MARRAKECH, MOROCCO (2023) | 10 BEST Things To Do In & Around Marrakech

Marrakech is located in the center of Morocco. With its vibrant colors, buzzing atmosphere, mix of tradition and modernity, and aromatic smells, it’s a city like no other: Marrakech truly stimulates all your senses at once.

10. Explore the Marrakech medina (free walking tour)
The medina is the heart of the Marrakech, packed with shops, traditional houses called “riads”, restaurants, and many of the historic sites.

☑️ Free walking tour:

???? WHERE TO STAY IN THE MEDINA:
- Riad Basma (where we stayed - budget option):
- Palais Dar Donab (more luxurious):

9. Try the traditional local food
Some staples you have to try include couscous, meat brochettes, and the most iconic dish of all: tagine.

8. Visit the Saadian Tombs
The Saadian Tombs are a 16th century burial ground of the Saadian dynasty, which ruled over Marrakech between 1524 and 1668.

7. Find peace at the Majorelle Gardens
Located in Marrakech’s new town, these lush botanical gardens are filled with cacti, palms, and other colorful trees.

6. Stroll around Mellah Jewish Quarter
There are still a number of Jewish places here, including the Lazama Synagogue, the Miara Jewish Cemetery, and the Spice Market.

5. Get lost in the souks
What makes the souks in Marrakech remarkable is the wide variety of exotic items you can buy, such as babouches, lanterns, ceramics, carpets, and leather goods.

☑️ Different souks in Marrakech:

4. Check the ruins of El Badi Palace
The Saadian Ruler Al-Mansour who was buried in the Saadian Tombs built this grand palace in the 16th century.

3. See the beautiful Bahia Palace
After El Badi Palace, it might be interesting to see the contrast with the beautiful Bahia Palace, which was built in the late 19th century.

2. Go on a day tour to the Ouzoud Waterfalls
With a height of 110 meters or 360 feet, these are the tallest waterfalls in the country. A day tour from Marrakech includes a hike down to the river, do a short boat ride to get closer to the falls, and hike up again.

☑️ Ouzoud Waterfalls day tour:

1. Experience the Jemaa el-fna square + Koutoubia
the Jemaa-el-Fna square is the hub of entertainment, with a variety of food and juice stalls, musicians, fortune-tellers, henna tattoo artists, and snake charmers.

☑️ Traditional Moroccan Cooking Class & Market:
☑️ Atlas day hiking trip:

The TRUTH about the 3 Day Tour from MARRAKECH to the SAHARA DESERT (Merzouga) - IS IT WORTH IT?

Are you thinking of taking the 3 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi sand dunes in the Sahara Desert? If so, you've found the right video!

In this video I'll take you along and show you in detail what the tour is like. I'll show the truth, the good and the bad. The driving, the sights along the way, the food, the accommodation, the timings, the costs. Everything.

It’s a popular tour for anyone visiting Morocco, and it’s the real thing right to the edge of the Sahara proper, rather than the one day tours. Before I went I couldn’t find that much information online prior to going. There was no real detail about exactly what you see, where you stay and what you eat. Also, what you get for paying a little extra for the luxury option.
This is the video I wish I had been able to watch before going.

We’ll go from Marrakech and up into the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass - The highest pass through the mountains. From there we come out the other side of the mountains and visit and amazing ancient town of Ait Ben Hadou, where many movies have been filmed. We’ll stop at the Rose valley and the Dadès Gorges before going to the hotel for the night.

On day 2, we’ll visit Tinghir and the Todgha Gorge before getting to Merzouga and riding a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes to the camp for the night.

The final day is the long journey back to Marrakech. On this day I’ll give you my full summary of the tour - the good, the bad, advice and tips.

Here's a full breakdown of what the tour involved, allowing you to go straight to any part you're interested in. Be sure to watch to the end so that you can hear my summary and useful tips!

This was filmed on 24, 25, 26 May.

Discover Marrakech, Morocco ???????? charm: Ultimate 4-day travel guide | Top3Videos

Marhaba! Welcome to Marrakech, the vibrant and culturally rich city in Morocco. In this video, we will take you on a 4-day itinerary of Marrakech, showcasing its enchanting medinas, bustling souks, and architectural wonders. Join us as we immerse ourselves in the sights, sounds, and flavors of this magical city.

0:00 Intro
0:32 DAY 1: Exploring the Historic Medina
We begin our journey in the heart of Marrakech, at the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa square. Start your day by diving into the labyrinthine alleys of the medina. Marvel at the intricate architecture of the Bahia Palace and explore its beautifully decorated rooms and tranquil gardens.
For lunch, head to the bustling souks and try traditional Moroccan street food. Savor flavorsome dishes like tagine, couscous, and savory pastries. In the afternoon, visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech, and admire its stunning minaret.

1:14 DAY 2: Majestic Gardens and Cultural Immersion
Today, we recommend exploring the lush gardens and immersing yourself in the local culture. Start your day by visiting the peaceful and picturesque Majorelle Garden, designed by French painter Jacques Majorelle. Explore the vibrant blue buildings, exotic plants, and the Museum of Islamic Art within the garden.
For lunch, indulge in a traditional Moroccan feast at a riad or a local restaurant. Taste aromatic dishes like pastilla, kebabs, and Moroccan salads. In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Marrakech, housed in a former palace, to learn about the city's history and cultural heritage.

1:59 DAY 3: Day Trip to the Atlas Mountains
Today, we suggest taking a day trip to the breathtaking Atlas Mountains. Embark on an adventure and explore the stunning landscapes, traditional Berber villages, and cascading waterfalls. Enjoy a hike in the High Atlas Mountains or take a scenic drive to the Ourika Valley.
For lunch, savor a traditional Berber meal in a local village, experiencing the warm hospitality and authentic flavors of the region. In the afternoon, visit a local cooperative and learn about the ancient art of argan oil production, a specialty of the region. Don't forget to enjoy the panoramic views and capture memorable photos of the mountain scenery.

2:44 DAY 4: Heritage and Culinary Delights
On our final day in Marrakech, we recommend delving into the city's heritage and indulging in its culinary delights. Start your day by visiting the historic Ben Youssef Madrasa, an Islamic college dating back to the 14th century. Admire the intricate architecture, beautifully carved woodwork, and ornate tilework.
For lunch, join a cooking class to learn the secrets of Moroccan cuisine. Prepare traditional dishes like couscous, tajine, or pastilla under the guidance of a local chef. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and savor the authentic flavors of Moroccan cuisine.
In the afternoon, visit the El Badi Palace, once a lavish palace and now a historic site with impressive ruins and panoramic views of the city. End your day by immersing yourself in the sensory overload of the Marrakech souks. Bargain for unique handicrafts, textiles, spices, and souvenirs to take home with you.

That concludes our 4-day itinerary of Marrakech, a city that captivates with its vibrant medinas, stunning architecture, and rich cultural heritage. From exploring the historic medina and majestic gardens to venturing into the Atlas Mountains and indulging in Moroccan cuisine, Marrakech offers a unique and unforgettable experience. Marrakech Travel guide | Best places to visit in Marrakesh Morocco

Marrakesh is a must visit destination so I decided to make a travel guide.
Looking for the top things to do in Marrakech Morocco? Here are the top places to visit in Marrakesh for your next holidays 2022!

Take a tour of Marrakech and enjoy our list of recommended attractions to see:
-Number 7: Jardin Majorelle, originally created by French artist Jacques Majorelle, the property was later on purchased by the fashion designers, Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé. Entry fee is 5 USD. It gets quiet busy and loses its charm with the crowd.
-Number 6: Jemaa El-Fna Square, real epicentre of Marrakech, the square will subdue its visitors by its charm. Visit it during the day and at night and notice the difference. This 11th century historic area is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
-Number 5: Maison de la Photographie, located in a nicely renovated Riad, it's a photo museum that takes you back in time. The Riad has a roof terrace where you can have food and drink and admire the stunning view of the Medina and the Atlas mountains.
-Number 4: Get lost in the medina and the souks, wander through the narrow alleys of the city's ancient walled medina, buy Moroccan handcrafted items, bargain, push the doors of hidden riads.
-Number 3: Bahia Palace, one of the masterpieces of Moroccan architecture. One of the best spots for your Instagram shots. Entry fee is 7 USD.
-Number 2: Le Jardin Secret, an oasis of tranquility in the chaotic Medina. Discover its gardens and buildings which are outstanding examples of Islamic art and architecture.
-Number 1: El Badi Palace was once the biggest and most splendid palace complex in Morroco. Today only its foundations remain but it is still magnificent, so much that Christian Dior held its fashion show in the palace to showcase his beginning of 2019 Cruise collection. The Palace also hosts the annual festival Marrakesh du rire with Jamel Debouze.

Stay tune for our next video on the best places to eat in Marrakesh. And subscribe.

Travelling to Morocco, Marrakesh | Sahara Sunrise | Medina Gardens Hotel | Part 5

Thank you for joining us on the second trip as a happy couple!
I think we got the grips of this Vlogging thing lol

We're going to Marrakesh in Morocco, if you haven't been then you must go!

We wake up super early to catch the sunrise but due to the fog it was hard to tell if at all when the sunrise is. We head towards breakfast which was so much better than the dinner the night before.

Heading back to Marrakesh to our final destination which takes roughly 9 hours we make a pitstop and catch some Moroccan lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed!

We visit a small shop on the way and see how argan oil is pressed by hand.

9 hours later we arrive at our final destination Medina Gardens in Marrakesh which is about 15 mins walk from the Medina Square!
