Saint Barts : Gustavia and shell beach with Oceania Riveira
A day on the French island Saint Barthélemy, also called St. Barts or St. Barths.
We spent the day in Gustavia on two activities within walkable distance of where the tender boats dock. We were lucky that the annual Bucket Regatta took place. We spent some time admiring the beautiful and expensive yachts. After spending some time in Gustavia Harbor, we hit the beach. There’s one beach in town, Shell Beach, within 15 minutes walking from downtown. We spent a few hours snorkeling in the pristine water and enjoying the crystal clear warm water under the Caribbean sun. Shell Beach - unsurprisingly - is made up of millions of tiny shells.

Appreciating The Beaches in St Barts
The beaches in St Barts are some of the most pristine and beautiful beaches in the world. Kindly allow me to take you to some of my fav spots, but first you must endure seeing me bathing in the comfortable sea water for the first few minutes. Consider yourself warned.

St. Barth Feels Good
The residents of St. Barth fought the virus and eliminated it from the island for more than 1 month. As a result, many organizations and businesses were allowed to open on May 11th. This video celebrates this opening week. I Feel Good is sung by Don Soley and the camera and production are by Edmund Gudenas. Editing by Christopher Pridnia. All in the video are volunteers. St. Barth remains a very special place because of the residents and local government that responds to challenges.

On this trip we hiked to the famous washing machine, drove to nearly every beach, Anse de St. Jean, Anse de Lorient, Anse Grand Cul-de-Sac, Anse de Grande Saline, Anse du Gouverneur, Petis Anse de Galet (Shell Beach), Anse de Columbier, Anse de Flamands, Anse des Cayes and enjoyed shopping at the designer boutiques.

Its always a treat to find a deserted island right here in the Caribbean, to get away from the crowds and seek some solitude! As the charter boats were turning up the dance music, we were raising anchor to continue our journey West. But we want to make one last stop, Ile Fourchue, before getting to St. Martin. Even though there was a lot of roll, it was a quick easy sail from Colombier. We were anchored by lunch time and took the opportunity to whip up a fresh salad thanks to the well stocked grocery store in Gustavia. With full bellies we took to the water. Ile Fourchue is a protected reserve so we were hoping to see more life than what we’ve typically seen in the Caribbean. We weren’t disappointed.
