SECRET ABANDONED GHOST TOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MOJAVE DESERT...

Today we explore a hidden, and some call secret ghost town in the middle of the Mojave National Preserve.

Two of the nice abandoned cabins are maintained by volunteers as public cabins anyone can use. We tried to not give out the name in order to protect them from scumbag vandals.

Lost to the Sands of Time: The Ghost Town of Namibia

This far-flung desert town was once one of the world’s richest, but was abandoned after World War I and has been slowly sinking into the sand ever since. Take a tour of Kolmanskop, Namibia, which was known for its diamonds and was full of German miners hoping to make it big in the middle of nowhere.

Semi Abandoned Town In Nevada Desert - Creepy Buildings, Abandoned Cars & More

Driving between Las Vegas and Reno Nevada on Hwy 95, you come across the strange little semi - abandoned town of Goldfield. I often wonder what people do for a living here because really, there is pretty much nothing around for miles. This spooky town is very close to the infamous and kinda creepy Area 51. Abandoned cars in the streets and yards, abandoned homes, storage containers out in the open, deserted buildings, closed businesses all boarded up...it just seems so weird when you come from a large city environment! We LOVE it though...it's so unique! Just one of the many crazy sights you'll come across exploring the Nevada desert...truly...there is nothing quite like it! ~Kenneth King Bear

Strange Creepy Town Near Area 51 - Semi Abandoned Town in Nevada Desert - The REAL Loneliest Road!

I decided to finally take a remote back-road trick route I'd always wanted to try bypassing Tonopah on the way up from Las Vegas to Reno, Nevada. Wow, what a strange trip! A little single lane road in the middle of nowhere complete with a bizarre, sort of spooky and creepy (in a way), semi-ghost town! One of the oddest abandoned places we've seen in our years of desert travel. In over 2 hours of driving we saw not ONE other car...nor a single human being. Even when driving through the little town itself. Abandoned cars, trucks..even abandoned soda machines! But not a soul did we see! Haha..I thought being so close to area 51...maybe the aliens abducted everyone! Looks kinda like Fallout New Vegas or Nuketown. a scene straight from GTA! This is why we LOVE Nevada!! No place like it on Earth! ~Kenneth King Bear

Another Strange Odd Creepy Town In Nevada Desert Near Area 51! Abandoned Cars & Trucks

Driving North from Las Vegas we encounter the Area 51 Circle as I call it.... way out in the Nevada Desert. A vast area of odd UFO sightings, Military bases, strange quirky towns, abandoned cars and trucks and all manner of weirdness! Totally fascinating! One of the first funky towns we hit along the route is Beatty, Nevada. Entering Beatty from the South is a unique experience. You drive for a hundred miles out of Vegas and see almost nothing but desert....then you come across what looks like a permanent Flea Market. A mile long line of folks in tents, trailers and creaky buildings selling roadside treasures. It's a 7 day a week thing....and it's pretty interesting! This is the south entrance to Beatty! A very old town from the early days of the West....Beatty has a lot of cool heritage buildings and it's also the gateway to Death Valley. We decided to shoot a video us driving through the town one recent trip. Hope you enjoy the ride along with us! ~Kenneth

Abandoned! Creepy Spooky Town & Strange Side Road Close To Area 51- Old Cars & Trucks-Nevada Desert

Spooky, strange unusual town on a remote side road not far past Area 51 way out in the Nevada Desert. Almost ghost town status! Kinda like a spooky Halloween...except all year round! Super interesting mind you. One of the oddest semi-abandoned places we've yet come across in our desert explorations. Kinda like Fallout New Vegas or even Nuketown. A scene straight out of GTA. We sometimes take this desolate road on our way driving from Las Vegas to Reno Nevada. Abandoned cars & trucks, creepy old buildings, even an active Lithium plant...yet we've never seen a car or a person the 3 times we've taken this route. This time, we even saw some rare Wild Burros....cool! Overall though...one of the spookiest places we've seen...and we've seen some strange stuff in our years of driving through the vast Desert Southwest! This place..is definitely worth a second look! Looks like Nuketown USA! Just one of the reasons we LOVE Nevada! ~Kenneth King Bear

Semi-Abandoned Spooky Desert Train Station On Route to Area 51 Near Las Vegas Nevada

A cool although kind of creepy old semi abandoned train station way out in the California/Nevada desert close to the Nevada border. This is a back route we often take to Las Vegas and our Area 51 adventures. The old abandoned town & buildings of Kelso used to be a regular stop of the Union Pacific Railroad. Closed in the 1960's...the old depot has been restored and set up as a museum...while the remaining surroundings are pretty much a creepy ghost town falling apart in the desert sun. One of the cool abandoned places we come across in our desert travels! We find lots of stuff in this sort of Area 51 Triangle....you know...a few hundred miles in either direction from Area 51...to have some of the weirdest, spookiest, creepiest stuff we've seen anywhere! Near the end of this vid, I caught part of a big Union Pacific Freight Train picking up speed as it headed towards Los Angels from Phoenix. Hope you enjoy our little visit to Kelso Station! ~Kenneth King Bear

Abandoned Creepy Places, Towns Cars & Trucks - Route 66 to Area 51 Nevada /California Desert

On our way up along Route 66 coming from the California desert, heading towards Las Vegas and then to Area 51 in the Nevada desert, we come across some burned out, spooky, creepy and scary abandoned places. Some former homes, former businesses often entire abandoned towns! All mysteriously burned and/or destroyed and decaying.....seemingly left to rot in the scorching desert sun! It's a vast spread of 150 miles in ANY direction of Area 51....what we refer to as the Area 51 Triangle. One strange and unusual stretch of desert!
Here is a look at some bizarre, abandoned, burned out and just plain spooky places we come across in our desert travels! ~Kenneth St. King

Strange Abandoned Cars in Nevada Desert Near Area 51 - Burning Man Art Cars

We come across some creepy weird and unusual things in our desert travels. Some are downright crazy! Abandoned cars, ghost towns, dead animals. None more strange, in a funny way, than the Hippie Freak Cars not far past the infamous Area 51.The freaky cars are in Goldfield Nevada. It's on the way from Las Vegas to Reno on Highway 95. Hahaha...it must have taken someone a lot of time to build these things! They're actually quite cool...and I think they may have been driven at one time or another to the Burning Man Festival. ~Kenneth King Bear

The Top Five Ghost Towns in Nevada!

From the south to the north, the Silver State is an area with rich history, particularly rich mining history. From Rhyolite on the western border, to Berlin in the Toquima mountains, many of these towns boomed - and then disappeared within a ten year span. While what remains in all of these towns varies, the towns herein - Rhyholite, Palmetto, Pioche, Belmont and Berlin - are the best ghost towns to explore in the state for seasoned explorers and novice travelers alike.

Dude, Where’s The Car? It’s Abandoned in the Nevada Desert ????

Just a stop at what appears to be a junk yard that somehow became abandoned. It was pretty evident no one was living here and there was no signage saying no trespassing. it’s as if everyone just picked up and left one day. Was it a junk yard? Was it a mining town at one time? Let’s go check it out together.

It always makes me wonder how these places end up the way we find them and what was the story. I guess we will never know.

Join me, along with Darker Image TV as we check out abandonment and some vintage junkers in the Nevada Desert. As always.. Happy Exploring ????

A SECRET Research Facility - NOT Abandoned!! (Nevada)

In the mountains east of Reno, we found a complex of buildings that appeared to be abandoned. Our expedition out there revealed a site more mysterious than we could have imagined!

Finding Stone Monsters and Crashed UFOs in the Desert

Stone monsters. Crashed UFOs. All of these can be found at the unique Boulder Park and Desert Tower southwest of the sleepy town of Ocotillo, CA in the In-Ko-Pah Mountains off of Interstate 8. I spent an afternoon hiking, climbing, and crawling through the maze of boulders at this most unusual desert location. Enjoy!

Exploring the Ghost Town of Palmetto and the Abandoned Mill at Lida, NV

The old mill near Lida, NV stands in a desolate area of the Nevada desert not too far from the main highway. Not too far away is the ghost town of Palmetto which was established in the late 1800s. Not many people every lived at Palmetto, and the town was ultimately doomed to die in the early 1900s. Not much remains at the townsite except for the massive stone foundations of the mill and furnace and a couple buildings.

THE CADILLAC ABANDONED GHOST TOWN OF NEVADA

The Cadillac Ghost town.
These little abandoned farm houses in the huge Sarcobatus Flat area of Nevada held many surprises in the form of a large family of red tailed hawks. There's oversized nests inside these houses. Getting these shots while pissed off hawks are circling overhead was a blast. You can hear them in the video portions of this Ghost town shoot. This place is extremely isolated. One gets the feeling that a whole family lived here and the last surviving member parked the Caddy and went inside one of the houses and.........

Step Inside Nevada's Thriving Ghost Town

Virginia City, Nevada, is a rare example of a ghost town that's still very much alive. The mining town boomed in 1859, but while its counterparts withered away, Virginia City continues today to host a thriving community, many of whom live and work in the town's historic buildings.
