The next leg of my Central Asia travel takes me to Uzbekistan, a land full of incredible Islamic architecture and one of the most significant countries of the Silk Road.
Having arrived via land border crossing from Kazakhstan, I had a short stay here in Tashkent, before continuing to the famous cities of Samarkand and Bukhara.

In this video, I will do a self-guided exploration of Tashkent. I spent the day admiring the beautifully unique architecture of the various metro stations throughout the city, as well as visiting some landmarks and getting a first glimpse into the Uzbek cuisine.

Samarkand to Tashkent by Train | EP-09 |When My Return Flight to Home Got Cancelled

Samarkand to Tashkent by Train | EP-09 |When My Return Flight to Home Got Cancelled

Summary of this Vlog

This Vlog is episode-09 of my Backpacking Uzbekistan series. I started my journey from Imona Hostel Samarkand. Got a taxi to Samarkand Train Station. From where I Purchased my train ticket to Tashkent. Samarkand Train station also has a luggage storage facility. It took around 3.5 hours to reach Tashkent from Samarkand. Then I went straight to Afghan Embassy to get a transit visa to tackle an emergency. Finally reached Rakat Hostel for the next two-night stay there.

Samarkand to Bukhara by train

After spending my time in Samarkand I went back to Tashkent By train. Although, the best and most convenient way is to avail the option of a fast train. However, as per my time, I got the option of a normal train. It was called Sharq Train. The train takes 3.5 hours to reach from Samarkand to Tashkent. In Uzbekistan, I used all the means of transportation within the country. So, as per my plan, I went to Samarkand from Bukhara by public bus. I used this option because I want to make a trip by bus too. The bus takes 4 hours to reach Samarkand. The fare of the Bus was 50000Som. After visiting Samarkand I went back to Tashkent and traveled on the slow train Sharq reached Tashkent in 3.5 hours.

How many Types of Uzbek Trains?

There are 2 types of trains (The Afrosiyob train and the Sharq Train ) that run from Tashkent to Samarkand.
After reaching Tashkent, I utilized my last two days in the capital. Hence, Tashkent was my last stop in Uzbekistan before my flight from Tashkent to Dushanbe.

How My Return Flight to Home Got Cancelled

I have to cut short my Samarkand visit just because my return flight home got canceled. So, instead of leaving everything apart. I completed my original plan before coming back home.
