THINGS TO DO In Bogota, Colombia

In this episode we explore some things to do in Bogota, Colombia. We visit the Casa De Moneda and explore their fabulous coin collection. And we also visit the former house of Simon Bolivar, which has been turned into a museum by the Colombian Government. Bogota is a vibrant, colorful, and energetic city with lots of things to do. This is only to give you a starting point when thinking about things to do in Bogota.

Travel and transportation in Bogota is very easy. We recommend taking a taxi in Bogota rather than renting a car. Renting a car would only be a good thing if you plan to travel outside of the city. — About Exploring Colombia —
Colombia, a country which many only know because of it’s violent past, has been on my list since I went to South America for my first long-term trip in 2012. 6 Years later and with 5 weeks to spend it was finally time to properly explore my country number 9 on the continent.

For the first part of the trip I’ll be traveling with my mate David to the historical city of Cartagena, some picturesque Carribean islands and to the city of Medellin where we get to learn about the violent past and the transformation of the country. After a few days in the capital Bogota I’ll be joined by my good friend Stefan to learn salsa and take on some outdoor adventures in Cali before heading up to Santa Marta where we checkout the most beautiful beaches, float down rivers and hike through the mountains.

Exploring La Candelaria | Top things to do when visiting Bogotá

We're Lee and Leah. We spent much of the last year and a half travelling around Ireland due to Covid restrictions, but in August we packed our bags and got on a one way flight to South America, which we plan on spending the next four months travelling around.

Our first stop was Bogotá, Colombia. In this video we wandered around the Colonial streets of La Candelaria, admiring the colourful buildings, and Graffiti, and eating Pizza at Pizza Candelaria.

We are looking forward to documenting our travels and adventures through South America over the next four months. Apologies for the low quality video. Our camera was on the wrong settings!!

Hope you enjoy the video, let us know what you think in the comments section below, and be sure to hit that subscribe button.

Walking in the streets of Bogota Colombia - Ep.1

Bogota is the Capital of Colombia in South America. In this episode I give you a glimpse of the must see places like the Plaza Bolivar and the Gold Museum. The weather in Bogota is usually around 12-18 degrees Celsius so it's a nice getaway from the heat of where I live. The traffic here is usually pretty bad so getting
from one place to another is not the easiest of things.

This video is made to tell you what is currently going on in Medellin, why the students are protesting and what you should do in such situations.

In this video Sam will talk about the current student situation. Since the change to Duque, they have been changed announced, that not everyone is happy with.

Everything is the same out of the protest zone. If you don't get in the middle of a protest and if you avoid going out around the protest time, you'll be totally fine.

Make yourself a favor and keep distance to protests.
