Exploring Quepos, Costa Rica
We jokingly call it the Quepos Triathalon: rowing or paddling to shore, hiking a trail up to the road, then walking up a long, steep road to Manuel Antonio. It gets the heart pumping!
Wiping off our sweat, we then catch a bus that goes back down the ridge into the coastal town of Quepos. There, we found excellent shopping and a central farmer's market.

Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. If you plan on traveling to this beautiful destination then I highly recommend visiting Manuel Antonio, Quepos. Manuel Antonio Beach is one of the best beaches in Costa Rica but that is not all that Quepos has to offer. Manuel Antonio National Park is located on the Central Pacific Coast and is known for its vast diversity in wildlife and tropical plants. Quepos Complete Guided Waking Tour | Welcome to Paradise In Costa Rica
All You Need to Know about Quepos near Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica. Guided Walking Tour + Marina Pez Vela. Welcome to Paradise in Central America.
Today I take you around Quepos in Puntarenas province near Manuel Antonio National Park on a walking tour guide. We visit downtown Quepos and the best attractions in the area. Starting from the Pacific Ocean walk from the beautiful Quepos sign (perfect place to take souvenir pictures). We then get to Marina Pez Vela, one of the best harbors in Central America. Is it worth mooring there? We shall find out. I show you the best and cheapest restaurant for cocktails. We spot many animals along the way such as iguanas.
Later we get to Parque Nahomi in Quepos, the perfect place for swimming and snorkelling, even for kids. The water here is crystal clear with buoys strung together by rope, to create safe swimming area. We also discuss the issue of no pavements / sidewalks in Costa Rica, making certain destinations unsafe to do on foot.
At the end of the day, I show you the very town centre of Quepos, the place of many shops, restaurants, churches, bars and clubs. Afterwards heading back to my favorite apartment / accommodation in Quepos called Pura Vida Guesthouse, taking a rural, country road.

We traveled to Costa Rica for our 15 year anniversary just one week before the world drastically changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in early March 2020. Before things got crazy we enjoyed our trip exploring the Pacific coast around the towns of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. We explored the tide pools at Playa Espadilla and explored the streets, shops, and restaurants of Quepos.
