Shëngjin is a coastal town and a former municipality in Lezhë County, northwestern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality of Lezhë. The population at the 2011 census was 8,091. Shëngjin is a growing tourist destination, well known for its beaches and resort accommodations. Shëngjin is one of many cities within the District of Lezhë and is home to one of Albania's entry ports, Port of Shëngjin.
Shëngjin is located approximately 100 meters away from the waters of the Adriatic Sea, and below a mountain side called Rrenci that is approximately 159 meters in height. Shëngjin is also located approximately 60 km from the Tirana Mother Teresa International Airport.
Shëngjin offers a wide arrange of environmentally friendly activities. To the south of the city, the protected area of Kunë-Vain-Tale Nature Park is located, which offers a beautiful and undisturbed place to enjoy the natural surroundings of wetlands and seafront. Similarly, just north of city center, Rana e Hedhun in Gheg Albanian or Rera e Hedhur in standard Albanian coastal dune is located, which also offers a wonderful experience of rural and undeveloped sand dunes along the coastline.

Rana e Hedhun is perhaps one of the most fascinating destinations in Lezha. Named in the Gheg dialect of Albanian, in English, its name literally translates as “poured” or “thrown sand”, referring to the untouched sand dunes and formations along its coastline. Located only 3-4 kilometres from Shëngjin, this beach remains relatively unexplored by the larger population of tourists, revealing a rare and perhaps forgotten Mediterranean landscape.
The slope of the Mountain of Rrenc descends elegantly onto the beach, where a few yards of sand beautifully melts into the sea. The dark color of the sand contrasts spectacularly with the sea’s deep shade of blue, which gives the entire beach a particularly dramatic and awe-inspiring appearance. It’s difficult to imagine the cause of the type of unique sand formation found here.
At times, it seems as if the sand has descended from the mountain side, while in other moments, it seems that the sea has the more active role in shaping it up the slopes. Either way, it is both a simple and spectacular sight, for those seeking rare natural beauties, of which Albania has so much to offer! The pine trees surrounding the area make it an ideal spot for camping or picnics, and also for intermittently enjoying the rays of the glorious Albanian summer sun.

Bashkia Lezhe eshte nje nga 61 Bashkite e Republikes se Shqiperise, e pozicionuar ne veri-perendim te vendit. Bashkia perbehet nga 10 Njesi Administrative (Lezhe, Shengjin, Shenkoll, Zejmen, Kallmet, Dajc, Blinisht, Balldre, Kolsh, Ungrej) ka nje popullsi prej 109,646 banore ku rreth 50,000 jetojne ne Qytetin e Lezhes, dhe nje siperfaqe prej 508.4 km2.
Qyteti i Lezhes-Qender Qarku e Prefekture me te njejten emer eshte themeluar ne vitin 385 para eres re nga Dionizi i Sirakuzes.Gjate tere periudhave, qyteti i Lezhes ka luajtur rol te vecante ne historine Iliro-Shqiptare. Vete pozicioni gjeografik ku shtrihet qyteti, se bashku me rrethinat e tij, ka bere, qe Lezha qysh ne lashtesi te jete nje nder qendrat tregetare e plotiko-ushtarake me te rendesishme. Lezha, nepermjet Portit te Shengjinit, ka realizuar ne shekuj shkembime te shumta ne fusha te ndryshme ekonomike e kulturore me boten e jashteme, duke ndikuar keshtu ndjeshem ne zhvillimin shoqeror.
Eshte kjo nje nder arsyet qe, pikerisht ne kete qytet, ne momente te caktuara te historise sone jane organizuar aktivitete politiko-kulturore te livelit te larte kombetar, si : Lidhja e Lezhes ne vitin 1444, Kuvendi i Arberit ne 1703. Eshte gjithashtu e dokumentuar se ky qytet, sepaku qysh ne shekullin e VIII-te para eres re ka qene i banuar panderprerje nga popullsi iliro-arbreshe-shqiptare. Emri i tij Lisso e Lissuss gjithnje sipas studiuesve te fushes, eshte nje ngjyrim linguistik i emrit te vjeter ilir Lisi. Pra, qyteti i Lezhes, edhe perpara kthimit ne nje koloni helene nga Dionisi i Sirakuzes, deshmohet si vendbanim ilir. Mbi jeten ekonomike te Lissussit qe ne antikitet ka ndikuar fakti se ai ka qene stacion hyres i rruges Shengjin-Kosove, rruge e cila kalonte neper Zadrime per Kukes e me tej. Pas pushtimit romak Lissussi permendet si Municip, duke vazhduar te ruaje te njejten vlere ushtarake e administrative si baze detare ne Adriatikun veriror. Emri i qytetit permendet nga historiane greke e latin para eres se re; permendet ne kronikat veneciane kur ishte ne dominim te Republikes se Shen Markut, per te marre rendesi te vecante ne shekullin e XV-te, kur Heroi yne Kombetar, Gjergj Kastrioti- Skenderbeu, mblodhi ketu te parin Kuvend te Princave shqiptare dhe themeloi shtetin e pare mbi bazen e principatave. Gjate periudhes se lavdishme, Lezha ka sherbyer si Kryeqytet Diplomatik i Arberise. Ne kete qytet vdiq dhe u varros Heroi yne Kombetar Gjergj Kastrioti ne vitin 1468. Memoriali, ndertuar per te kujtuar kete figure te shquar kombetare, tashme eshte kthyer ne nje qender pelegrinazhi e cila vizitohet cdo vit nga qindra turiste, vendas e te huaj.
Shquhet Lezha per vlerat e saje historike e arkeologjike, per perspektiven mjaft premtuese ne drejtim te zhvillimit te turizmit. Eshte e nje rendesie te madhe Keshtjella Mesjetare e qytetit e ndertuar me nje stil te vecante e me nje pozicion teper interesant.Germimet arkeologjike te kryera per rreth kalase si dhe brenda mureve ilire flasin per vlera te cilat do t'i shtohen Lezhes, historise e kultures kombetare ne nje te ardhme jo te larget ne kohe. Kuvendi Franceskan, themeluar nga vete San Francesku i Asizit ne vitin 1220 paraqet interese njohje e ka vlera historiko-kulturore-edukuese. Lezha ka edhe vlera te tjera. Ka lumin Drin, i cili e pershkon qytetin mes per mes, lum i cili, ne nje vije me pak se tre km e lidh lete qytet me detin Adriatik. Pikerisht, ne qender te qytetit, prane zones arkeologjike, ka qene i ndertuar e funksiononte Porti Lumor, duke sherbyer per trasportin e mallrave ne vende te ndryshme pertej detit. Ne mendojme se riberja e ketij porti do t'ia rrisi vlerat historike dhe ekonomike qytetit tone.

Tale beach, Lezhë - Albania by Drone 4K
The Tale beach, is a long sandy beach in Lezhë. It is accessible with any kind of vehicle and is a must go if you are a fan of sandy beaches.
The beach is completely sandy and it is several kilometres long and up to 100 meters wide. The water is very clean.
There are some nice restaurants and beach bars, as well as fast foods.
Accommodation is available next to the beach, mainly in the form of apartments, hotels and apartment complexes.
There are few accommodating structures, different from other beaches. This has preserved the sand quality, which is also known for large quantity of iodine and curative properties.
Just a few minutes from Tale, in Kune-Vain lagoon, divided by the Drin River, nature is intact with high trees and an ideal place for relax.
The protected reserve has various migratory and permanent species.

Kune-Vain Lagoon known as the Drin Delta, is situated in the administrative district of Lezha, near Shëngjin , northern Albania. The Kune-Vain Lagoon was formed by accumulated sediment from the Drin and Mati rivers. The lagoon hosts a variety of fauna, among which waterfowl prevail. It is an important area for migratory and nesting waterfowl.
The site is visited by many tourists because of the restaurants and sandy beaches with clean waters. If you visit the place you want be disappointed.
