Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)

One-Bedroom Overwater Bungalow Suites at Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora
The new and enhanced One-Bedroom Overwater Bungalow Suites at Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora have never been better. These free-standing accommodations are 1,080 square feet (100 square meters) each and sit over the famous turquoise lagoon of Bora Bora. Each of these pandanus-thatched suites is designed in modern Polynesian style, with traditional teak-wood furnishings, Polynesian artwork and idyllic views of Mount Otemanu. Inside, hardwood floors and walls are stained in a light palette that suggests driftwood or coral, while small lagoon windows fill the space with magical, turquoise-tinted sunlight as it reflects off the water. Each bungalow contains two flat-screen televisions and video-on-demand, while rooms are appointed with framed indigenous artifacts, from fishing lures fashioned from mother-of-pearl to fans made of coconut palms. All signature Four Seasons beds feature panoramic views of the lagoon, as do large soaking tubs, allowing guests to relax suspended above the lagoon, immersed in Bora Bora’s pristine water, radiance and ocean air. Large sundecks provide chaise lounges, a covered dining area, a ladder to the water below and a rinsing shower. Panpuri bath amenities are offered in eco-friendly refillable containers. Some of these accommodations also feature their own plunge pool.

We finally checked off our dream of staying at an overwater bungalow! If you're interested in what an overwater bungalow looks like, this video is for you!
The Intercontinenal Le Moana Bora Bora is one of the more affordable overwater bungalows in Bora Bora, as its on the main island, not on the motus. With a beautiful beach, great coral and snorkeling, sting-rays, and beauiful backdrop, our stay at this overwater bungalow was a dream!

Conrad Bora Bora Multi-Level Presidential Overwater Villa Infinity Pool Room Tour - French Polynesia
The Conrad Bora Bora Nui Presidential Overwater Villa with Infinity Pool Suites are a group of 2 top of the line overwater villas in the South Pacific French Polynesia paradise that is Bora Bora. These are the only two overwater villas in all of Bora that are multi-level and they are each over 3,200 square feet in size. They feature a main and guest rooms on the main floor, each with their own private luxury bathrooms, as well as a large sofa and private bathroom on the second floor. Outside there are large first and second floor decks, with an infinity pool, hot tub / whirlpool, plenty of sunbeds, a dining table and outdoor bar. The Presidential Overwater Villa has direct access to the crystal clear lagoon ocean waters below via a ladder with an outdoor shower. The suite includes a mini bar, tea and coffee, multiple flat screen HDTVs, Bluetooth sound system, and wireless internet. This room is the ultimate vacation destination to relax and unwind with that special someone, or a small intimate group of friends, whether you stay for just a night or longer.
The Presidential Overwater Villa with Infinity Pool Suite also includes access to the full Conrad Bora Bora Nui property on Motu To'opua, with its beautiful soft white sand beaches, two level pool, and scenic overlook with views of Mount Otemanu. There are multiple restaurants and bars, as well as delicious in room dining (since it is a Hilton property, Hilton Honors members may get breakfast included). On top of all that there is also a SPA, fitness facilities, and plenty of activities to do, such as tennis, stand-up paddle boarding, and snorkeling.

St. Regis Bora Bora Overwater Superior Villa Room Tour Insta360
We stayed in an overwater superior villa at the St. Regis in Bora Bora. We were in room 320, and it was spectacular! The location was great because we were close to the main pathway and it was easy to access everything without walking or biking too far. Our OWB (over water bungalow) faced the lagoon. Many told us that the villas facing the lagoon had less wind but during the time of our stay, wind was coming from the east so it did get windy some days. The sunrises facing the lagoon did have amazing sunrises and we enjoyed it very much!
When choosing a room, decide what is most important to you. If the mountain view is an absolute must, then choose the mountain view villas. Just a note, depending what time of year you go it could be cloudy and you may not get the majestic mountain view you paid extra for.
If you want a pool on your deck, choose a villa with a pool. In my opinion, if you don't plan on swimming in the lagoon and only want to sit in a pool then this option may be for you.
