Street Food in Pakistan - ULTIMATE 16-HOUR PAKISTANI FOOD Tour in Lahore, Pakistan!

Thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market):

Also, just published a full Pakistan travel guide:

I’m very excited to share this first full street food in Pakistan video with you! We started our trip in Lahore, a vibrant, colorful, and packed full of food city. Our first day in Lahore turned out to be a 16 hour street food marathon in Lahore, and it was an amazing day!

Get more details on my Pakistan Travel Guide:

Sadiq Halwa Puri ( - We began the day with a very common breakfast throughout Pakistan, halwa puri, but along with chana curry (chickpea curry). We ate off the car, enjoying every bit of the freshly fried puris and curry.
Total price - 640 PKR ($4.78)

Chacha Feeka Lassi ( - Next we drove over to Gawalmandi, one of the most legendary areas in Lahore for food. We headed straight to a breakfast staple, the lassi shop and had the most creamy heavy milkshake I’ve ever had, called a pera lassi.

Roasted chickpeas - 25 PKR ($0.19) - After exiting an alley, right in front of us was a man selling chickpeas and corn roasted in black Himalayan salt. It’s a very common street food snack in Pakistan.

Sweet potato - 80 PKR ($0.60) - Sweet potato is also a very common street food snack in Lahore, seasoned with masala and a type of citrus juice.

Baba Kulfi Wala - Next we headed over to Shah Alami Market, another huge and bustling market in Lahore.

Kulfi - 20 PKR ($0.15) each - One of the most famous places to eat ice cream in Lahore is Baba Kulfi Wala, and you’ll find a crowd of people standing around the corner of the road eating sticks of their famous kulfi.

Orange juice - 50 PKR ($0.37)

Chana chaat - 120 PKR ($0.89) per plate - One of my personal favorite Pakistani street food snacks of the day was chana chaat, a chickpea snack. He added in all sorts of spices, chutneys, and seasonings, to create a deliciously refreshing snack.

Butt Karahi Tikka Restaurant - Easily one of the most well known restaurants in Lahore is Butt Karahi, specializing in curry made in a rounded pan, called a karahi (we will be eating a lot of karahi’s in Pakistan!). We ordered both a mutton karahi and chicken karahi. Both were amazing, filled with spices and butter, but the tenderness of the mutton was the winner.
Total price - 5,600 PKR ($41.84)

Siddique Fish Corner - You’ll notice that Lahore seems to come alive at night, and street food is everywhere at night. We began the evening with Siddique Fish Corner, one of the best fried fish stalls in Lahore. It was awesome, and so busy.
Total price - 400 PKR ($2.99)

Khalifa Balochi Sajji - Another Pakistani dish I wanted to try was chicken sajji, a type of hand rotisserie chicken. The atmosphere and cooking method was incredible.
Total price - 390 PKR ($2.91)

Khan Baba Restaurant - Finally for our last dinner on this 16 hour day of food in Pakistan, we went to one of Ali’s favorite restaurants in Lahore, Khan Baba. The goat chops were impressive as was the korma curry.

Again, massive thank you to Ali, from Pakistan Travel Mart for hosting us in Pakistan, taking us around, and organizing everything.

Unique PAKISTANI Street Food TOUR!! Fruit Golgappa, Taka-Tak & Chargha | Lahore, Pakistan

???????? MANAKY:
???? MANAKY:

After another fun and eventful day in Lahore, Pakistan, I had to end my night with an epic street food tour! Join me on my shocking and mouthwatering Pakistani street food tour of Lahore, where I try taka-tak, chargha, golgappa, and much more!

My friends Rashid and Adeel from Manaky and I began our nighttime street tour of bustling Lahore at dusk. I couldn’t wait to finally have some chargha and taka-tak! They’re famous here in Lahore, so I waited my entire trip to have them here!

???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH:

Our first stop was an incredible golgappa, or pani puri, stall called Tofel Bhai. This vendor makes 12 different types of golgappa using roughly 10 different chutneys. They mix chana and fruit chaats to make them really unique!

They gave us a bowl of citrusy and fruity pani, which I loved sampling even before we added it to the puris. I could taste orange, lemon, tamarind, and mint in it. It was the most amazing pani I’ve ever had!

These vendors create a mixture and let you sample it to see if you like it. I couldn’t wait to dive in and try them. He made 12 different combinations of golgappa and fed me one so I could sample it.

The banana in it was unreal! I also loved the tamarind and dried fruit. It made it super unique!

Then, we dove in! This golgappa was absolutely heavenly, and better yet, it was also spicy! There were so many flavors in the chana-potato-cabbage-masala mixture, and the citrusy pani added even more! It was like a roller-coaster of flavors on my tongue!

Each golgappa was slightly different, containing a different combination of sauces and chutneys. I couldn’t get enough of them. The fruit made it incredible, and the pani was good enough to drink by itself!

I liked the green chilies in the second round we ordered. It was both sweet and spicy! But you have to eat them fast, because otherwise they get soggy!

I ate some without the pani, which were like a fruit salad with lots of yogurt! I loved the crunch. This was easily the best and most unique golgappa I’ve ever had!

From there, we went to have a famous chicken dish called chargha at King Chargha House. This chargha is steamed and then fried. They also sell organs, including liver, stomach, and neck.

We got a whole chicken, which was so tasty! I couldn’t believe how flavorful it was. I’d never had chicken that had been steamed and then fried. The rich masala was unbelievable!

Dipping the chicken into the raita was fantastic. It was juicy and crispy without being too fried. This was truly a special fried chicken! I was full, but I couldn’t wait to have some taka-tak!

From there, we drove two minutes to a taka-tak vendor called Gurda Chanp Shop who had live chickens on top of cages. The taka-tak vendor offers a mixture of heart, liver, testicles, and brains.

You can choose organs, meat, or both. It all gets mixed together with ginger, black pepper, tomatoes, onions, and more. It’s like a big meat scramble!

We got a mix of meat and organs and some naan. It was everything I was hoping it would be. There were so many different textures! It was spicy, oily, and savory.

The mixture of organs, meat, ginger, and chilies was fantastic! You wouldn’t even know it was organ meat. It felt like scrambled eggs. I couldn’t stop eating it. It was my favorite dish of the trip!

It was good enough to eat with a spoon! It’s the ultimate Lahore dish. If you don’t try this dish in Lahore, you weren’t there!

Then, we drove on minute to finish up with some Kashmiri chai at Green Tea Shop. It’s made from green tea and contains milk, but the chai is pink!

It’s very milky and sweet and is served with nuts on top. It was a great way to end my food tour!

Diverse Lahore STREET FOOD TOUR!! Bun Plaster & Spicy Chow Mein | Lahore, Pakistan

???????? MANAKY:
???? MANAKY:

With my final night in Lahore upon me, I was ready to go out with a bang! Come along with me as I go on one last street food tour in Lahore, Pakistan, where I tried bun plaster, spicy chow mein, and more!

I’d be diving into several dishes I hadn’t tried yet, so I was super excited! My guides Rashid and Adeel from Manaky, and my local guide Adil, and I, started with some delicious and creamy malai chai from a 40-year-old stand called Iqbal Tea Store.

???????? ADIL:
???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH:

The chai was super thick and chunky on top, and very hot! We dipped a bit of bread into it like I do in Miami. The bread was nice and buttery and went well with the creamy chai.

The chai helped me wake up for our food tour! After a quick drive, we made it to Hameed Bun Plaster, a local burger shop. They sell shami kababs, which are lentil fritters.

They also offer bun plaster, which are basically fried egg sandwiches cooked on a grill with a shami kabab, lots of butter, salt, and pepper. They even have French toast!

I’m a big fan of egg sandwiches, and this one was so good! I loved the fluffy bun, the butter, and the pepper and salt. The soft shami kabab was incredible, too. It was one of my favorite dishes in the city!

From there, we headed to Xa-Owng Chinese Restaurant to get some chow mein. They also offer soups and have an outdoor dining area. To make the chow mein, the cook throws red onions, cabbage, water, chicken, Manchurian sauce, and noodles into a wok.

The noodles were thick and extremely fresh and tasty. I liked the spice from the black pepper and the sweet-and-sour Manchurian sauce as well. The crunch from the onions and cabbage was fantastic as well.

It reminded me of noodle dishes I’d eaten in China, but these were much spicier! It had my mouth on fire, but it was so good!

Finally, for our last stop, we headed to Dera Restaurant. I was stuffed, but I couldn’t not go all-out on my last night in Pakistan! The restaurant had a nice outdoor terrace and even live musicians playing flutes and drums.

The seating area was nice and relaxing—you could actually lay back and chill out. Around us were lots of cooks making everything from chargha to taka-tak and grilled meat.

We ordered lamb rice, mutton karahi, and three types of naan: plain, flaxseed, and garlic. You use the naan and eat the karahi right out of the pan, which is called a karahi.

The mutton karahi was tender, oily, and ful of flavor. It wasn’t very hot and tasted outstanding!

Meanwhile the lamb in the rice was extremely juicy and paired nicely with the yellow rice, which contained raisins. We also had some raita, which contained almost no herbs, but was still super tasty.

But my favorite was the karahi. It wasn’t my favorite karahi of the trip—the rooster karahi I ate the previous night takes the cake on that. But it was still phenomenal!

After eating, I was so stuffed, I had to lay back and relax! What an amazing way to end my trip through Pakistan.

Welcome back to LAHORE PAKISTAN! We are taking you on the ULTIMATE street food tour across Lahore! This is our second episode from our Pakistani Street Food series, and we are eating all of the BEST Lahori dishes that we didn’t try in the first episode.

We start the day with a traditional Pakistani breakfast - Chanay (boiled chickpeas stewed with spices and vegetables). It was served with fresh naan. Our second breakfast was Lahore’s famous Nihari (rich stew with slow cooked beef, bone marrow and brain). This dish is especially popular in the winter! Next we hopped in a rickshaw that took us into the centre of the Walled City so we could visit Wazir Khan Mosque, which is a gorgeous 17th century mosque with a bird’s eye view over the ancient city.

For dinner, we tried a traditional Punjabi Fish Fry (river fish coated in gram flour and deep fried) which was served with a delicious apricot chutney. We also tried arguably Lahore’s BEST dish - Karahi (mutton or chicken cooked with tomatoes, chilies, cream and spices). Karahi refers to the pot it is cooked in. It was MASSIVE!!! We finished our HUGE day of eating Pakistani food with Pakistani sweets - a triple halwa plate: pumpkin halwa, carrot halwa, and lentil halwa.

Want to visit these places yourself? We highly recommend booking your Pakistani travel experience with Manaky. This adventure through Pakistan would not have been possible without their expertise in travel and amazing hospitality:
