Announcement from airplane pilot after LOUD bang and bright flash
This was the very good news from our pilot after a VERY loud bang and a bright flash of light occurred shortly after take off from the airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
I thought we had surely suffered some major mechanical failure and would have to turn around for an immediate emergency landing. Immediately after the flash and bang, I pointed my video camera out the window to capture whatever happened next.
There was about 60 seconds for us all to worry about the worst case scenario before our pilot came on the public address system and made this announcement about what had happened.

TUI Boeing 757 Comes into Land SIDEWAYS in 40 KNOT CROSSWIND at Bristol Airport During a STORM
Strong winds blowing directly across the runway at Bristol Airport on the 12th October 2018 due to Storm Callum caused this TUI Airways Boeing 757-200 aircraft to come in nearly sideways. Aircraft need to compensate for the crosswind otherwise they will be blown off course, they do this by pointing their nose into the direction the wind is coming from, demonstrated perfectly by this crew. It is always fascinating to watch planes landing in strong crosswinds; the power of mother nature vs the skill and professionalism of the brilliant airline pilots.

JustPlanes is in the Cockpit of the CORSAIR Boeing 747-400 (F-HSEA) operating flight CRL953 departing Mauritius for the 11 hour nonstop flight to Paris.
