Touring North Korea's capital and bowing to the 'Great' Leaders! | North Korea day 3 ????????

A very interesting day visiting the Bronze statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, touring the Victorious war museum which holds the only captured US ship in the world that's still on the commissioned roster! Stopping by the Monument to the party founding, visiting Kim Il Sung square. Checking out some ridiculous propaganda in a bookshop, ascending the Juche stone tower with a 360 degree view of Pyongyang, shopping in a local mall, visiting the birthplace of Kim Il Sung, attending a school children's show and taking a stroll along Science street! We did a lot!

North Korea's Empty Spaceship-like Ryugyong Hotel

The Ryugyong Hotel, is an unfinished 105-story, 330-meter-tall (1,080 ft) pyramid-shaped skyscraper in Pyongyang, North Korea. Its name (capital of willows) is also one of the historical names for Pyongyang. The building is also known as the 105 Building, a reference to its number of floors. The building has been planned as a mixed-use development, which would include a hotel. The building is currently listed by Guinness World Records as being the tallest unoccupied building in the world.
Construction began in 1987 but was halted in 1992 as North Korea entered a period of economic crisis after the fall of the Soviet Union. After 1992 the building stood topped out, but without any windows or interior fittings. In 2008 construction resumed, and the exterior was completed in 2011. It was planned to open the hotel in 2012, the centenary of Kim Il-sung's birth. A partial opening was announced for 2013, but this was canceled. In 2018, a LED display was fitted to one side, which was used to show animation and movie scenes. The building remains unopened.

A Tour of North Korean Architecture in Pyongyang

The architecture of Pyongyang is one of the DPRK's highlights.

In any socialist regime, architecture plays a key part in the process of building up a new social and political environment following revolutionary events. The total destruction of Pyongyang during the Korean War gave Korean architects and construction workers a clean slate from which to build a perfect socialist capital anew, and they seized upon that opportunity with relish.

Havana vs Pyongyang | Cuba vs North Korea (Two Anti-US Communist Countries)

HAVANA
City Area : 728 sq km
Population : 2,140,423 (2020)
P. Density : 2,892 / sq km
Havana is the capital city, largest city, province, major port, and leading commercial center of Cuba. Contemporary Havana can essentially be described as three cities in one: Old Havana, Vedado and the newer suburban districts. The city attracts over a million tourists annually; the Official Census for Havana reports that in 2010 the city was visited by 1,176,627 international tourists, a 20% increase from 2005. Old Havana was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. The city is also noted for its history, culture, architecture and monuments. As typical of Cuba, Havana experiences a tropical climate.

PYONGYANG
City Area : 2,000 sq km
Population : 3,084,244 (2020)
P. Density : 1,542 / sq km
Pyongyang is the capital and largest city of North Korea. Pyongyang is located on the Taedong River about 109 kilometers upstream from its mouth on the Yellow Sea. Pyongyang is considered one of the oldest cities in Korea. It was the capital of two ancient Korean kingdoms, including Gojoseon and Goguryeo, and served as the secondary capital of Goryeo. Much of the city was destroyed during the First Sino-Japanese War, but it was revived under Japanese rule and became an industrial center. Following the establishment of North Korea in 1948, Pyongyang became its de facto capital. The city was again devastated during the Korean War, but was quickly rebuilt after the war with Soviet assistance.
