TRAVELING TO HONDURAS // Welcome to Copán Ruinas

Traveling to Honduras welcome to Copán Ruinas. This is the start of a travel series of Copan Ruinas, Honduras. This is a quick look at my trip from Portland Oregon down to Copan Ruinas; and how I traveled there. Part of my goal is to show how safe Honduras really is, and why it makes a great place to travel or backpack, even solo like myself.

I will be uploading weekly videos with footage from all the amazing places to see in Copan Ruinas, including the most famous location: the Copan Mayan Ruins. They are some of the most famous Mayan ruins of Central America, and I will give a personal tour of them! Also I'll be uploading tour videos of the Copan Hot Water Springs, the Macaw Mountain, Organic coffee plantations, horseback riding tours and so much more. I hope you enjoy this introduction to this amazing area, and can learn more about the fascinating history behind some of the oldest Mayan history sites of this area.

A Tourist's Guide to Copan, Honduras

I set off from San Salvador at 4.30am, driving to the Guatemalan border, stopping off at the El Salvadorian town of Santa Ana before crossing over. Then after two hours of driving across the pot-holed roads of Guatemala, we finally reach the border with Honduras.

Then we get to see the Copan ruins, as well as visiting the nearby town.

A long day, but well worth it.

Honduras travel vlog, exploring Copán ????????

In this Honduras Travel vlog, I explored the town of Copán in Honduras. This town is mainly known for its nearby ruins, however, the town offers a chilled back and colourful atmosphere that is interesting to soak up after a day at the ruins. I first went to a tea, coffee, and cacao plantation and got the chance to taste their artisanal products. In the morning I explored the ruins of Copán that date back to the 6th century! They are some of the most rural Maya ruins I visited during my visit to Central America. I spent the afternoon walking around the cobbled streets of Copán and bought a must-have local accessory (a hat!). I finished my trip by spending the afternoon with the group at the local hot springs!

Copan: Maya Ruins in Honduras ????????

Backpacking through Honduras in 2020 for the first time and we visited the Copan Ruins. We came in via road from Guatemala to see the ruins of the Mesoamerican city. This former capital of a Maya Kingdom had been on my bucket-list for a while, but I hadn't been able to figure out a way to get there until a few months ago. This video should provide you with a brief introduction to the Copan and it's history in a fun way. As usual let me know if you have any questions about the place and I will get back to you asap

Country in Central America
Honduras is a Central American country with Caribbean Sea coastlines to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. In the tropical rainforest near Guatemala, the ancient Mayan ceremonial site Copán has stone-carved hieroglyphics and stelae, tall stone monuments. In the Caribbean Sea are the Bay Islands, a diving destination that's part of the 1,000km-long Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. ― Google

Tegucigalpa
Capital of Honduras
Tegucigalpa is the capital city of Honduras. Set in a central valley surrounded by mountains, it’s known for its well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture. The main Plaza Morazán is dominated by the 18th-century Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel, with its baroque interior. The Museum of National Identity traces the country’s history. It includes a virtual tour of the Copán Mayan ruins of western Honduras. ― Google

Copan Honduras Travel Guide | 90+ Countries with 3 Kids

Join us for a tour of Copan, the Copan Ruins and Macaw Mountain!

Because of the ruins, in fact, Copán has always existed as a tourism base, so the town exudes an inviting, familial atmosphere.

The centerpiece of a visit, of course, is Las Copán Ruinas, the remains of the ancient Mayan city and temple grounds. The extant structures you see today are built on top of earlier, older temples and ceremonial centers.

The Copán ruins aren’t as massive or extensive as other sites, but none touches Copán for the amount of sculpture and carved stone. And there’s a great museum with a reconstructed temple and some of the thousands upon thousands of artifacts recovered from the ruins.

You can see macaws all around or you can take a tour at Macaw Mountain and learn all about these beautiful birds.

Here you can wander through acres of natural forest and manicured gardens, along walkways that connect to soaring aviaries filled with parrots, parakeets, tropical owls, and more. There’s a great little lunch grill, and the opportunity for some hands-on interaction with gigantic macaws.

Enjoy the video and let us know where you're watching from!!!

Shancon Central America #31 Copan Ruins,????????Honduras

In #31, I shared my experiences in Copan Ruins,????????Honduras.(2021.12.07)

From Copan town walk to Copan ruins is about 2km, they open from Tuesday to Sunday 8am-4pm everyday. The ticket for international tourist is 360 lempiras(you can also pay 15usd insdead of it)and they accept to pay with the card,if you are from Central America countries the ticket price for you is 8 usd.

I spent 3 hours in Copan Ruins that day.

From Tegucigalpa to Copan Ruinas(Copan ruins town) usually you have to take a transfer in San Pedro Sula, from Tegucigalpa to San Pedro Sula the local bus you pay around 160 lempiras then from San Pedro Sula to Copan Ruinas about 120 lempiras.

I heard there are direct bus from Tegucigalpa to Copan Ruinas, but some people paid 800 lempiras or something with big bus company, some people said it is like 300 lempiras or something by local bus.

You can also come to Copan from ????????Guatemala easily~just about 10km to the border.

Copan Ruinas Honduras // Mayan Ruins Private Tour

Copan Ruinas Honduras has amazing Mayan Ruins and is a World Heritage Site. They have some incredibly preserved temples, ball courts, tunnels and much more! This was a day spent exploring the site there, and I was given a private tour from an awesome guide named Cesar Flores.

He guided me through the entire site and explained the purpose for each building in this ancient Mayan city; along with the culture and their history there. I wish I could have put it all into this video, but to keep it time efficient, this is what it came to. I really recommend traveling to Copan Ruinas and visiting this Mayan World Heritage site. Words can’t express how special and amazing this area truly is!

Also, a BIG thank you to the staff at the Copan Ruinas Archeology Park for allowing me to fly my drone there, and for the amazing hospitality they showed me! Thank You for making this video possible, you guys rock! (no pun intended)

Marina Copan Hotel - Honduras 4K

Hola amigos and welcome to another hotel review.
This one of the excellent Marina Copan Hotel in the town close to the Maya ruins of Copan.

As you can see from the video there are many room configurations and the colonial design with inner gardens and many open sitting areas as opposed to one building ,makes it a nice and open place to be like a finca (ranch).
One of the hotels i know i will return to if a similar trip happens to be.
Breakfast offers local as well as international standards.
The deluxe suite is also called premium or supreme in different countries.
