Rio de Janeiro Guide Day 2: Held Up In A FAVELA!
Important favela tips:
Heya! This is the vlog from our second day back in the land of ice cool cerveja and tiny, colourful houses. In this day guide to Rio de Janeiro we started the morning off with a cruisy bicycle ride through Ipanema and around Lagoa Rodrigo da Freitas before heading back through Leblon to have lunch in Copacabana! Phew!
But that was just the first half of the day... We then jumped in an Uber to head to Santa Teresa but accidentally ended up in a favela along the way which quickly turned the day from joyous to sour (just watch the video). Luckily our accommodation was located near Lapa and Cinelândia where we took you with us for a much needed calm down drink.

HOW TO STAY SAFE IN BRAZIL
HOW TO STAY SAFE IN BRAZIL – in today’s episode, I talk about Brazil and staying safe when travelling in South America’s beautiful country. A couple of weeks before posting this video, a British family were on holiday in Rio de Janeiro and took a wrong turn into a favela with their hire car. They were shot at and the women in the passenger seat was injured. It’s very important to be alert while here in Brazil and take a few common-sense safety precautions…

WELCOME TO SHAUNVLOG - I'm Shaun Alexander and this is my YouTube vlog channel about my life and adventures. I'm from Edinburgh in Scotland, one of only a handful of Scottish YouTubers / vloggers, and vlog about my daily life in Scotland and other countries I live at times, Scottish culture, life, the world, travel, culture and everything in between.
I just love to tell stories and have been lucky enough to make this passion a job, having worked as a writer/journalist, photographer and corporate content executive during my career. We are privileged to live in an era where we can tell our stories directly to an audience using new media. Storytelling on social media is my passion and it is also my new career (I’m also an entrepreneur in the space), so put everything into providing the best content I can here on my YouTube channel, over on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
