Flying Dutchman (World's Steepest Zipline) - Sint Maarten Caribbean
The Flying Dutchman is the steepest zipline in the World, and is located on the Rockland Estate at the top of Sentry Hill in Sint Maarten. It was quite a surprise to find such an intense thrill ride located on a tiny Caribbean island, but it was a lot of fun riding it down the mountain. The zipline drops 1050 ft in elevation over a length of 2800 ft so that's pretty steep (37.5 degree angle) and it doesn't take long to get down the mountain. Sadly GoPro cameras are not permitted so I had to make do with some off-ride footage, but I hope you enjoy the video and the wonderful scenery! Filmed in December 2021 during a Marella Discovery cruise around the Caribbean.

World's Steepest Zipline | The Big 3: Flying Dutchman, Schooner & Canopy Zipline
Board the Soualiga Sky Explorer and head toward the top of Sentry Hill, St. Maarten's highest point and home to the world's steepest zip line. known as The Flying Dutchman, the zip line features a secure harnessed chair and launches guests on a 1,050 foot drop reaching speeds of up to 56 miles per hour.
And enjoy the breath taking view from the top.

ST Maarten is a part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is a country on the southern part of a Caribbean island shared with Saint Martin, a French overseas collectivity.
With its beautiful weather, white sand beaches and a glass of rhum punch on hand you will truly enjoy the island. Going to Sentry Hill, you will ride a chairlift, when you get to the top your eyes wikl be fed with the beautiful colors of the sea and the city below. Going up will take about 30 to 40 minutes on the chairlift. And if you are an adventurer you can take the Flying Dutchman. That means you will be strapped and slide going down which takes about 45 seconds. It was a wonderful experience going up and having a sip of rhum punch while enjoying the view of St Maarten:)

World's STEEPEST Zipline in St Maarten! (GONE WRONG!) | Carnival Horizon 2018! | Ep. 16
Good morning from beautiful St. Maarten!! Today we are doing the High Adrenaline and Maho Beach Excursion, which included a trip to the Flying Dutchman.....the steepest zipline in the world! It ended up starting off to a rough start, something that nobody had anticipated when we booked this tour. To make matters worse, we had a bad injury in the group on the mountain when we finally got to the actual zip lining part of the excursion.

The steepest/fastest zipline at st maartin ( flying dutchman)
We were on cruise and we went to st maartin, we rented a scooter and headed straight to a place named rainforest, arround 140$ costed us to do the steepest zipline and 3 other rides (2 small ziplines and a balloon ride).
The experience was amazing especially the fear that we got wile going up the mountain to do it.????????????????

Flying Dutchman, World's steepest Zipline in St Maarten
The Flying Dutchman is Rockland Estate's main attraction when it opens. The park bills the zip line attraction as the steepest in the world, dropping 1,050 feet in elevation across the 2,800 feet of cable. We zip down over greenery at 56 miles per hour, Insane.
We reached St Maarten through Royal Caribbean Cruise in 2019.
The whole experience costed arround 140$ for the steepest zipline and 3 other rides (2 small ziplines and a balloon ride).

St Maarten Flying Dutchman Zipline
Take a ride on the Caribbeans longest and highest Zip line. The Flying Dutchman is 1/2 a mile long and has a 1050 foot vertical drop. You use a ski lift to get up to the highest point on the island, then there are multiple decks and stairs that give you amazing views of the entire island. You can buy a beer or soda at the top and they even have restrooms there! It really is nicely put together. Here is a link that will give you all the information you might need.

TIP Plan to visit and experience the Dutchman when there are no Cruise ships in port ... you will not have crowds and it will be a much better experience!

What an exhilarating way to experience St Maarten from the air!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! If adventure is what you're looking for, adventure you will get in this video. Join me and my bestie as we zip our way from one exciting ride to the next at the Rainforest Adventure Park St. Maarten.
The Rainforest Adventure Park is located on the Dutch side of the island and is home to:
- the Flying Dutchman, the world's steepest zip line
- the Sentry Hill Zip line, an adrenaline-pumping less steep, yet still funtastic zip line
- the Schooner in which you go flying down the hill in an inflatable on a dry slip at maximum speed
- and a cool museum where you can find out about the island's history.
The observatory deck located all the way at the top of the hill is where you can stand in awe of the gorgeous views and it comes with a bar!!!! Enjoy 360 degree views of St. Maarten. You can even see the neighboring islands of Anguilla, Saba, St. Barth, St. Kitts, Nevis and Statia.
But that's not all, you can also grab an island lunch with a drink or come back in the evening hours for a beautiful Caribbean dinner with cocktails at Emilio's, the restaurant located in the park. More on this restaurant in a future video ;-)

Sentry Hill Zip Lines (Including POV) - Rainforest Adventures Sint Maarten Caribbean
The Sentry Hill ziplines are located on the Rockland Estate on the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten. It was quite a surprise to find a collection of white knuckle experiences (including the world's steepest zipline) on a tiny Caribbean island, but it was a lot of fun checking them out. On some of the ziplines you were not permitted to film, but I managed to get permission to film POV on one of the lines. I paired up with fellow roller coaster enthusiast Graham Jones for the day and we rode the attractions together. I hope you enjoy the video and the wonderful scenery!
