This is a short film about Onomichi, the Japanese city of nostalgia, cats and steep hills and stairs. Onomichi is located in Hiroshima Prefecture and has been an inspiration for generations of filmmakers, like Yasujiro Ozu classic Tokyo Story (Tokyo Monogatari).

Exploring ONOMICHI 尾道 | JAPAN CINEMATIC TRAVEL VIDEO
This hilly port town is “Onomichi”, which is one hour and a half away from Hiroshima city by train.
This town is kind of small but there are a bunch of ways to hang out here.
1. Looking around Japanese traditional temples
You can enjoy more than 50 temples here and the atmospheres are more local than Kyoto.
2. Interacting with thousands of adorable cats
According to someone’s estimate, the reason why there are many cats here is that this town has a port and they have come up to the fishes lol
3. Eating local foods
I think “Onomichi ramen” is the best soy source soup ramen in the world.
Other than these, you can enjoy cycling in the location where have been chosen as one of the most beautiful cycling roads in the world by CNN.

[One Day Trip in Japan] Onomichi in Spring. A thousand cherry blossoms, retro townscape and cats. 尾道
This time, I took a one-day trip to Onomichi in spring. The scenery of Onomichi and the 1,000 cherry blossoms at Senkoji Temple were too wonderful. Everywhere I walked in the streets, I felt nostalgic and retro. The newly built observatory with a 180° panoramic view, the Onomichi ramen that had people waiting in line everywhere, the lovely cafes, the view of the seaside and a walk. It was a very satisfying day, healed by the time that flowed slowly.

今回は、春の尾道へ日帰り旅行です。尾道の景色と千光寺に咲く1000本の桜が素敵すぎました。街のどこを歩いても、どこか懐かしい感じがするレトロな街並み。新しくできた180°パノラマビューの展望台、どこも行列の尾道ラーメン、なんとも素敵なカフェ、海岸の景色と散歩、そしてたくさんの猫達。どこかゆっくりと流れる時間にも癒されて大満足の1日でした。

Onomichi is located along Seto island sea.
It's old-fashioned town and famous for many slopes.
You can go up to top on the mountain and see beautiful port area.
And there is a famous temple, SENKO-JI TEMPLE, there.

Today I explore the beautiful city of Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture.
Onomichi is very famous for the Shimanami-Kaido(しまなみ海道). But if you watch this video I think you’d want to see other parts of the town too. And there’s much more than I was able to show you in the video.
In the video I said “Onomichi is famous for a couple dishes” and I introduced the Onomichi Ramen. But besides that, Okonomiyaki arranged in Onomichi style which locals call “Onomichiyaki” is super yummy too. I tried it off camera and it was awesome. If you have a chance, try it.

Nostalgia - A Travel Movie About Japan
I made this Japan movie from some old footage I had taken when I visited the country back in 2015. There is no other place more fascinating than Japan, and I can say that with full confidence after visiting a few other countries after that. More, I visited Japan during autumn, and the Koyo (autumn leaves) were nothing like anything I had ever seen. This video is exactly how I think of Japan. This one is shot on my old Canon instead.
