We went to Magens Bay Beach, and the drive was quite scenic as you can see on De Beltjien Road & Mafolie Road, where we got views of the beautiful port area with 3 cruise ships docked (MSC Divina, Royal Princess and Regal Princess) . We also passed by Fort Christian, Franklin D. Roosevelt Park and saw a hurricane damaged area of the island.
We also included some scenic clips of our cruise ship sailing away from St Thomas, so hope you enjoy that as much as we did. This was part of our December Eastern Caribbean cruise on the MSC Divina.

Cruising is back and we are in Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas on the Celebrity Edge. We're going to give you a tour of what you’ll experience here when you walk around the port. This can help you to understand if you should pick an excursion or not. Stay tuned to find out what we thought and how you can prepare for your day in Charlotte Amalie.
For arrivals and departures at Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas cruise port it is nice there is a dock and no tendering needed. The dock is not long at all and the shore excursions pick up is right at the end. If you are looking to take a taxi you walk through the port shopping area and there is a taxi pick up on the other side. It only takes a few minutes to walk through the shopping area. In terms of masks you are supposed to wear them when inside and outside at the port.
In terms of port atmosphere there is a shopping area at the Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas port. The shopping area has all the typical shops and essentials you see in a port. There are a lot of souvenir shops that are all locally owned and a camera store with crucial items you may have forgotten ashore. There are a couple bars and restaurants you can stop to have a drink, enjoy the views and take a mask break. Also if you have forgotten anything there is a small pharmacy as well. The port was not very busy as most people getting off the ship did excursions and there were some others like us who walked around the port or took local transportation. There is a lot of shade which is nice if you are waiting for people in the shops or have done a bit of shopping and are waiting for your excursion. There are some renovations in the back so there will be even more shops and shade.
A question a lot of people ask is what things to do in Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas? We just wanted to mention a couple things that are close to the port to do. If you are vaccinated most cruise lines allow you to explore the port on your own. Be sure to check the rules for each port with your cruise line. With Celebrity we were able to explore on our own. We are focusing on what is right at the port but wanted to highlight a few options that aren't far away. There are some beautiful beaches you can head to including Coki Beach, Magens Bay, Sapphire Beach and Secret Harbour Beach. The oldest standing structure in the Virgin Islands is Fort Christian and from there you have gorgeous views of Charlotte Amalie Harbor. If you are looking for something on the more extreme side you might want to check out Tree Limin’ Xtreme Zipline. I have never done a zip line before but the views do look amazing. We know there are a lot more experiences to do. If you are choosing to go on your own, be sure to check it is open beforehand. Some companies in Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas have not opened yet or have adjusted hours.

I joined the US Navy in 1998, Drove 18 Wheelers across all 48 states for 7 years, been a casino dealer and poker room manager for 6 years, ran a donut shop, been a photographer for many large companies and magazines, and a content creator for car Dealership in Lafayette, Louisiana. I have been divorced twice, lived in an RV, almost declared bankruptcy, had 30K in credit card debt, sold everything I own, screwed up a lot, and fixed a lot. I have made really good money and lived broke at times. I have experienced so many ups and downs and I am ready for whatever is next.
Now, 20-plus years later, Another Huge Detour has arrived! I’m heading back out on the road in a semi-truck to create videos and see everything I can see.

St Thomas, along with St Croix and St John, form the US Virgin Islands (USVI). These islands are located in the Caribbean Sea. The USVI is a territory of the United States so individuals born here are US Citizens.
The Virgin Islands of St Thomas, St John and St Croix were previously Danish colonies during the 17th and early 18th centuries. The United States then purchased the island from Denmark for $25 million dollars in gold coins.
Tourism, trade and rum production are the primary economic activities of the US Virgin Islands. St Thomas is most noted for its lush vegetation, breathtaking views, and pristine blue waters which attract roughly 2.5 - 3 million tourists a year.
The capital and largest city of St Thomas is Charlotte Amalie with a population of 10,354 (2010, US Census). The city is named after Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel who was married to King Christian V thereby becoming Queen of Denmark. Charlotte Amalie is known for its Danish colonial architecture.
The island has a significant association with pirates. Castles named after the pirates Blackbeard (Edward Teach) and the mythical Bluebeard overlook Charlotte Amalie.

May 2022: Today we are walking Main Street and Back Street in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, USVI. Cruise passengers are back but there is no vessel in today.
Here, they can typically shop at many of the duty free stores and enjoy the colonial architecture. The Main Street revitalization projects are complete, a good use of the Covid-enforced downtime.

We recently had the opportunity to explore it to the fullest with Sunfari Adventure Tours! We ate at Pasta Go Go for breakfast, swam in the beautiful waters of Magen's Bay, Snorkeled with ALL of the fish at Coki Beach, grabbed some drinks at Abi's beach bar, took an exhilarating ride on a zapcat and ended the day on the Bama Breeze Power Boat!

St Thomas Cruise Port & Scenic Drive (Minimally Edited)
We were in Charlotte Amalie St Thomas of the US Virgin Islands via the MSC Divina. On our main TravelTouristVideos channel we had requests for the full, not sped-up, and minimally edited version of the video documenting our time at the Havensight port and the scenic drive to Magen's Bay. The views were beautiful and we saw many cruise ships including Royal Princess & our own ship. Later on we saw a beautiful sail-away from St Thomas.
