Snorkeling and Sunset Tour in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica
Snorkeling just outside of Manuel Antonio National Park at sunset is an absolute must in Costa Rica! You’ll see beautiful fish and coral in pleasant water that’s easy to navigate.

Good morning everyone, I'm Samantha and welcome to our Mytanfeet Youtube channel. This morning we're going to do a catamaran cruise, we're departing from Marina Pez Vela here in Quepos, by Manuel Antonio. We're going to go cruise around, do some snorkeling, and see some beautiful beaches, and we're very excited so let's go.
Marina Pez Vela is only a 10 minute drive from Manuel Antonio so the catamaran cruise is one of the best things to do in Manuel Antonio to enjoy a day out on the water.
So they just called our group and we're going to go board the catamaran.
Our catamaran had two levels, both with plenty of covered seating areas. In addition to the seating areas, the catamaran had 2 waterslides and trampolines for a fun and relaxing time. As soon as we set sail, our captain gave us a short introduction of what the cruise would be like,
things we might see and where we'll sail to.
We sailed out of the marina heading south, passing by a couple beaches and bays and then headed towards Manuel Antonio National Park. We passed by Espadilla beach first which is the public beach outside the national park and then stopped by Espadilla South Beach which is inside the national park.
The tour doesn't stop at the national park though so we didn't get off the boat but the boat captain explained a bit about the national park and why this park is one of the most visited and considered one of the most beautiful parks in Costa Rica.
One of the other must do things in Manuel Antonio is to visit the national park. You can hike, swim and see wildlife and we highly recommend to hire a guide so that you can enhance your experience at the park, we have lots of blog posts about Manuel Antonio National Park which will be in the description below.
Afterwards, we started sailing back out and stopped near Biesanz Beach for about an hour and a half to swim, snorkel, jump off the boat and enjoy the water.
Although the clarity for snorkeling wasn't great when we went, it was really nice to just float around in the warm water and enjoy the beautiful coastal jungle views. The kids on the catamaran had a ton of fun jumping off and going down the slides.
After the fun in the water, the crew brought out lunch which was delicious. We had pasta, grilled fish skewers, watermelon and pineapple, it was super filling and awesome to refuel with this delicious food after swimming in the ocean. On board, they offer drinks for free and drinks for purchase.
After lunch, we started sailing back to the marina. It was nice to sit back and enjoy the ride after a morning of swimming and eating, and we were very relaxed as we headed back.

Today we take the bus from Quepos to Manuel Antonio. The journey to get there is short and cheap, under 500 Colones per person. We get out near El Avion restaurant, the most famous restaurant in the area. The restaurant is in a shape of an airplane and is very well known for its beautiful views and wonderful sunset setting. We’ve been wanting to go to El Avion for quite sometime as we’ve heard a lot about it but once we get there we realise the restaurant is extremely overpriced, the customer service there was also not the kindest, the staff was rude and not accommodating. We decided to keep walking and we found an amazing restaurant called Raphael’s Terrazas. Raphael’s Terrazas is cheaper than El Avion, with incredible customer service and the most stunning view over the Pacific Coast.
However, later we take you around the down town of Manuel Antonio, near the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park. Here I show you the cheapest & tastiest food / restaurant in Costa Rica. Watch to find out the name of it. We also take a walk down Playa Espadilla, the beautiful beach by the national park which is free to enter - perfect surf and snorkel spot. We also go on a bush walk down the river where we can see some exotic animals. Today we can really feel the rainy season in Costa Rica. My name is Nike and I have been living and sailing on my sailboat Karl since 2013. After a massive refit marathon, I finally cast off the lines and learnt to solo sail my 37-foot Reinke Super 10 that I called Karl. I am publishing videos (at the moment every two weeks) about the ups and downs of living, repairing and sailing my boat.
Since January 2022, I have a new permanent crew member: my furry friend Boga. When I started out, I did not know much about boat repair or solo sailing. Since I am still out there, I hope that my story inspires others, to chase their dreams, even if they might think they are not cut out for it. There is always a way, so I'll see you out there!
