???? Tawang is a beautiful town at 10,000 ft in the State of Arunachal Pradesh, I visited there in May month and summed up my trip into 3 Part series. The Part-1 include the first 3 days of the trip, Travelling from Delhi to Guwahati and then Guwahati to Tawang, the 2300 km journey from delhi.

Tawang is a mountain town in Asia. India considers it to be part of the state of Arunachal Pradesh, while China claims it as part of South Tibet. It’s home to the 17th-century Tawang Monastery, a hilltop structure housing a massive gilded Buddha statue. The War Memorial commemorates soldiers who died in the 1962 Chinese-Indian War. Nearby, tranquil Penga Teng Tso (P. T. Tso) Lake attracts migratory birds in summer.

Ep 1 Guwahati to Shergaon to Bomdila | Tawang Tour, Arunachal Pradesh, North East India
In this tour we will be covering Tawang Circuit of Arunachal pradesh. There are two routes from Guwahati, one via Bhalukpong and other one via Shergaon, we decided to start the journey via Shergaon route and end it via Bhalukpong route.
Bomdila doesn’t have much to see, it is basically a halt point for the travelers, it is better to start the journey as early as you will enjoy few hours of your time at Shergaon.
if you are looking at direct travel from Bomdila to Dirang then after seeing this episode you can see our next video ie EP 2 with the title Bomdila to Dirang, which has Bomdila market, monastery and then journey to Dirang.

We had breakfast at Khar khua restaurant, near Mangaldoi. This is a decent, neat and clean restaurant on the highway that takes you to Bomdila.
Journey after Rowta - You can travel via Orang or via Bharab kunda. We took the Orang route.
When you are traveling to Arunachal pradesh, one needs to have ILP certificate which is a permit to enter Arunachal pradesh. You can get the ILP either online or offline directly from the office. Here is the link where you can apply ILP online -
ILP fee is Rs 100 per person, usually you get ILP within 24 hours if you apply online but better to keep space of 2 days for this.
Arunachal Pradesh check post at Balemu - At this place our ILP got checked and there is a similar check post at Bhalukpong.
We had lunch at a local restaurant Green view restaurant in chain, After that we proceeded towards bomdila, halt at Shergaon - their we had Thukpa - price Rs 70 per bowl.
Dinner at Bomdila - Sunshine restaurant - This was good and decent eatery,
Overnight stay at Bomdila - we stayed at Circuit house and paid Rs 2500 for the same, we got this accommodation through some reference.

The Bum La Pass is located about 37 km away from Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, at the Indo-China border above 15,200 ft above sea level.
The journey to Bum La Pass is possible only by Sumo Cars as the road is very bad, but the journey is worth taking for the nature's scenic and awe striking beauty.

➞MADHURI LAKE (Sangestar Tso) -
Formed by a flash flood after an earthquake in the year 1950, Madhuri Lake is originally known as Shonga-tser Lake, which is one of the most popular lakes in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The lake was renamed so after the shooting of Bollywood movie Koyla, starring Madhuri Dixit, the beautiful actress.
➞ SELA PASS - is a high-altitude mountain pass located on the border between the Tawang and West Kameng Districts of Arunachal Pradesh state in India. It has an elevation of 13700ft and connects the Indian Buddhist town of Tawang to Dirang and Guwahati.
➞Nuranang Falls - some 100 metres high fall, is located in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in this part of the country, yet is unknown to many travelers.

The road took us from the Beautiful Tawang to various beautiful and important places on the way to Guwahati like the enormous Jung Waterfalls, the historic Jaswantgarh, SeLa, and towns like Dirang, Bomdila, Shergaon, Udalguri, Mangaldoi and Amingaon.
The Guwahati - Tawang ride was completed with about 1200kms and 2800INR of fuel throughout.
The motorcycle, Royal Enfield Classic 350 Reborn Chrome Bronze performed extremely well in all conditions.

Ep 6 Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh | Monastery visit, | Tawang War Memorial | Tawang Light & sound show
Tawang is headquarter town of Tawang district, located at 450 km distance from Guwahati, It is one of most visited tourist destinations in Arunachal pradesh, its altitude is 10000 ft.
In this video you will see our visit of Tawang monastery, Food exploration in Tawang market, visit to the local market of Tawang and also visit to the Tawang war memorial.
This was our 6th day of our Tawang tour, this video was shot on 14th April 2022.
Tawang Monastery - We started our day with Tawang Monastery which is one of the biggest gompa in India. We met guru ji in the monastery who has given us insights about the monastery. Nearabout 500 monks stays in this monastery.
Old Market, Tawang - We explored the market, you will find many restaurants & hotels around this area, many shops selling woolens & shoes.
Dragon Restaurant - We had lunch Momos & Veg Thenthuk in one of the restaurants in the Old market.
Tawang war memorial - This memorial is built in Buddhist architecture, in the memory of india martyrs who sacrificed their life in Indo-China War 1962.
There is room in which information about subedar Joginder singh information is written he was the commander who fought bravely with chinese along with others.
Timings of Light and sound show - 5.30 pm daily.
In next episode you will see Bumla pass which is located at 15200 ft,It is the India China border LAC.
In the month of April we got to see snowfall in Bumla.

Tawang is situated 448 km north-west of state capital Itanagar at an elevation of approximately 3,048 metres (10,000 ft). The town lies to the north of the Tawang Chu river valley, roughly 10 miles (16 km) south of the Line of Actual Control with China. The town once served as the district headquarters of West Kameng district. In 1989, the present day Tawang district to the north of the Sela Pass was split off as a separate district.
