tourists. You can also indulge in skiing and snow slides on top of phase 2.

Top 12 Things To do in Kashmir
What's a place you visited as a kid that you went back to or still want to go back to as an adult? For me it was Kashmir!! I remember it so clearly as a child. The snow capped mountains, the shikara ride! I always wondered if Kashmir was over rated. But let me tell you Kashmir is Under Rated!!! And for those asking me if it's safe? Yes I feel very safe here. also - more than the natural beauty -The people are the sweetest and the most hospitable I've met anywhere.
1. Gandola ride to reach pahse 1 & 2. watching this beautiful view from a top view was wonderful.
2. Apharwat peah: So many Fauji points.
3. Kabootar valley: Wow, double decker skiing was fun and snow sledging. Although I was scare at the strated but I highly recommend you for it! It was so much fun!
4. Watching purple flowers bloom all around during summers. If you visit Kashmir around summers, you will witness these beautiful flowers all around!
5. Kashmiri Men: Which state in India has the Most Handsome Men? And Most Beautiful Women? For me, I think Kashmir wins for the handsome men :) This is the only state in India where I think the men are more gorgeous than the women.
6. Shikara Ride: It's so dreamy to watch the sun go down sitting in the shikara and sipping hot kawa.
7. Dal Lake: you will see a number on things people do on the dal lake from enjoying kababs to smoking hookas!
8. Floating market: Name things you have it all here
9. Houseboat: It's a luxurious experience staying in these hoouseboats. Owners have to inherit it and cannot buy.
10. Pari Mahal: Pari Mahal or Peer Mahal, also known as The Palace of Fairies, is a seven-terraced garden located at the top of Zabarwan mountain range. It is an example of Islamic architecture and patronage of art during the reign of the then Mughal Emperor khan Shah Jahan.
11. Shah-E- Hamdan: Shah-E-Hamadan Masjid???? It is one of the best examples of Kashmiri wooden architecture, and is decorated with papier mache.
12. Sonmarg: Sonmarg has ancient importance because it was a gateway on the ancient Silk Road that connects Kashmir with China. Sonamarg is a valley covered in white gold thereby living up to its name.

About this video : - I recently visited Gulmarg kashmir. It was a one day experience and a must visit place. Gulmarg is 65 kms from srinagar. Gulmarg means 'meadow of flowers' in Kashmiri, is a town, a hill station, a popular skiing destination in Jammu and Kashmir, India. This place was absolutely safe and the people were very nice. It is a ultimate paradise on earth. Gulmarg gandola is one of the main attraction and also the only transport to reach the ski area. Winter in Gulmarg is from Nov - March every year with extreme cold weather. Jan is ideal to see snowfall in Kashmir.
