As a first time Nikon shooter, I had no idea what to expect when I picked up the Z 6 mirorrless camera but over the past month of extensively using the camera, I can confidently share this review of the pros and cons of the Z 6 and if I'm about to convert to a Nikon shooter.

The Nikon Z6 Might Be The Most Exciting Video Camera On The Market
with Talk of the Fuji xt3 the upcoming Panasonic full frame camera and the upcoming Sony crop sensor camera it feels as if everybody is overlooking what the Nikon Z6 could be. The Nikon Z6 offers video features that we currently do not have from any other manufacturer on the market. Good Nikon Z6 offers 10 bit 4K video to an external recorder a very low compression ring. this is a long with Nikon's new and improved color science and the new Nikon log profile. Although it has older style battery the fact that it can be charged via USB C is extremely underrated. While other cameras do offer competitive if not better video stocks they do not do this at. Don't make the same mistake I did by not having a cloud backup for my photos/video.

i WON'T be UPGRADING to the Nikon Z 6II ... here's WHY
I won't be upgrading to the new Nikon Z 6II(2) because it just isn't enough of an upgrade. I have had the Z 6 since June of 2019 and I love it, it does everything that I need it to do. So for the money, I don't think it is worth the switch. Here I share some of the things I like about the Z 6, some things I don't like, and the reasons I won't be upgrading.

Nikon Z6 & Z7 Mirrorless Camera Images Leaked! Copying Sony??
we have recently seen leaked images of the upcoming Nikon mirrorless cameras. It seems that Nikon's approach with their new mirrorless bodies being the z7 and Z6 is to copy Sony's business model. with these upcoming Nikon mirrorless cameras we can see that Nikon is choosing to use the same camera bodies but Place different sensors and different Tech inside each of these cameras. this approach allows Nikon to manufacture the bodies for these mirrorless cameras significantly cheaper than that of their conventional cameras. Along with this reduced cost in manufacturing I'm hoping that Nikon's new mirrorless cameras are able to pack more Tech and more Innovative features inside. Along with these new mirrorless camera designs using the same camera bodies would allow Nikon to engineer the thermal dynamics of the processor research and development cost. while Sony has in my opinion changed the industry by using one camera body design to lower production costs and provide Tech at a rock-bottom price I find it especially interesting that Nikon has taken this approach with their cameras and it gives me a lot of hope that Nikon will use the Savings in research and development to add more video features which has been a place that Nikon has traditionally been lacking. Will the new Nikon Mirrorless z6 & z7 ba genuine threat to Sony's mirrorless dominance? also it's going to be extremely interesting to see if these Nikon mirrorless cameras will be enough to persuade Converse to come back to Nikon from Sony or will it be enough to satisfy the needs of the modern hybrid shooter?

Ist the Nikon Z6 picture quality bad?
Disclaimer: I am not a professional tech reviewer with the best tools, so this comparison will not be perfect.
In this video I am comparing RAW photos shot on the Nikon Z6 (using DX option) to photos shot on the Nikon D7100 (DX), focusing on the ISO setting and the resulting grain.
I am using the same lens on all photos at the same focus length (200mm) while cycling through different ISO settings and adapting the shutter speed for the wanted exposure. All other settings are set to be as similar as possible.

Nikon Z6 Firmware 3.5 REVIEW+INSTALLATION
Nikon recently released its firmware updates for most Z camera bodies, and included within that was the Nikon Z6. Below are the updates on this firmware in the words of Nikon:
• Save focus position and Recall focus position have been added to the roles that can be assigned using Custom Setting f2 Custom control assignment in the CUSTOM SETTING MENU. As of October 20, 2022, these options were supported with the following lenses:
- NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S
- NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 VR S
- NIKKOR Z 400mm f2.8 TC VR S
- NIKKOR Z 400mm f4.5 VR S
- NIKKOR Z 800mm f6.3 VR S
• The behavior of autofocus during memory recall has been improved to ensure that the focus position will not change in any focus mode even if the shutter-release button is pressed halfway while focus recall is in progress.
Overall I found the update improved the overall auto-focus/tracking with my FTZ II adapter, but have you tried the newest firmware?????
