First Day in French Polynesia Arrival in Tahiti Papeete

my arrival day in Papeete the capital of Tahiti

In the gardens I’ve meet some local people and they told me that if I continue the road heading east I will reach town Teahuapoo from there by boat I can get to place name Paradise in French de Pari.

Teahuapoo is famous of big waves, you might hear about it becasue i has got many surfing competitions. in 2024 French will host Olympics games and surfing competition will be here. Im asking a local guy to rent a boat but my French is very low so its hard for me to find info.

I was waiting 1 hour for the man on the bike but he never came back. hopefully one day I will come back here to this place. if you know anybody who has got a boat here place contact in the description below. Time to move on.

Right next stop, just before a tunnel the name is
O manutahi I te maru anahoho

Very nice spot to take pictures. Intersecting place to see the rock which is spitting water.

It was just a quick stop, I do have to tell you that if you are fan of surfing Tahiti is going to be a perfect for you because here the conditions are almost perfect for beginners. I think im going to try myself.

Tahiti its quite big island and if you properly want to explore it you will need 3-4 days. for me is not worth to go to all the places becasue in my schedule I do have other islands to visit. Tahiti is more like an airport hub for French Polynesia.

Tahiti
Queen of the Pacific

The heart and soul of the South Pacific, Tahiti is the largest in a chain of islands that make up French Polynesia. The name can either refer to the main island or the entire destination. Commonly referred to as The Islands of Tahiti, French Polynesia is a collection of 118 islands and atolls scattered across an impressive nautical surface area the size of Western Europe. Still, these tiny islands—many of which remain uninhabited—make up a total landmass of only 1,600 square miles

Tahiti

We are so happy to invite you for a walk through Papeete, on Tahiti. Papeete is the capital of French Polynesia, a group of islands in the South Pacific. What to see in Tahiti, French Polynesia in 5 days? / Trip from Papeete to Teahupoo

Polynesia has been a place on our bucket list for a long time. We visited 3 islands, in a simple and more budget friendly way. We would like to show you the best things to see based on our experience.

Our first destination was Tahiti, where people often stay only for a transit, but we feel it’s a mistake. The island has a lot to offer, and we didn’t even manage to discover half of it. Amazing hikes, surfing in the Pacific Ocean, remote jungles and the only city, Papeete, on the Polynesian islands. We show the best things to see and do on Tahiti, French Polynesia. Our favourite was the Teahupoo waves, that will host the Olympics in 2024 for surfing! Hopefully with the biggest Teahupoo waves to surf ever!

We would like to share the best things to do in Tahiti with a roadtrip vibe including:
- Visiting Papeete Market
- Papeete Church Mass
- Roadtrip to Teahupoo
- Excursion in Teahupoo
- Kayaking
- Taking a taxi boat to the Teahupoo waves to watch surfers
- Snorkeling in Tahiti

Any more details required feel free to comment and ask! Happy to help!

TAHITI (source Wikipedia):

Tahiti (previously also known as Otaheite) is the largest island in the Windward group of French Polynesia. The island is located in the archipelago of the Society Islands in the central Southern Pacific Ocean, and is divided into two parts: the bigger, northwestern part, Tahiti Nui, and the smaller, southeastern part, Tahiti Iti. The island was formed from volcanic activity and is high and mountainous with surrounding coral reefs. The population is 189,517 inhabitants (2017 census), making it the most populous island of French Polynesia and accounting for 68.7% of its total population.

Tahiti is the economic, cultural and political centre of French Polynesia, an overseas collectivity (sometimes referred to as an overseas country) of France. The capital of French Polynesia, Papeete, is located on the northwest coast of Tahiti. The only international airport in the region, Fa'a'ā International Airport, is on Tahiti near Papeete.

Tahiti was originally settled by Polynesians between 300 and 800 CE. They represent about 70% of the island's population, with the rest made up of Europeans, Chinese and those of mixed heritage.

The island was part of the Kingdom of Tahiti until its annexation by France in 1880, when it was proclaimed a colony of France, and the inhabitants became French citizens. French is the only official language, although the Tahitian language (Reo Tahiti) is widely spoken.
