???? WATCH Best Moroccan Street Food in Marrakech, Morocco:

No Marrakech Morocco street food tour is complete without a visit to an underground pit where they roast whole entire lambs on a spit. This Marrakesh underground pit whole lamb roast specialty is one of the most popular foods in Morocco, and is up there with some of the best street food in the country.

We started off our day with a traditional Moroccan breakfast in Gueliz, before heading to a local place in the neighbourhood to watch the entire process of mechoui, the underground pit whole lamb roast. From the delivery of the whole lambs, we saw them butchered, put on a spit, lowered into the flaming hot underground pit, where they are sealed off with mud until the whole lamb is roasted to perfection.

The mechoui underground pit whole lamb roast is something that is special to Marrakech and a must try for anyone wanting to try some authentic, local street food in Marrakesh. The tastes and flavours are insane, with so much juiciness and tenderness to the meat, we were blown away by how tasty and delicious it was.

We hope you enjoy this Marrakech Morocco street food tour trying the mechoui underground pit whole lamb roast and traditional Moroccan breakfast in Morocco. Stay tuned for more street food adventures next week!

CRAZY $10 Moroccan Street Food Tour in Marrakesh Morocco!

Welcome to Marrakesh Morocco! In this Marrakech Morocco Vlog, I take you with me as I discover the city of Marrakesh and take you on the BEST Moroccan street food tour! But, the twist is that I am challenging myself to try all the best Moroccan food in Marrakesh for under $10, or 90 Moroccan Dirham. I hope you enjoy my Marrakesh Morocco Vlog and learn about the delicious street food of Morocco and the best food to try in Marrakech!

To start off my Marrakech Morocco Travel Vlog, I walk into the Marrakesh Medina in search of a traditional Moroccan breakfast. My first stop on my Marrakech Street Food Tour was to a small stand to get some Bessara, which is a traditional Moroccan fava bean soup. After pouring in the soup, the vendor added a heavy dose of oil and the Bessara is served with a pita bread and, of course, a traditional Moroccan sweet mint tea. After eating as much as I could of the Bessara (it was delicious, just so heavy), I continued walking around the Marrakech Medina. The next stop on my Marrakech Morocco Vlog and my Morocco Street Food Tour was to a try a crepe! The Moroccan Crepe was delicious, though quite a bit thicker than the French crepe. If you visit Marrakesh Morocco, or anywhere in Morocco for that matter, you will find tons of pomegranate juice stands, and after 2 street food stops, I knew it was time to quench my thirst with a local Moroccan pomegranate juice. So, the next stop on my Marrakesh Morocco Vlog, and my $10 challenge in Marrakech, was to get some freshly squeezed pomegranate juice and, oh boy, was it good!

After my pomegranate juice I continued to roam the Medina until I was ready to continue my Morocco Street Food Tour in Marrakesh Morocco for lunch! The next stop on my Marrakech Street Food tour was to try some traditional Moroccan tagine/tajine. Tagine is perhaps the most popular dish in Morocco and is a must try! Tagine/Tajine is the way the dish is cooked and the pot that is used to cook the ingredients, so there are many types of Moroccan Tagine. No Morocco Street Food Tour is complete without a tagine! After eating a delicious Moroccan Tajine, the next stop on my Marrakesh Morocco Vlog was just a few steps away to a local juice spot where you can get a mix of fresh fruit and vegetable juices for a great price!

The next stop on my Morocco Street Food Tour and one of the most popular Moroccan foods was to a local stand in the Marrakech Medina that sells Kefta. Kefta is a traditional Moroccan dish of minced meat. Next on my Marrakech Morocco Vlog and the next top on my Morocco street food tour was to try some Moroccan doughnuts, also known as Sfenj! These Moroccan donuts were absolutely delicious, I even got 2! The dough is fried fresh and then doused in honey for a sweet flavor. The Moroccan doughnuts were also great for my $10 challenge in Marrakesh!

After sunset, it was time to explore the main square in Marrakesh Morocco, Djemaa el Fna, which at night turns into a huge market where you can try all types of Moroccan food! No Marrakech Morocco Travel Guide and Marrakech Street Food Tour is complete without visiting Djemaa el Fna! The first stop at night on my Marrakesh Morocco Vlog was to a vendor in the Djemaa al Fna square to get some Moroccan snail soup, also called Ghoulal or Babbouche. It was my first time ever eating snails! After eating a few snails, the next stop on my Moroccan Street Food Tour in Marrakesh Morocco was to try some local Moroccan soup called Harira Soup. Harira soup is a tomato based soup with chickpeas, and was super tasty! After the Harira soup, I continued on indulging in Moroccan food with a pita sandwich and capping the night off with some spiced tea and sweets!

Exploring Marrakesh Morocco through a street food tour is potentially the best way to get to know this wild city! I hope you enjoyed my Marrakech Morocco Vlog and my Morocco Street Food Tour!

We are taking you on an amazing street food tour through Marrakech, Morocco. This city is full of delicious halal food and is home to one of the most interesting Medinas and the Jemaa el-Fnaa square.

We are starting with brunch at Azalai Urban Souk. This restaurant serves traditional Moroccan fare with a modern twist. Their menu is always different, ingredients are local and organic, and the dishes are colorful and creative. We had the full breakfast spread: classic Moroccan breads, orange juice, mint tea, egg & khlea tagine, smoked chicken quiche and eggs with smoked salmon. Everything was delectable and we highly recommend this place!

Next we are taking you through the Marrakech Medina, which is an extremely ancient city. Hidden street food stalls dot the twisting alleyways. We try a few snacks along the way to our lunch spot. We are having smoky meat kebabs - mixed beef & lamb, and liver & fat, loubia (white beans), salad and bread. We also ordered a Marrakech specialty Smen - an aged butter. This shop is the definition of street food stall and does not even have a name, yet is extremely popular with locals all day long.

For dinner, we are taking you to Abraj Bladi, outside of Marrakech’s Medina. This resort is absolutely beautiful, with traditional riad decor, and fantastic food. The chef prepared us a HUGE tagine and tanjia. We were also served a spread of traditional side dishes. It was the perfect end to our amazing trip across Morocco!!! Thank you to the Abraj Bladi family for hosting us. If you’re looking to stay in Marrakech, check out their resort in Marrakech:

Thank you for joining us on this incredible journey! We hope you had just as much fun as we did ALL ACROSS MOROCCO: Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Atlas Mountains, the Moroccan Sahara Desert, Dades Valley, Marrakech and everything in between! Marrakech is known as a bustling, wild city in the heart of Morocco, full of snake charmers and everything you could want to buy. Tucked away amongst everything are all kinds of different foods and tasty Moroccan street snacks to try. We set out to explore the best Moroccan street food in Marrakech, Morocco, on a massive Marrakesh food tour, starting our day with a unique msemen wrap near the main square.

Msemen is a very popular bread in Morocco, and Foundouk Gargaa does their msemen very differently, using the msemen as a wrap instead. We continued our Marrakesh food tour tasting the spicy khoudenjal tea, and discovering the most amazing Berber meat sandwich, hidden away from all the typical, way-too-touristy meat sandwich places. This hidden gem is a top food to eat in Marrakech.

Exploring the medina for the best Moroccan street food in Marrakech, we stumbled upon the spice market, full of incredible smells, flavours and tastes to sample, this is the place to come for tea and spices!

Even though we’ve tasted many delicious and flavourful tagines, there was one we still hadn’t tried, a rabbit tagine. Rabbit tagine is more popular in Marrakesh than other parts of the country. Very unique and tasty, this was definitely some of the best Moroccan street food in Marrakech, Morocco.

We hope you enjoy this epic Marrakesh food tour, tasting rabbit tagine, msemen wraps, Berber sandwiches and more! We tried some of the best Moroccan street food in Marrakech, Morocco today, but stay tuned, there’ll be more Moroccan food adventures next week.

It’s going to be an exciting day of Moroccan street food in Marrakesh!

A huge thank you to Moroccan Food Tour ( for arranging my trip to Morocco!

Breakfast - We started with breakfast donuts - known as sfenj - the dough is made into a ring by hand and deep fried. I especially loved the ones that are flattened and then filled with an egg on the inside. Next we had bisarra - Moroccan fava bean soup, which was delicious.

Zaazaa - Next up we stopped in a fruit shop and had a deluxe avocado milkshake with all sorts of toppings.

Chez Omar Sandwich Mixte - One of the highlights was Chez Omar Sandwich Mixte who makes classic Moroccan fast food sandwiches made with a mix of meats and onions and coriander all sizzled in oil on a hot plate. It’s a Moroccan street food you have to eat when you’re in Marrakesh. And it costs just 15 MAD ($1.49 USD)!

Continuing with this street food tour, we had some refreshing pomegranate juice, Loubia - Moroccan stewed white beans, and did some olives tasting.

Chez Lamine - Nothing is more famous in Marrakesh than Chez Lamine for their Mechoui - Moroccan pit roasted lamb. It’s quite a scene with all the lambs roasting in an underground oven.

Restaurant Tiznit - Full of lamb we headed to the next restaurant to try a Rabbit Tagine - Rabbit and raisins slow cooked in a clay pan, and another must eat dish in Marrakesh; Beef Tangia - Beef and spices slow cooked in clay vase.

Street Food Tour in Marrakech, Morocco ???????? Eating EVERYTHING I See| Street Food Tour in the Medina

Welcome to the vibrant streets of Marrakech, Morocco, where the air is filled with the tantalizing aroma of spices and the sizzle of delicious street food being prepared right before your eyes. In this video, we will take you on a culinary journey through the bustling alleys of Marrakech, exploring the diverse and mouthwatering street food scene that this ancient city has to offer.

As you navigate through the narrow, maze-like streets of Marrakech, you will encounter a wide variety of food stalls, each offering their own unique flavors and specialties. One of the must-try street food items in Marrakech is the famous Moroccan tagine. This slow-cooked stew is made with a combination of succulent meat, aromatic spices, and vegetables, all cooked to perfection in a traditional clay pot. The result is a meltingly tender and flavorful dish that is sure to satisfy your taste buds.

Another popular street food in Marrakech is the savory and aromatic Moroccan couscous. Made from semolina grains, couscous is typically served with a hearty stew made with vegetables, meat, and spices. The fluffy and delicate texture of couscous combined with the rich and fragrant flavors of the stew make for a truly delectable meal that is loved by locals and visitors alike.

If you're a fan of grilled meats, you're in for a treat in Marrakech. The city is known for its mouthwatering kebabs, which are made from skewered and grilled meat, usually chicken or lamb, marinated in a blend of spices and served with a side of tangy sauce. The juicy and flavorful kebabs are often cooked right in front of you, adding to the sensory experience of enjoying street food in Marrakech.

As you explore the streets of Marrakech, you will also come across stalls selling a variety of fried snacks. One such popular snack is the Moroccan falafel, which are crispy and golden brown fritters made from chickpeas and spices. Served with a side of tahini sauce, these delicious and satisfying falafels are perfect for a quick and satisfying bite on the go.

For those with a sweet tooth, Marrakech has plenty to offer as well. One of the most beloved sweet treats in the city is the traditional Moroccan pastilla, also known as bastilla. This delicate and flaky pastry is filled with a mixture of sweet and savory ingredients, such as pigeon meat, almonds, cinnamon, and sugar, creating a unique and irresistible flavor profile that is both sweet and savory at the same time. The pastilla is typically dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon, adding a touch of sweetness to the already delightful treat.

If you're looking for something refreshing to quench your thirst, be sure to try a glass of Moroccan mint tea, known as atai. This iconic drink is a blend of green tea, fresh mint leaves, and sugar, creating a fragrant and invigorating beverage that is often served in ornate teapots and poured into small glasses. The process of pouring the tea from a height is an art form in itself, and watching the skilled tea pourers in action is a mesmerizing experience.

The street food scene in Marrakech is not just about the food, but also the vibrant atmosphere and bustling energy of the city. The streets are alive with the sounds of locals bargaining at the markets, the aromas of spices and grilled meats wafting through the air, and the colorful displays of food that tempt your senses at every turn. It's an experience that is not just about satisfying your hunger, but also immersing yourself in the rich culinary culture and traditions of Marrakech.

10 AMAZING Moroccan STREET FOODS you MUST try in MARRAKECH ???????? - DIY Food tour

We started our Marrakech street food tour with a few different Moroccan breakfast items, such as M'semen and Amlou spread, followed with Bissara at Fine Mama Restaurant. We then headed to Café et Patisserie Nawal for a deliciously sweet date smoothie. At Chez Omar we devoured a Sandwich Mixte and next door we had a surprising cheese Briwat. At Jemaa el-Fnaa we tried Cactus fruit for the first time. A Marrakech food tour would not be complete without taste testing some olives at Marché aux olive. We were amazed by the chicken Pastilla at Koulchi Zine combining sweet and savory flavors in a way we've never tasted before. We visited Patisserie Belkabir and sampled some tasty Moroccan sweets. After eating Hout Quari, a sardine burger that tastes like meat, we ended our tour with a bonus stop at Chez Lamine Hadj Mustapha where we ate a portion of juicy lamb and the craziest dish of the day: Sheep's head!

CRAZY STREET FOOD IN FES - Camel Kebab BBQ in Morocco (You've NEVER Seen this Before!)

???????? We travelled to Morocco with Moroccan Food Tour - They have amazing food tours and cooking classes across Morocco (Marrakech, Rabat, Casablanca, Fes and MORE). Go check them out :

We’re in Fès, Morocco’s arts and cultural capital! We’re taking you for a day of eating in the Fes Medina, and then a home-cooking family meal that you’ve never SEEN BEFORE! Make sure to watch until the end for delicious Fes food that will blow your mind!!!

We started our Moroccan Food Tour inside the Fès Medina. It is the largest Medina in the world and is home to over 9000 twisting & narrow alleyways, and is teaming with amazing street food. Here’s the street food we ate:

- Moroccan Yogurt: Eat it with a spoon, or just drink it! This is the perfect way to start a day of eating street food. Made from fresh cow milk, it is light and slightly sweet.

- Chebakia + Various Pastries: Moroccan pastry shaped as a rose, deep fried and covered in honey, rosewater and sesame seeds. These are particularly popular around Ramadan, which is happening now.

- Moroccan Nougat: Spongy, sweet and crunchy from nuts. Moroccan nougat can be found in many varieties of different flavours, colours and nuts.

- Camel Kebabs: We first visited the medina’s camel butcher. He minced the camel meat, seasoned it with spices and herbs and then we took it to Mr. Ayachi, the camel BBQ master. There, Mr. Ayachi created the camel meat into kefta, and grilled them over a super smoky fire. They were absolutely delicious!

- Cactus Fruit (Prickly Pear): Did you know you could eat cactus? This fruit has a deep pink color and has a similar flavour to dragonfruit. The fruit will dye your tongue pink!

After spending the day in the Fes Medina, we went to Riad Jardin Chrifa (where we were staying) to experience a family home-cooked meal. Moroccan Food Tour promised us a very special dish! When we arrived, the chef from Jardin Chrifa started preparing a traditional Fes dish: Tihane (stuffed spleen). The spleen is first cleaned out then is stuffed with minced beef, liver, eggs and Moroccan spices & herbs. Once it is overflowing with stuffing, the spleen is then sewed shut. It is roasted in the oven and served as one GIANT MOROCCAN SAUSAGE!

The Tihane was served alongside a HUGE spread of traditional Fassi dishes. It was an amazing experience to eat with everyone like a family. After dinner, we were also served Fassi style desserts.

We would like to say a big thank you to Riad Jardin Chrifa for the incredible hospitality and delicious Moroccan food. We highly recommend checking them out for a traditional Fes experience:

If you want to experience Morocco like we did, make sure to visit with Moroccan Food Tour. This is our second tour across Morocco with them, and we HIGHLY recommend their tours & service: or follow them @MoroccanFoodTour on Instagram and Facebook.

Trying sfenj (Moroccan doughnuts) | Marrakech street food tour

I went on a street food tour in the Medina of Marrakech to learn about and taste the city's specialities! Moroccan food is so much more than tagine and couscous.

Svenj is a Maghrebi doughnut. We tried this in the Jewish quarter in Marrakech.

This tour was part of a group trip I went on with Intrepid Travel. Thank you to our local Intrepid guides, Atika and Mariam.
