Saona Island is the most famous island of the Dominican Republic. Palms, white sand, the Caribbean attract thousands of tourists. It is believed that it was here that Bounty ads were shot, as well as some episodes of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Saona is a beautiful island near Punta Cana. The excursions are going by catamaran the the island.
There you will have lunch. In the afternoon it goes by speedboat to an place in the ocean were you can swim and snorkel. Than it goes by speedboat back to the starting point. This excursion is all inclusive? At the beach in Punta Cana you can buy this excursion for +- 50 USD

Our day excursion to Saona Island, Dominican Republic.
We stayed at the Secrets Royal Beach, Punta Cana. The tour bus picked us up at 730am. After numerous stops to pick up other passengers, it took approximately 1hr 45 minutes to get to the boat.
Please note:
Wear a hat or sunscreen. If it's really sunny, the sun is brutal.
Once you get to the dock you will have the opportunity to use the restrooms before boarding the boat. There is no running water or paper at these restrooms. Good idea to take your own TP and hand sanitizer.
The boat ride to Saona Island is approximately 30-40 minutes.
The food on the island was delicious! Simple but tasty!
We had rice, beans, pasta, salads, grilled fish, grilled pork chops, and grilled chicken.
We spend approximately 2 hours on the island.
Would definitely do it again!
