The Republic of Cabo Verde, is an archipelago and island country of West Africa in the central Atlantic Ocean, consisting of ten volcanic islands. These islands lie between 600 and 850 kilometres west of Cap-Vert, the westernmost point of continental Africa. The Cape Verde islands form part of the Macaronesia ecoregion, along with the Azores, the Canary Islands, Madeira, and the Savage Isles.
The Cape Verde archipelago was uninhabited until the 15th century, when Portuguese explorers discovered and colonized the islands, thus establishing the first European settlement in the tropics. Because the Cape Verde islands were conveniently located to play a role in the Atlantic slave trade, Cape Verde became economically prosperous during the 16th and 17th centuries, attracting merchants, privateers, and pirates. Cape Verde became independent in 1975.

This is a cinematic video report of our 9 day trip to Cabo Verde in february 2022. I could fly my drone everywhere I wanted, or at least where the wind permitted it. I'm glad I brought my Air 2S, because my mini 2 would certainly have struggeled to fight the wind.
Cabo Verde is a small African country, but it's ten islands are so diverse. People here are really helpful and friendly, the food is fantastic and there are plenty of things to discover. It's impossible to select just a few of the best locations to visit in Cabo Verde, because there's so much to choose from.

The island provides perfect beaches , cristal blue water and a real salted lake. We did a lot of swimming, snorkeling and a sailtrip with a catamaran. We also saw some sharks upclose. Finally, we were able to take a plane to a astonishing part of the globe. A small island in the middle of the Atlantic that warmedour our hearts with their beautiful beaches, an incredible weather, clear waters, but above all, its humblepeople. This trip will always be memorable and I really hope that all those people we met and that we now call friends cross our path once again, because we already miss them. Thank you Sal.

Santa Maria is a Town in Cape Verde on the southern tip of Sal Island.
Santa Maria (Portuguese for Saint Mary) is a city in the southern part of the island municipality of Sal, Cape Verde. It is located on the south coast, about 16 km south of the Amílcar Cabral International Airport, and 20 km south of the island capital Espargos.
Santa Maria was founded in 1830 for the production of salt. Up to 30,000 tons of salt were shipped from Santa Maria each year. A pier was built in the area of Ponta de Vera Cruz and a small rail track was built to carry the salt to the pier. Most of the product was exported to Brazil, which was halted in 1887 when Brazil imposed a high tax on imported salt to protect its own salt production. The town went into a deep decline, only to recover in 1920 when a Portuguese investor resumed salt production. This continued until 1984. In 1935, Santa Maria was elevated from a village to a town.
In 1967, Belgian industrialists and engineers Georges Vynckier and Marguerite Massart opened Cape Verde's first resort hotel named Morabeza. After 1986, tourism became an important industry on the island, and many resorts and hotels were built in the southern and southwestern coastal areas near Santa Maria. In 2017, 48.2% of the country's available beds were on the island of Sal.

Cape Verde is an exotic island world, an archipelago off the coast of West Africa it combines the flair of the Canaries with the charm of Africa. Explorers Christopher Columbus and Vasco Ad Gama lay anchor there in order to replenish supplies and repair their ships. It was not until 1445 that the fifteen islands were discovered and consequently became a Portuguese colony. We begin in the north east of the islands, in Sal. Crystal blue sea and endless sandy beaches, islands of both wind and sunshine with a volcanic lunar landscape twenty five kilometres long and twelve kilometres wide. Sal owes its name and colonization to its once most important export of salt which was to be found in huge quantities. Baia Da Fontana, close to Palmeira, appears like a shady oasis with various green trees that provide welcome shelter from the heat and in the background the dominant Monte Leste volcano where the slopes reach down to the shore and the splendid rock pools of Buracona. Mindelo, situated on the island São Vicente, is considered to be the cultural centre of the archipelago in which typical Creole art has been preserved. Sparse, raw and untamed it is dominated by powerful, almost mystical mountains. Santo Antão is an island of mountains, wind and water and the second largest island of Cape Verde. Its most important route is a road over the high mountains. The views of the Paúl Valley take the breath away. A fairytale world of stone which looks truly surreal. Against the background of the scenery, clouds entangle themselves within the mountains and provide life-giving moisture. Each island is unique and possesses its own special charm. It's been nine months since we came to Cape Verde.
If the honeymoon around the world was going without any problems, we would have been drinking chai tea in India now
We’re having a completely different days now than originally planned, but thanks to the beautiful nature and wonderful people, I really enjoy every day.
I am grateful to this city and the people who live in this town, so I want give back something for them
This video is a tourism promotion video for Santamaria that I seriously made, taking 9 months to shoot and more than 2 weeks to edit.
It is a video that can only be made by me who actually stayed in this city for 9 months and built relationships with the local people.
In this regard, I think even famous Hollywood directors or well-known video creators can not make it.
I hope you all enjoy this video.
And I would be very happy if as many foreigners as possible were interested in this town and came to travel

新婚旅行世界一周が順調に進んでいれば、今頃インドでチャイティーでも飲んでいたでしょう。
当初の予定とは全く違う日々を過ごしていますが、美しい自然と素晴らしい人たちのおかげで、毎日楽しんでいます。
特に島の人には心からに感謝していて、地球の裏側からやって来た私たちを特大ホスピタリティで受け入れてくれ、何不自由することなく過ごせています。
そんなこの街は産業のほとんどが観光業に依存しています。ホテルやツアー業はもちろん、タクシーや飲食店のお客はほぼ全て観光客、マグロの価格が暴落していることからも分かるように、漁師でさえ観光客ありきの商売であることが現実なのです。
そんな深刻な状況の街の助けに少しでもなればという思いで動画を作成しました。
実際にこの街に9ヶ月滞在し、地元の人々との関係を築いてきた私だからこそ制作できる動画になっており、この点においては、どこぞのハリウッド監督も登録者100万人の凄腕映像クリエーターでも、簡単には真似できないことだと思います。
この動画を通じて、一人でも多くの方がこの街に興味を持ってくれ、足を運んでくれたら嬉しいです。

The island Sal in Cape Verde is a beautiful place to travel to. There are amazing hotels and there is enough to do and see!
We stayed at Riu Palace Cabo Verde, and would definitely recommend this hotel. We did a half day 4X4 Sal secrets tour booked via TUI, and a 2 hour buggy tour with No Limits Adventures Sal. Also, swimming with the lemon sharks was booked via TUI.
