Continuing the vlog series of my summer trip across Europe. This stop has me stopping in Paris for a few days before going elsewhere in France to see friends. Crazy to think this was in the middle of the pandemic and how open and easy it was to travel. I spent 3 days here seeing the sights, taking in the ambiance and enjoying life.

Du Louvre Paris REOPEN 6th of July 2020

Du Louvre Paris, Reopened the 6th of July 2020. I was there that day, and was lucky to get a time to get in, pre booked on the internet. I love the Louvre, with all the art, but also so much more. Breath-taking size, the largest museum in the world.... that is really something. Asked in the film, what great film was filmed in the Louvre..... the right answer is of course da vinci code from 2006. Saw it when it was at the movies and have seen it many times after. Makes you wonder.... doesn’t it? What IF it is true.... that would be a real turn for religion.
Du Louvre, the Louvre in English, was first constructed in the middle ages... 1100 ds... that is unique too. If you are in Paris, this is a place you need to be, and take on you the most comfortable shoes you have.. because you can walk for hours and hours and still not see everything. it is that vast.....
Great price too. 17 Euro for me, under 25 is free.

Hope you like my video.
And hope the very short clip of the movie “Da Vinci code” is under “fair use”.

Montmartre - Less Tourist in Paris - Summer 2020 - Walking in Paris 4k

Less Tourist in Paris - Summer 2020 - Walking in Paris 4k

Montmartre is a large hill in Paris's 18th arrondissement. It is 130 m (430 ft) high and gives its name to the surrounding district, part of the Right Bank in the northern section of the city. The historic district established by the City of Paris in 1995 is bordered by rue Caulaincourt and rue Custine on the north, rue de Clignancourt on the east, and boulevard de Clichy and boulevard de Rochechouart to the south,[4] containing 60 ha (150 acres).[5] Montmartre is primarily known for its artistic history, the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur on its summit, and as a nightclub district. The other church on the hill, Saint Pierre de Montmartre, built in 1147, was the church of the prestigious Montmartre Abbey. On August 15, 1534, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Saint Francis Xavier and five other companions bound themselves by vows in the Martyrium of Saint Denis, 11 rue Yvonne Le Tac, the first step in the creation of the Jesuits.[6]

Near the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the twentieth, during the Belle Époque, many artists lived in, had studios, or worked in or around Montmartre, including Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Suzanne Valadon, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissarro, and Vincent van Gogh. Montmartre is also the setting for several hit films.

This site is served by metro, with line 2 stations at Anvers, Pigalle, and Blanche, and line 12 stations at Pigalle, Abbesses, Lamarck – Caulaincourt, and Jules Joffrin.
