World's Most Dangerous Roads - Kazakhstan: Dead Steppe's

This video was shot 3 weeks before the invasion of Ukraine. I do NOT support this war, and my thoughts go out to our friends in Ukraine. We love you.

Welcome to YAKUTSK, (SIBERIA) - AKA the WORLD'S COLDEST CITY. More than 300,000 people live here, where winter temperatures (like right now) reach as low as -55 Celsius.

I went to Yakutsk a few weeks ago with my good friend Ammar from @YesTheory. The city is so remote that we had to take a 9-hour domestic flight from Moscow to get there.

As soon as we arrived in this cold winter wonderland, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Completely frozen trees, frozen pipelines, frozen cars… frozen everything!! But underneath the layers of jackets are extremely friendly faces and warm smiles. And that’s what I came here to learn about - humanity. Who are the Yakutian people? How do they survive these brutally cold winters?

This video takes you on a 4-day journey through the world’s coldest city - Yakutsk. I think you will be quite surprised to discover that Yakutsk is actually a normal city, just like anywhere else. It just happens to be extremely cold!

Thank you to my local friends Maria #1 and Maria #2 (from @LifeinYakutia) for showing me around! And thanks to Andrey for the awesome work behind the camera. And thank YOU so much for watching — this video is really special to me and many long hours of work have gone into it.

Have a great Sunday and I’ll see you next week.

Deadliest Journeys - Kazakhstan: Danger in the Steppe

In Kazakhstan, the inhabitants have adapted to withstand all of nature's challenges. This film takes us into the centre of a snowstorm where thousands of travellers find themselves caught in an enormous traffic jam. We meet farmers who rely on hostile land. The Aral Sea, now completely dried out, has given place to a desert made up of sand, salt, and dust that's toxic to the inhabitants.

Congo: Jungle Fever | Deadliest Journeys

00:00 In South Kivu in Congo, the city of Shabunda is one of the most isolated in the country. Its access is so difficult that life is more expensive there than in any European city. Thus, the poorest families come to look for food there by bicycle or motorbike. These convicts of the road sometimes transport up to 250 kilos of goods for several days, without worrying about the dangers. Without ever giving up, these travelers are almost all considered heroes because he who does not travel does not know the value of men, according to the Congolese.

Borneo: The Jungle Convoy | Deadliest Journeys

00:00 Borneo has one of the last primary forests in Southeast Asia.

A treasure that makes the fortune of forestry operations. Loggers and drivers come from all over Indonesia to seek the best wages in the country, slaughtering with all their might. Dangerous work carried out under extreme conditions. Massive deforestation has disfigured the region to the point of endangering the wildlife and indigenous peoples who live there. Borneo, the fourth largest island in the world, has become the symbol of this unequal struggle against the big companies which exploit its wealth to the detriment of its inhabitants, its fauna and its flora.

03:08 The island is shared by Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei
04:50 All Borneo inhabitants are armed
10:42 According to tradition, every tree shelters a spirit
13:10 Once a head-chopping tribe, now a peaceful one
13:59 Ali sells birds on the market to earn a living
19:48 Borneo is facing an ecological disaster: the island has lost 85% of its primary forest.
21:05 The wood from this forest is considered the hardest in the world.
24:24 With the rains, he has to drive on a muddy road
28:11 In the Derawan archipelago, the inhabitants hope that the search for oil will not destroy the archipelago.
32:37 The inhabitants of this archipelago are called sea gypsies.
35:30 With his load of wood, the road becomes perilous
41:00 To transport the logs, they float them
44:55 But sometimes the forest reclaims the land, erasing all human traces.

Deadliest Journeys - Cameroon, Birds and Lizards

In Cameroon, only 2% of the roads have been asphalted. All of the country's inhabitants rely on the Clandos' taxi services, they have no other choice. The country has no railway and taking airplanes is both too expensive and too dangerous.

00:00 Cameroon's bravest drivers are known as Clandos. They're illegal cabs, and they're the only ones allowed to drive on Cameroon's entire road network, one of the worst on the African continent.

06:20 Thanks to this, they have a stranglehold on transport in Cameroon, despite the government's best efforts.
00:20 Some routes cross the territory of the Pygmies, a people of Central Africa.
17:30 When goods transports have accidents, villagers loot the cargo
19:18 The loaders in the basalt mines work until they're exhausted, and even the children there have to work in the quarries to go to school.
23:49 With the limited means available, the Clandos are forced to drive with cars fit for the scrap heap.
29:59 Overloaded vans are also subject to road problems.
35:35 Mireille works for an NGO trying to preserve the Pygmé people who live close to nature in the equatorial forests.
41:33 Some mountain towns are inaccessible during the rainy season.
49:02 Even the region's capital has become a ghost town as the population flees.

The Most Extreme Theme Park In The World

TOP 10 Most Extreme Places on Earth

TOP 10 Most Extreme Places on Earth The Danakil desert is located in Ethiopia. Its soil consists of burning salt, sulfuric acid and volcanic rocks - all together this makes it the most uninhabited and unsuitable place on the globe. The landscape is dominated by yellow and orange colors, and outwardly the desert resembles more like another planet. But in any case, life is practically absent in it, because it is a real boiling pot of salt and acid.

The hottest place is recognized Death Valley in the United States of America, in the state of California. It has the highest temperature. It comes down to the fact that tourists just fry eggs on the ground. Records of temperature broke the mark of 54 degrees Celsius. She was spotted on June 30, 2013.
However, an absolute record was set in the Iranian desert Dasht-Lut - as much as 70 °C, this was done back in 2005. At this temperature, migratory birds seen above her were dying from the unbearable heat. However, it is Death Valley that is considered the hottest place, since it owns the number of the hottest days.

But the coldest place is unconditionally considered Vostok Station, which is located in the center of Antarctica. This is the former station of the Soviet Union, created to study the mainland. It was there that on July 21, 1983, a temperature of minus 89 degrees was recorded, and it is the lowest recorded by the World Meteorological Organization.

Another record of Antarctica is the driest place. In the Dry Valleys, it has not rained for more than two million years. Many mistakenly give this title to the Sahara or Atacama, which is located in Chile, but it is the Dry Valleys that are the record holders. They are located at an altitude of more than 4000 meters above sea level. There is not even snow, the air is so dry. It is also the quietest place in the world.

And in another category, Antarctica is a champion: on its territory is the most windy place. This is the Bay of the Commonwealth, where the wind speed reaches 240 kilometers per hour. Walking against the wind is one of the impossible. In the winter months, this speed is constantly kept, but the average annual speed is only 80 kilometers per hour. The data is stored in the Guinness Book of Records and the National Geographic Atlas.

Mawsynram Village in India is recognized as the wettest point on Earth. It is located in the state of Meghalaya, and more precisely - in the Khashi mountains and is located at an altitude of 1430 meters above sea level, valley is rich in waterfalls, famous for lush vegetation. According to scientists, so much rain falls in a year that the famous statue of Christ in Rio de Janeiro, reaching 30 meters in height, would be knee-deep in the water. Their total number fluctuates around 1100-1200 centimetres.

The city of Aomori in Japan is the most snowy area. About 792 centimeters of snow falls annually in it. The period of snowfall falls on November - April. In the city, entertainment is popular. Driving in a car - you may get the impression that you are moving between the real glaciers. The suburb looks like a boundless snowy desert. Almost 300 thousand inhabitants live in Aomori, and they perfectly put up with snow.

Everest is the absolute record holder for height among mountains. This is not only an admiration for the height and beauty of the mountains, but also a danger even to physically strong people. Above 8000 meters above sea level, the death zone begins. The pressure is so low that not everyone can handle it. The total height of Everest is 8848 meters.

Among the volcanoes, Kilauea is most active. It is located in Hawaii. Many of the volcanoes on the planet do not sleep, but it is Kilauea that regularly makes itself felt. Since the 1980s, he has been constantly erupting. This elevates him to one of the longest acting. Scientists expect a new eruption in the near future.

In the end, Bouvet Island is the most isolated. The uninhabited island became known to mankind as early as 1739 as a result of a French expedition. It is located in the South Atlantic and belongs to Norway. Almost 93% of the total area is covered by glaciers. The nearest ground point - Queen Maud Land in Antarctica is more than 1000 kilometers.

Most Extreme And Isolated Home In The World

In Iceland there is a small island a few miles from the coast called Ellidaey Island. Photographs surfaced on the internet a little while ago with a small dot that looked like a structure. People were immediately intrigued and started doing a little research on this lonely island. It turns out that the island was inhabited by 5 families over 300 years ago. The last permanent inhabitants left the island around 1930 and the only thing left was one single house. The families sustained themselves by hunting puffins, fishing, and raising cattle. There has been a lot of speculation as to who owns the house now. Many have said the island was given to singer Bjork as a gift. Or that a secret billionaire has purchased the island and now lives there. None of these are true. In fact, the house serves as a shelter for people who still hunt on the island today. Nobody lives there but it provides a safe haven for those who travel to the magical and solitary island. This looks like one of the loneliest places in the world. It looks like for a few weeks at a time this place would be paradise.
