OUT OF CONTROL Indian STREET FOOD Tour of MULUND & MOHAMMAD ALI ROAD | Mumbai, India

???? WATCH: Spicy Indian Jungle Food
???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE SHIRTS & MERCH:

My first night in Mumbai I went on an out of control Indian street food tour of Mulund and Mohammad Ali Road. From Indian Burger to Nitrogen Biscuits and so much more!

We start off our tour in the Mulund neighborhood where we get some Chai to start the eating Indian street food. From there we hopped on a rickshaw and went out to eat Indian Burger or Kalidas Masala Vada Pav. This is basically bread with masala.

Next up we went for some really cold Ice Bhel. It was one of the coldest dishes I tried in Indian but it was perfect to battle the heat in Mumbai. To end the tour of Mulund we tried one of the most unique things in the world, Nitrogen Biscuit at the Ice Cream Factory. It was so cold and delicious!

We jumped on a local train and headed 45 minutes south to Mohammad Ali Road to try some non-veg food. Our first snack was a Chicken Sandwich which was so good. Next we tried a Mutton Roll, I've never had this before.

We then tried a Chicken Lolipop, it's basically a drumstick with some delicious red curries. The flavor was incredible! Our last big snack was Mutton and Chicken Kebab's. There is nothing like non-veg Indian food!

To end the tour we cooled down the heat with some Lassi! I can drink Lassi all day!!

Mulund:
-Chai
-Kalidas Masala Vada Pav
-Ice Bhel
-Nitrogen Biscuit

Mohammad Ali Road:
-Chicken Sandwich
-Mutton Roll
-Chicken Lolipop
-Mutton & Chicken Kebab
-Lassi

I hope you loved this Mumbai Indian Street Food tour of Mulund and Mohammad Ali Road. Have you ever eaten any of these dishes or been to these areas?

:

#mrtaster #steetfood #india

I am in Mumbai, and with the company and guidance of my dear friends, I'm going to try some of the famous Mumbai foods at places where they make these authentic Indian dishes the best way.

Video's Info:
Iconic Mawa Malpua, Jalebi, and Gulab Jamun in Minara Sweets:
Minara Sweets in Mumbai is a popular place to find traditional Indian sweets like Mawa Malpua, Jalebi, and Gulab Jamun. The process of making these sweets is detailed, with batter poured into hot oil and fried until each piece is perfectly cooked. The Mawa Malpua is served with syrup, while the Mawa Jalebi is darker in color thanks to saffron and is often served in a sugar syrup. The Gulab Jamun is outstanding. Minara Sweets is a treasure trove of sweet treats for those in Mumbai.

Red Tandoori Chicken and Beef Kebabs:
In Mumbai, there's a goldmine of delicious street kebabs being grilled over charcoal. With a wide variety available, the red tandoori chicken stands out as unique and vibrant in color, marinated with salt and spices that create a wonderful, spicy, & salty taste. The beef kebab is also incredible, with a masterful flavor. Watching the kebabs being fanned and oiled while grilling is a beautiful scene. Served with onion and mint, these kebabs are truly a spectacular and tasty delight.

Amazing Paan Chews at Shabbir Ahmed's Paan Shop:
Paan is a chew made from betel leaves with various toppings inside. Shabbir Ahmed's Paan Shop in Mumbai is famous for their unique and flavorful paan. It has a strange taste but becomes even more flavorful as you chew it.

Raan Biryani, Lamb & Chicken Tandoori at Shalimar Restaurant:
Shalimar restaurant in Mumbai serves delicious Indian dishes like Raan Biryani and Lamb & Chicken Tandoori. They use a unique marination process for the goat meat, cook it in a charcoal oven, and serve it with excellent gravy. The Chinese food section is also noteworthy, and they offer a variety of dishes with different spices. The sautéed rice with tandoori lamb is a must-try and the restaurant has beautiful decorative fish.

Tawa restaurant's Biryani Rice Pilaf, Beef, & Chicken Bhuna :
At Tawa restaurant in Mumbai, they cook amazing Indian dishes on a massive tawa that weighs 180 kilograms! The restaurant, which has been around since 1978, serves up dishes like biryani rice pilaf, chicken and beef bhuna, and beef pilaf. The unique cooking style of these dishes is mesmerizing to watch, as they continuously prepare different dishes on the tawa. They also make bread with a mix of bone marrow, cabbage, tomato, onion, red chili, and Indian spices which is truly delicious. The Beef Pilaf and Dabang Bhuna are exceptional and served on a naan bread with mayo. Overall, the Tawa restaurant offers an exciting and memorable tasting experience with its delicious Indian cuisine cooked on a massive tawa.

Tandoori chicken pilaf, raita sandwich & chicken tikka :
In Mumbai, a delicious Tandoori Chicken pilaf is made by mixing shredded tandoori chicken, egg, green chili, onion, tomato, and vinegar with rice and pepper in a pan. A special Raita sandwich is also made by adding chicken and a special cream to bread, pouring raita on top, and letting it slightly fry on a tava. Along with these dishes, kebabs on a charcoal grill are also served. Other dishes include brain and kidney mixed with cumin seeds, tomato paste, ginger, garlic, and turmeric. These dishes are mixed together and cooked with a special lid. On Independence Day, all Indians are respected and thanked for their contributions to this delicious cuisine.

I absolutely love trying different, interesting, and sometimes even strange foods from all around the world! If you have any thoughts on the videos, please share them in the comments.???? I really hope you enjoy watching my videos and that you'll stick around for more food adventures!

NIGHT Indian STREET FOOD Tour of JM Road - Pani Puri, Sponge Dosa & Tawa Pulao | Pune, India

???? SAM:
???? WATCH: South Indian Cooking
???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE SHIRTS & MERCH:

In November of 2018, I visited India for the second time in less than a year to experience more of the country’s delicious food and fascinating culture. I can’t get enough of this gorgeous country!

Subscribe to Dharmesh:

Even though my friend Sam and I arrived in Pune around sunrise on zero hours of sleep, we explored throughout the morning and day with our new friend Dharmesh and kept it going with an epic nighttime street food tour of JM Road that I’ll never forget. Join us as we cap off our first day in Pune in the best way possible: by stuffing our bellies with some mouthwatering Maharashtrian food!

My Film Making Kit ►

Here are the amazing foods Sam, Dharmesh, and I ate on JM Road!

- Masal Puri

The first thing we tried was the colorful Masal Puri, which is made up of puris (hollow, unleavened, deep-fried bread balls) that are topped with a hot masala gravy containing puffed rice, green peas, chili powder, chaat masala, garam masala, coriander powder, and more, along with onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves, and crunchy chickpea noodles called sev. It was fresh, crunchy, and bursting with spices without being spicy-hot.

-Pani Puri

Next, I had to go for one of my favorite dishes from my first trip to India, Pani Puri, a traditional Maharashtrian dish that consists of a puri that is punctured and then filled with a delicious, minty soup or sauce that contains chili, tamarind chutney, chaat masala, chickpeas, onion, and potatoes. It exploded in my mouth and was every bit as flavorful as I remembered!

-Sponge Dosa

Our next food conquest was the sponge dosa, also known as the set dosa, a type of Indian pancake or crepe which gets its name from its soft, light, and spongy texture. It was served with a spicy tomato-garlic chutney, a tropical mint-coconut Chutney, and a potato mash. The tomato-garlic chutney was so hot, I needed to go back to the mint-coconut to cool my mouth down! The sponge dosa is my favorite dosa I’ve ever had!

-Tawa Pulao

With my stomach ready for more outstanding Indian street food, we continued along JM Road and found some Tawa Pulao, a spice-filled fried rice dish that is cooked on a flat grill called a tawa and contains green peas, onions, tomatoes, and pav bhaji masala powder. The rice wasn’t too soft, kind of al dente, and the dish itself wasn’t overbearingly hot. It reminded me of a Chinese rice dish, but with Indian flavors, and was absolutely delicious.

-Buttermilk

The final thing we tried on our nighttime street food tour of Pune was a refreshing, creamy, spiced buttermilk drink that is made from yogurt, masala, and various spices. The milk is strong, rich, and pure, with a hint of the various spices inside it. It was the perfect way to cool down and settle our stomachs after a long night of eating spicy foods!

I hope you had enjoyed coming along with me on my nighttime street food tour of JM Road in Pune! If you did please give this video a thumbs up, leave a comment and subscribe to my channel for more awesome travel and food content!

$50 Dahi Puri CHALLENGE - Indian Street Food Challenge TAKE OUT Edition | Miami, Florida

???? 7 Indian Restaurants in South Florida -
???? WATCH: Indian Veg Food Take-Out -
???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE SHIRTS & MERCH:

Eight weeks into self-isolation, I had another craving for Indian food, so Ana and I decided to do a $50 Dahi Puri challenge at home! Come along with us as we take on this latest Indian street food challenge to see how many Dahi Puris we could eat!

Dahi Puri is one of the top Indian street foods from the state of Maharashtra. It comes from Mumbai, and it’s one of my absolute favorites. The dish consists of a fried, puffed-up flatbread called a puri, which you then fill with yogurt, potatoes, vegetables, and more. Usually, dahi puri is served six at a time, whereas its cousin, Pani Puri, which contains a spiced water instead of yogurt, is served one at a time.

We hit up Bollywood Masala, or favorite local Indian restaurant, so they gave us everything we’d need to build our own Dahi Puris! You pop a hole in the puri and fill it with potatoes, tamarind chutney, mint chutney, yogurt, sev, more yogurt, red onions, and cilantro. You can also add a spicy, red chutney, which contains chili flakes.

I was planning on beating my all-time record of 30-35 today. I wanted to go for 50! We popped open our first puris and added potato, a squirt of tamarind and mint chutneys, yogurt, sev, more yogurt, onions, and cilantro. The potatoes were nice and soft, while the puri and sev were crunchy. We fed each other the first ones. It’s super light and is a great dish for hot weather!

Then, we built our second puris and went from there. They were so tasty. You can find them everywhere in Mumbai—Mohammad Ali Road, the Mulund area, and so many others. For my fourth puri, I added some of the spicy, red chutney. The spice was so tasty!

The thing is, you can’t build the puris beforehand because they’ll get soggy and fall apart. We actually had some puris that we could fry up on another day!

While we continued to build, Ana came up with a fun idea: dessert puris containing Nutella! They would be out of control, for sure! Then, Ana built quite seven more so we could speed things along. I went through all seven super fast!

Then, I built a bunch for myself. I had to be delicate puncturing the puris—my fingers were too big and I broke some! I had a few more, and then Ana built another 12 for me. They were nice and spicy and tasty. I wanted to take my time with them and really enjoy them.

Ana built her final one, putting her at 15 total. Then, she built more for me, but it takes time to do it. They’re addictive, for sure, but are really filling after a while. They’re like the veg version of nachos!

What an awesome $50 Dahi Puri challenge! Next time you’re in Miami, hit up Bollywood Masala to do your own Puri challenge!

NEVER ENDING Indian STREET FOOD Night Tour of the PINK CITY | Jaipur, India

During my visit to Jaipur, aka the Pink City I went on a never ending Indian street food tour with my friend Atray from Hungry Walks and in association with Delhi Food Walks to try all the amazing Indian street food in Jaipur!

We started our never-ending Indian street food tour with some Chai at Sahu Chai Wala. They have a different type of Chai because they make it on coal and it simmers for a long time.

Next up is Aloo Tikki a deep fried potato patty with chick pea curry and Papdi Chaat a fried wafer snack. They were both delicious!!

To change things up we went and got a quick dessert called Mishri Mawa which is rice pudding with cardamon. A great way to change up the taste!

We then hit up a place to try some mouth fresheners. I tried like 7 things, but everything had spices so be-aware of that!

A must visit is Achar Shop which is a 180 year old pickle shop that has some of the tastiest pickles in the world! The best was the mango flavored pickle, wow so good!

Next is Kachori, a fried pastry with yogurt and chutney! A very tasty dish!

We had to hit up another pastry shop and we dried Laddu, which is basically a glazed doughnut. It was extremely sweet!

Then on to the main course to try some Rajasthani food! We tried Gatte Ki Sabzi, Daal, Aloo Pyaz Sabzi and Bejad Ki Roti. The combination was really delicious! The taste of the Gatte Ki Sabzi was the winner for me!

We then went on to try three things, Kadhai Ka Doodh which is milk that simmers for hours. Thandi which is like a Indian slushy with berries and nuts and Paan.

Out of everything we tried my favorite was the Rajasthani food! It was top notch!!

Here is the list of all the dishes:
-Chai
-Aloo Tikki
-Papdi Chaat
-Mishri Mawa
-Mouth Fresheners
-Achar Shop
-Kachori
-Laddu
-Gatte Ki Sabzi
-Daal
-Aloo Pyaz Sabzi
-Bejad Ki Roti
-Kadhai Ka Doodh
-Thandi
-Paan

Next time you find yourself in Jaipuri definitely book a tour with my friends at Delhi Food Walks:

Super LATE NIGHT Indian STREET FOOD at 3 am - Bademiya | Mumbai, India

In November of 2018, I visited India for the second time to explore the incredible food and fascinating culture of the subcontinent. I landed in Mumbai around midnight and met up with my friend Sam from Samuel & Audrey.

We immediately hit the ground running with some unforgettable late night street food at Bademiya Restaurant with fellow food vlogger Priyanka Tiwari before we drove to the city of Pune a few hours later. Here’s a rundown of the delectable Indian dishes we tried!

My Film Making Kit ►

1. Chicken Seekh Kebabs

These incredible, grilled chicken kebabs were tender, spicy, and juicy and with the very first bite, reminded me just how much I’ve missed Indian food! This dish is made with minced chicken along with spices such as chili flakes, ginger, garlic, coriander, cumin, garam masala, and onion paste. It was so flavorful!

2. Chicken Tandoori

The next thing we tried was chicken tandoori, a popular Indian staple where the chicken is marinated in a mixture of dahi (yogurt) and tandoori masala, which is a mixture of several different spices. The chicken’s signature red coloring comes from cayenne powder, red chili powder, and turmeric that is then added before it cooks in a clay oven called a tandoor. The chicken was so fresh and smoky, and had a slight charcoal taste, and I loved it!

3. Chicken Tikka

This chicken dish is essentially a boneless version of chicken tandoori, as it’s marinated in a very similar way. The chicken tikka Sam and I had was not too hot, but full of spices and mouthwatering flavor.

4. Paneer Bhurji

Next up was a rich and spicy paneer bhurji, a dish that’s made with an un-aged, non-melting cottage cheese called paneer; ingredients like tomatoes, onion, garlic, and green chilies; and served with flatbread. It wasn’t too spicy, but the green chilies definitely give it a nice kick!

I hope you enjoyed this quick late-night street food tour at Mumbai’s Bademiya Restaurant! If you did please give this video a thumbs up, leave a comment and subscribe to my channel for more awesome travel and food content!

We started off by exploring a bit of the fort area where we walked through the Colaba Market. Then headed straight to the Gateway of India. It's definitely worth visiting at night because it's lit up!

Next we headed to Bademiya to have some Kebab rolls. This place is famous for their chicken and mutton kebabs. They are open all night, so it's a perfect place to come after dark!

We then headed to CST Train Station which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Right next door to the station there is a open air food court where you can eat some of the best Indian street food after dark in Mumbai.

We started with a Pav Bhaaji, which is a tomato based dish with bread. Next up we tried three dishes, Dahi Puri, Ragda Pattice and Sev Puri. They were all very sweet Indian street food dishes, so delicious!

And lastly we headed to Badshah to try some Falooda's! This is a smoothie, shake, ice cream with jelly's and noodles. This is a very refreshing drink that is perfect to combat the Mumbai heat!

Kochi INDIAN STREET FOOD Tour at Night - Prawn Curry, Egg Dosa & Mud Chicken | Kerala, India

???? EBBIN:
???? CORAL ISLE HOTEL:
???? DAVID’S BEEN HERE SHIRTS & MERCH:

After driving four hours from the mountain town of Munnar to the coastal city of Kochi, my seventh day in Kerala continued with an epic nighttime street food tour! Join me as I go on an Indian street food tour where I try prawn curry, an egg dosa, and mud chicken in Kochi, Kerala, India!

My evening began at the Coral Isle Hotel, where I went to their rooftop Upper Berth restaurant, where I went to try their prawn curry. It contained six spices including chilies, coconut paste, black pepper, curry leaves, and onions. They sautéed them in a pan and then wrapped them up in a big banana leaf and then grilled it!

The dish looked phenomenal and tasted even better! It contained an overload of coconut with the coconut paste and had a nice spiciness. It was still really hot but was so ridiculously tasty. It was sweet, succulent, and super delicious! I loved the chilies, black pepper, and other spices in it. There was some spiciness, but it wasn’t killer. I loved the coconut flavor and the flavor of the banana leaf, which had been infused into the dish!

Then, I headed out and met up with Ebbin. On our way to get some mud-baked chicken, we came across a random vendor selling egg dosas out of the back of a tuk-tuk. They looked like the tata dosas I’d had in Varkala, like standard pancakes and had an egg mixture with onions, chilies, and other things added on top of it before flipping it! You eat them with sambar and tomato chutney.

It was a nice dosa and had lots of peppers. If I hadn’t known it was a dosa, I would have thought it was straight scrambled eggs! I loved the pepper, and the tomato chutney was so juicy! I also loved the light sambar. Because this was a start-up food truck and egg dosas weren’t on their menu, they gave it to us free of charge. The people in India are so nice!

Then, headed over to Midnight Chicken, a super popular spot that sells mud-baked chicken. We walked through the restaurant to a dining hall on the second level. Our waiter brought it and unwrapped the layers of foil and mud to reveal chicken and rice wrapped in a banana leaf!

The chicken was so soft. It tasted like biryani with less rice. It wasn’t spicy at all. Then, I dipped it into a light but spicy chutney, followed by mayo, which was nice. I don’t love mayo, but this was fresh, house-made mayo. The mud and the banana leaf really changed the flavor! It was also super tender and the spice hit me later. It costs 630 rupees/$8.30 USD!

Then, we headed to a stall selling chicken fry and beef dry fry. Beef dry fry is a specialty here in Kerala! The beef dry fry was chewy and had a nice, crunchy crust on it. I felt like I could eat a ton of it with some beer. The chicken contained a nice masala on it. It was one of the best fried chickens I’d ever had in India. It was right up there with Korean fried chicken and American fried chicken for me!

Because it was now 10:15 p.m. on a Wednesday, our night ended before we could go anywhere else, but there are at least a dozen other great spots I would have loved to have visited.

I hope you loved coming with me on my Kochi Indian street food tour in Kerala, India! If you did, please give this video a thumbs up and leave a comment below. Also, please subscribe to my YouTube channel and click the notification bell so you don’t miss any of my travel/food adventures around the world!

SUGARY Gujarati Indian BREAKFAST Food Tour Amongst Tombstones | Ahmedabad, India

One thing I’ve learned about India during my trips to the country in February and November of 2018 is that the food there is incredibly diverse. The flavors you encounter can vary widely from state to state, and many states and cities have dishes, dish variations, and cuisines that are unique to them. All of that makes the entire country an amazing smorgasbord of gastronomy that I can’t get enough of and I’m glad I got to eat my way though India with my travel buddy Sam from Samuel & Audrey in November!

After a jam-packed first day in Ahmedabad, day two dawned bright and early for me and Sam. We met back up with our friend Rutu and her brother, who took us on a delicious and sugary Gujarati breakfast food tour of the city! Come along with us as we continue exploring the final city on our seven-city trip, Ahmedabad!

My Film Making Kit ►

We started our day at Lucky Restaurant in the old part of Ahmedabad, a unique eatery that features graves, tombstones, and even a tree that comes up from the floor and goes into the ceiling! This site was actually a graveyard, and the restaurant was built around it.

Our first dishes were two types of bun: a Maska bun which contains butter, and a jam Maska bun, which adds a fruit jam to the butter. We had them along with masala chai, which contained cardamom, ginger, and mint. The Maska bun was fluffy with an overload of butter, and dipping it in the chai added a rich, cardamom flavor. The chai itself was really thick and almost chocolatey! The Maksa bun with jam was sweeter and made with a mixture of different fruits. I loved dipping it into the chai! Overall, it was a rich, fatty, calorie-rich way to start our day!

Right across the street, we visited the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, which was built between 1572 and 1573. It’s one of the most famous mosques in the city and is known for its intricately carved stone latticework windows, which depict the tree of life, the unofficial logo of Ahmedabad.

Next, we took a mile-long tuk tuk ride (50 rupees) to continue our breakfast tour with some Gujarati sweets at Kandoi in the Old City of Ahmedabad. This sweet shop has been around since 1845 and I couldn’t wait to try their food!

We tried six different sweets, all of which looked very nutty. The first one was called Mohanthal, which was a soft and incredibly sugary grainy cake that was full of ghee and nuts.

Next was a dried fruit halwa, which was soft, crunchy, dense, and bursting with cardamom flavor. Our next sweet was a dense cake or cookie made with almonds and cashews that had a minty flavor and an edible foil on top.

Next, I tried another halwa that contained raisins and cashews. It was so soft it started falling apart as I held it. It was rich in sugar, but was my favorite so far! The next halwa was made of cashews, ghee, and milk and felt like a Rice Krispies Treat. It was super dense and was a total sugar overload! The last halwa was a barfi, which was kind of chocolatey with nuts and cinnamon flavor. I could also taste lots of sugar and ghee. They were the most sugary treats I’ve ever had in my life, but they were also delicious!

After that sugar rush, I needed something savory, so we hopped in another tuk tuk to grab some more Gujarati food, including gota, which is a fenugreek leaf fritter, and nylon khaman, which is a type of dhokla, and a potato fritter called Aloo Vada. The nylon khaman was spongy, airy, and moist, with a little bit of spice and coconut flavor. I loved it! The gota was like a fried vegetable fritter and the Aloo Vada was made of a soft potato mash. The gota and Aloo Vada together were amazing! All four items together came to just 40 rupees. What a deal!

Wow! What an amazing morning this was. I loved every moment of it, especially the sweets and that crazy tuk tuk ride!

I hope you enjoyed this video of our sweet breakfast food tour of Ahmedabad! If you did, please give it a thumbs up and leave me a comment below. Also, please subscribe to my channel and click the notification bell so you don’t miss any of my upcoming food and travel content!

With just a few days left on our whirlwind trip through India, Sam and I had only one more city left to explore.
