A Visit to Slide Rock Park Near Sedona, Arizona

Watch HD clips from Slide Rock Park, named after the famous Slide Rock, a stretch of slippery creek bottom including a natural water chute. Filmed on a balmy Arizona day in April 2013, this video shows the chute as well as deeper pool areas where swimmers can jump off short cliffs into the water. The water temperature the day this was filmed was a chilly 52F, but that didn't stop most vacationers have jumping in and having fun.

My boyfriend and I spent the day at Slide Rock State Park in Sedona, AZ. The park was open but limiting the number of guests allowed in due to the pandemic. It was perfect because the park wasn't crowded at all like it usually is.

SLIDE ROCK STATE PARK SEDONA, ARIZONA

Slide Rock State Park is about 6 miles outside of Sedona, Arizona. The park has short scenic hiking trails, but its main use is on the warm weather days. This was filmed in December, and it was nice seeing the park empty in all its beauty. In warmer times of the year, this place is extremely crowded because of the natural waterslide that is Oak Creek. I give a tour of the park from the top of the Canyon down into the canyon going along Oak Creek. This beautiful state park is not to be missed anytime of the year if you are visiting the Sedona area.

Visiting Beautiful SLIDE ROCK STATE PARK Under a Blanket of SNOW | Sedona, Arizona

Family fun in the summer at Slide Rock Rock State Park is fantastic but can you go in the winter? Of course! Today we visit the park to check out the stunning red rock scenery blanketed in snow to see what fun is to be found at Oak Creek.

Slide Rock State Park's flowing waters in Oak Creek Canyon are the main attraction. A small section of Oak Creek features naturally carved slides that welcome families and guests seeking out a cool reprieve from the summer heat.

The property was once owned by the Pendley family - homesteaders who acquired the land under the Homestead Act in 1910. The family planted apple orchards, grew vegetables, and raised livestock. Many of the historic buildings remain there today including the family home, cabins from the 1930s, and the apple packing shed. Guests are welcome to pick the fruit when ripe.

SEDONA, ARIZONA: Incredible Hikes, Great Food, & Slide Rock Waterslide

Sedona Arizona is incredible. The Native American tribes who lived in this area considered Sedona a sacred place, and to this day, there is a mystical aspect to Sedona that attracts people from all over the world. Slide Rock state park is a ton of fun and worth checking out in the hot summer months. Also be sure to hike to some of the vortexes (vortices), which some people believe have healing power.

Sedona, Arizona: Slide Rock State Park | TRAVEL VLOG

Hiking the Slide Rock trail was a beautiful way to spend a fall day. Is there anything more relaxing than the sound of water running over the rocks? Although the park is directly adjacent to State Route 89A, the sound of the falls mostly drown out the noise, allowing you to feel removed from the rest of the world. Be warned though, in the summer months, it's the most popular swimming hole around!
