My Monster DIY Tensahedron Hammock Stand - Part 1
I wanted a hammock stand which could fit in my car for camping. I followed instructions from various people on hammockforums.net and improved a bit with my neighbor's help.

DIY Hammock Stand
I wanted a backyard hammock but didn't have usable trees. So I built a hammock stand that is fairly portable.
DIY Tarp Camping Canopy
I was about to purchase a couple hundred dollar canopy for an upcoming camping trip when I thought to myself, as i often do, why not make it. And then bam there it is. I spent $60 on the brown heavy duty 16 x 20 tarp at home depot. The 10 2x2 cedar poles were $7 each. I made the guy line out of cheap rope $12 50ft x 3 and a small wood block with 2 holes for adding tension. So just around $165. The benefits are this canopy will seat around 15 people in camp chairs. It is also modular in that you can cut poles to different lengths and move them back and forth among the many eyelets.

I installed a 10ft long 4X6 treated board in the back yard for hanging hammocks. This evening was my first opportunity to hang my Pares hammock for a short while and take some pictures. I didn't realize I was recording instead of taking pictures until later.
The tree I hang my hammock from is a Mango tree, it is on the left of the video and the new post is on the right, just follow the hammock strap to the post.
I'm really happy that I did this. Now I can hang up to four hamocks and have a hang soon.
