We visited the display a couple years ago, and it was good for about an hour's walk through then, but this year, with a combination of a half dozen new light sculptures, excellent organization and presentation, we probably doubled... River of Light Trail 2021, is an outdoor illuminated art gallery located along Liverpool’s world-famous waterfront.
For 14 nights (Tuesday 23 March to Monday 5 April) Liverpudlians experienced the River of Light Trail, which showcased the work of leading local, national and international artists. They created 11 stunning audio and visual installations, with an underlying message. The trail stretched along 2 km of the city centre, attracting hundreds of visitors.
It was the best way to get back outdoors, thanks to the relaxed lockdown restrictions. Families made the best of the opportunity to enjoy some spectacular light installations. Watch the video to know more.

設計#香港地 委約來自美國知名設計工作室 Poetic Kinetics 之藝術家 Patrick Shearn 以其最具代表性的「Skynet」系列創作，以香港地標維港為創作靈感，製作動態懸空雕塑《川流不熄》作為壓軸作品。
《川流不熄》面積約700平方米，此道巨型雕塑由超過45,000條色帶組成，倚傍維港及港島北的繁榮景致晝夜隨風飄揚，並與「維港蛻變」於銅鑼灣避風塘海濱的火龍頭作品《首》作首尾呼應。《川流不熄》中間一條反光帶猶如貫穿古今的時光之河，展現無盡生機及向那流光溢彩的未來延展無盡可能。置身作品之下，遊人可沐浴在它的悠揚動感之中，感受香港繁榮鬧市的川流不「熄」，卻又感覺恬靜如一。

#ddHK is pleased to commission world-renowned artist Patrick Shearn from US creative studio Poetic Kinetics to create the floating kinetic sculpture River of Light with Victoria Harbour as his inspiration. The work marks the debut of the acclaimed Skynet Art Series in Hong Kong and the final act of transFORM.
Covering approximately 700 square metres and composed of over 45,000 coloured streamers, this extensive sculpture flutters above Victoria Harbour and Wan Chai North day and night, resonating with The Lead at the beginning of transFORM. With a light-reflecting band running through it, this symbolic river scintillates timelessly, connecting the past, present and future of our city with the life, growth and possibility of water. Viewing it from below, visitors will immerse in the work's dynamic yet tranquil presence and revel in Hong Kong's hustle and bustle in another “light”.
