Slovenia 4K Cinematic drone 2023 ????????
In August 2023, I visited Slovenia, and I'm excited to share the highlights of my journey with you.
Slovenia, a hidden gem in the heart of Europe, is a country that captivates travelers with its stunning natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and charming cities. Nestled between Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia, this small but diverse nation has much to offer those who venture into its picturesque landscapes.
One of Slovenia's most iconic features is its breathtaking scenery. The Julian Alps dominate the northern region, offering a paradise for hikers, skiers, and nature enthusiasts. The Triglav National Park, named after the country's highest peak, Mount Triglav, is a haven for outdoor activities. Its pristine lakes, such as Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj, are framed by lush forests and snow-capped peaks, making them ideal spots for boating, swimming, and relaxation.
Speaking of Lake Bled, it's arguably Slovenia's most famous attraction. A charming island with a church at its center sits amidst the lake's emerald waters. Visitors can take a traditional pletna boat to reach the island and ring the church bell for good luck. Bled Castle, perched atop a cliff overlooking the lake, offers panoramic views and a glimpse into Slovenia's history.
For those seeking an adrenaline rush, Slovenia is a paradise for adventure sports. The emerald Soca River is renowned for white-water rafting, while the country's extensive cave systems, including Postojna Cave and Škocjan Caves, invite explorers to discover their subterranean wonders.
Slovenia's compact size means that you can easily explore different regions in a short period. Ljubljana, the capital, is a lively and green city adorned with colorful Baroque buildings and a picturesque castle perched on a hill. Strolling along the banks of the Ljubljanica River or sipping coffee in one of its charming cafes is a delightful way to experience the city's laid-back atmosphere.
Slovenia is also proud of its rich cultural heritage. The country's diverse history is reflected in its architecture, cuisine, and traditions. We recorded this 4k ultra hd video during our trip to Ljubljana, Slovenia on end of September 2021.
Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. It is the cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative centre of the country. During antiquity, a Roman city called Emona stood in the area. Ljubljana itself was first mentioned in the first half of the 12th century.
It was under Habsburg rule from the Middle Ages until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918. After World War II, Ljubljana became the capital of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia, part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It retained this status until Slovenia became independent in 1991 and Ljubljana became the capital of the newly formed state.
Our guided walking tour is about 3.72 miles (6 km) long, starts at Dragon Bridge and covers most attractions and historic sites of Ljubljana.

A church from 15th/17th century sits on a small island in the lake (Bled Island), the 11th century Bled Castle is perched on the top of a 130 meters cliff rising from the water, and the peaks of the Julian Alps set the background.

Spectacular Postojna Caves (Postojnska Jama) – Slovenia Travel 4K
This subterranean world of the Postojna Caves (Postojnska Jama) has amazed visitors for over 200 years with its jaw-dropping chambers and passageways - captured on a Sony FX30. We ride a train about 1.5 KM underground to where we explore another 1.5 KM on foot, and then ride the train back out. We have been in a few caves before, but this is our best cave experience with many of jaw-dropping moments. This is the first of my two 4K travel destination videos of Slovenia. Video was captured in May 2023 on a Sony FX30 camera, S-Cinetone (with Color Phase +2 for more natural look), with a Sony E 15mm F1.4 G lens.

Predjama Medieval Cave Castle (Predjamski Grad) - Slovenia 4K
Predjama Castle (Predjamski Grad), the largest cave castle in the world, has stood half-way up a cliff for over 800 years - in this Slovenia 4K travel video. Truly a medieval structure, it tells the story of a legendary knight Erasmus of Lueg. Built onto the mouth of a cave, it has many rooms and passageways with the cliff rock-face as an inside wall. It’s upper levels with access to the large cave is fabulous. This is the second of my two 4K travel destination videos of Slovenia.

The Soča or Isonzo is a 138-kilometer long river that flows through western Slovenia and northeastern Italy. An Alpine river in character, its source lies in the Trenta Valley in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia, at an elevation of 876 metres. The most surprising thing about the Soča River is its vibrant, emerald green color. Mineral deposits can explain this color in the water. When the sun reflects on the rock flour, it gives it a blue or green color depending on the weather. The color is incredible, and you can only believe it when you see it. The Soča river is an Alpine river, so the water temperature is always very low, ranging from 7 degrees in the spring to 14 in the summer.
