OVERNIGHT LUXURY CRUISE in HA LONG BAY, VIETNAM - (what to expect with a 3 day 2 night cruise)
Welcome to our fifth video in our Vietnam series and part 2 of our Ha Long Bay Cruise!
In this video, we are cruising through Ha Long Bay on a 3-day, 2-night excursion. We will show you what our adventurous day two itinerary looked like aboard the Mon Cheri.
Ha Long Bay is located in northeast Vietnam and is one of the most popular travel destinations in the country. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is known for its stunning emerald waters and beautiful limestone cliffs. Tourists and locals alike come here to experience the secluded beaches, mysterious caves, and charming floating fishing villages.
Our first stop was to Cat Ba island. Cat Ba is the largest island in Ha Long Bay. It has such incredible biodiversity that a portion of the island has been designated as a National Park. Cat Ba has become increasingly popular for its beaches, trekking, biking, and visiting Viet Hai village. We had a blast biking to the quaint mountainside village.
While there are a few different ways to get to the lovely Viet Hai village, we highly recommend biking. The paved path winds through the jungle and offers beautiful views of the mountains, water, caves, and local life. We were able to see an area preserved for tourists to experience what village life was like 40 years ago. We learned about fishing, farming, and how villagers were able to obtain the necessities like food and water. While the village is becoming more modern, the people still live in great harmony with nature, making this a very peaceful stop on our day.
After lunch, we explored a fishing village, enjoyed some tea, and kayaked around the bay!
We ended our day with a delicious six-course meal while watching the sunset from the viewing deck!

Overnight Cruise in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
Today we sleepover at one of Vietnam's hottest destinations: Ha Long Bay. We take the overnight cruise and sail through its limestone islands. During the day our activities include kayaking, visiting the Thien Cung Cave, rowing by floating houses, and Vietnamese cooking lessons. In the evening we wine and dine, then go squid-fishing. No catch, but it's a way to mingle with other passengers! Watch the video to see the action unfold :)

Halong Bay Cruise: Don't Book WRONG Overnight Tour (Choose Luxury!)
Hello Adventurers,
There are tons of options out there. Some are simply day tours of the bay, and some are overnight. Our Halong Bay Cruise from Hanoi was pretty darn exciting.
After having done it our self, we can promise that the best way to do a Halong Bay tour is the overnight experience, whether it's a signature cruise or a budget cruise or a luxury boat, just make sure you spend at least one night on the bay!
Why, you ask, should you spend a night on the bay? Because you get to see the awesome sunset and then the sunrise the next day. You'll probably get to go sea kayaking in the bay without tons of other tourists around.
Your company will probably take you to an island to enjoy a beach and maybe even explore a cave. There's so much to do and see on the bay that a day trip just won't do it justice.
Now, for the sticky part - if you book a larger cruise boat, you're going to have a much different experience than a small boat. The small boats are intimate, calm and peaceful. The large boats are essentially parties, with people really not caring too much about the bay and focusing on I'm on a boat type of stuff.
But it's your choice, and maybe you want that?
Regardless, we definitely recommend this experience - it was one of our favorite landscapes to ever behold.

We booked this beautiful cruise at our hotel in Hanoi. There are many booking agencies in Hanoi, but we got the best deal right inside our hotel. We could even leave our luggage at the hotel while we enjoyed the Halong Bay.
We got picked up from the hotel in a VIP bus that had very comfortable seats and made the long bus ride very easy. This cruise was including of food and many fun activities, like: kayaking, boat ride through the Dark/Light cave, making spring rolls, karaoke and early morning tai chi!
We would recommend this cruise as it was a smaller ship that feels more cosy, has great rooms, a very professional staff and everything was well organised from beginning until the end!

The first couple of days we wanted to start the trip off nice and relaxing by doing a luxury cruise along the UNESCO world heritage site - Halong Bay.

Hey guys, so for the next part of my Hanoi saga - I went on a cruise in Ha Long Bay for 2D1N. It was such a cool and fun experience, nothing beats waking up to these sights.
So yes, it is worth it to go on a cruise. Overnight should be enough for your trip if your stay in Hanoi isn't too long. There are many types of cruises, some more fitting for couples, for families, even chartered...but for me I went with this party cruise. Everyone was awesome, from the staff to the owner, and especially the strangers I met who eventually became my friends.

HALONG BAY CRUISE VIETNAM
2 Days and 1 Night Itinerary :
Day 1: Morning pick-up: Your cruise adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Hanoi (or designated meeting point) in the morning. You'll then embark on a comfortable journey to Halong Bay, which takes around 3-4 hours, passing through picturesque landscapes of rural Vietnam.
Arriving at Halong Bay: Upon reaching the Halong Bay port, you'll be welcomed by the cruise staff and guided to the cruise ship.
Check-in and lunch: After a warm welcome, you'll check-in to your cabin. Lunch will be served on board, featuring a variety of Vietnamese and international dishes, while the cruise starts to navigate the stunning limestone karsts and emerald waters of Halong Bay.
Explore Sung Sot Cave (Surprise Cave): In the afternoon, the cruise will take you to visit Sung Sot Cave, one of the most beautiful and impressive caves in the bay. You'll have a chance to explore its fascinating stalactites and stalagmites formations.
Enjoy activities on the cruise: Depending on the cruise operator, you might have options for activities like kayaking, swimming, or simply relaxing on the sundeck, taking in the breathtaking scenery.
Cooking class and sunset party: In the late afternoon, there might be a cooking class where you can learn to prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes. Later, you can enjoy a sunset party on the deck, with drinks and snacks.
Dinner: In the evening, you'll be treated to a delectable dinner, often featuring fresh seafood and other delicacies.
Evening activities: After dinner, you can engage in various evening activities, such as squid fishing, watching movies, or simply stargazing on the deck.
Day 2: Tai Chi session: Early risers can start their day with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck, enjoying the peacefulness of the bay as the sun rises.

As we're budget travellers, we decided to choose a more affordable overnight cruise option but there are also more expensive luxury cruises available in Halong Bay. During this Halong Bay cruise, we visit Ti Top island and Sung Sot cave (the biggest cave in Ha Long Bay), and join an early morning kayaking tour (we saw monkeys!). Ha Long Bay, Vietnam | Overnight Luxury Cruise Experience | Ambassador Cruise
Ha Long Bay is a must visit when you travel in Vietnam. It takes 2 hours from Hanoi to reach here by road. We went for an overnight cruise stay to explore Ha Long Bay and experienced it. Our cruise is called Ambassador Cruise, one of Vietnam's luxurious Cruise lines. Ambassador Cruise is the largest Halong Bay luxury cruise featuring 46 first-class cabins. In the cruise, there is a lounge, a bar, a jacuzzi, a spa and a restaurant. Along the way, we seen a lot of magnificent views and glimpses of the UNESCO heritage site. We were greeted by the amazing and friendly crew in the ship, they were fantastic throughout the whole journey. During our stay, the weather was really good, it was cooling and breezing! Ambassador Cruise organize outdoor excursions such as Kayaking, hiking up Titov Island, visiting Sung Sot Cave and the Tung Sau Pearl Farm. They even organize activities in the cruise as well like cooking class on how to make Vietnamese spring rolls and an early morning Tai Chi exercise. Food served were marvelous and the portions are colossal. Breakfast and lunch were served in buffet style and dinner was prepared by the head chef in this cruise without selecting from the menu. This overnight cruise experience was very memorable. Roaming around the cruise was relaxing and enjoyable. The excursions were worth it and we would want to visit Ha Long Bay in future again! We paid about US$375 per room for 2 people each. We think the price isn't bad because everything we did during the whole trip was splendid. Thank you to Mr Jason Le, the cruise manager on our trip for being such an outstanding manager.
