A peaceful walk around Loloata Island near Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea in May 2020. Loloata Private Island Resort is located on this small island. It doesn't take much more than an hour to walk the circumference of the whole island. The birds you see in this video are Victoria crowned pigeons, which are the largest pigeons in the world.

পাপুয়া নিউগিনিতে আজ আমাদের তৃতীয় দিন। আজ শেষবারের মতো কিছু দেখবো।
প্রায় ৬শ দ্বীপ নিয়ে গড়ে ওঠা পাপুয়া নিউ গিনি দ্বীপপুঞ্জের একটা দ্বীপও না দেখে ফেরত আসব, তা হয় না। কিন্তু স্থানীয় অধিবাসীদের বসতি গড়া সমুদ্র বেস্টিত পাহাড়ি দ্বীপে যাবার সাধ্য আমাদের নাই। আমাদের মত তথাকথিত সভ্যদের কাছে তারা নিতান্ত হিংস্র বলে আমাদের মনে হয়। তাই আমরা একটা বিকল্প পথ বেছে নেই।
জানা গেলো যে লোলোয়াতা নামের একটা দ্বীপকে পর্যটকদের জন্য রিসোর্ট বানিয়ে রাখা হয়েছে। আজ সেই দ্বীপ অভিমুখে যাত্রা করেছে বাংলাদেশী পর্যটকের দল।
পোর্ট মর্সবি থেকে এর দূরত্ব পনেরো কিলোমিটারের মতো। একসময় নাকি কলার ভেলায় চড়ে পিএনজির স্থানীয় বাসিন্দারা এই দ্বীপে যেতো। এখন এসেছে ইঞ্জিনের বোট। প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরের শান্ত জলরাশি মাড়িয়ে, দূরে ছড়িয়ে ছিটিয়ে থাকা ৬০০ দ্বীপের কয়েকটা দেখতে দেখতে পর্যটকেরা উল্লসিত হয়ে পড়েন। তাদের অপেক্ষা সামনের লোলোয়াতা দ্বীপ রিসোর্ট।
উনিশ শ’ তিয়াত্তর সালে অস্ট্রেলিয়ান এক ব্যবসায়ী পানির দামে বারো শ’ মিটার লম্বা আর ৩ শ’ মিটার প্রস্থের এই দ্বীপটি কিনে নিজের জন্য একটা হলিডে হোম বানিয়েছিলেন। মাঝে মাঝে তিনি নিজে এখানে এসে পরিবার নিয়ে থাকতেন।
পরে নব্বইয়ের দশক থেকে ধীরে ধীরে তিনি এটাকে বাণিজ্যিক ব্যবহারের জন্য উপযোগী করে ফেলেন এবং কয়েক বছর আগে এটাকে একটা ৫ তারকা রিসোর্টের রূপ দেন। নাম দেন – একপাহাড়ি রিসোর্ট। স্থানীয় মতু ভাষায় লোলোয়া মানে পাহাড় আর তা মানে এক। লোলোয়াতা- মানে এক পাহাড়।
মিনিট বিশেকের মাথায় আমরা দ্বীপটির দেখা পাওয়া গেলো।
ইঞ্জিন বোট এসে নামে লোলোয়াতা রিসোর্টের জেটিতে। এখান থেকে নেমে ৫০ মিটার হেটে যেতে হবে রিসোর্টে।
এমনিতে এই রিসোর্টটি অনেক কোম্পানী দিনভর নানা রকমের মিটিং-সেমিনার-সম্মেলন করার জন্যও ভাড়া নেয়।
রিসোর্টট অস্ট্রেলিয়ান কোম্পানীর হলেও এখানে কাজ করেন স্থানীয়রাই। চমৎকার পেশাদারিত্ব তাদের আচরনে।
আছে খোলামেলা রিসেপশন কাউন্টার, লবি। ৪ তলা আবাসিক হোটেল।
শুধু তাই না সাগরের উপর মাচা বানিয়ে কতগুলো টং ঘরও বানিয়ে রাখা আছে আবাসিক হোটেলের অংশ হিসাবে। একটা উচু মানের রিসোর্টে যা যা থাকার দরকার সবই আছে এখানে। মিঠাপানির স্বাদ নেবার জন্য যে সুইমিং পুলটা বানানো তা খুবই নান্দনিক।
এই রিসোর্টের অন্যতম প্রধান বৈশিষ্ঠ এর এক কিলোমিটার পরিধি বরাবর ট্র্যাকিং এর জায়গা। অনেক পর্যটকই এখানে আসে এই পাথুরে পাহাড়টির চার পাশ ধরে হাটা বা দৌড়ানোর জন্য।
অনেক পর্যটকই এই রিসোর্টে এসে নানা রকমের জলজান নিয়ে নানা জলকেলিও করেন। আমাদের সাথে আসা রমনীদের চারজনকে দেখি মনের আনন্দে এই মহাসাগরে অবগাহন হরে সমুদ্রস্বাদ নিতে ব্যাকুল হয়ে পড়েছেন।
এই এক পাহাড়ি রিসোর্টের অনেক কিছুই আমাদের আর দেখা হয় না।
আমরা লাঞ্চ সারি। বিল হাতে পেয়ে টের পাওয়া গেলো, জায়গাটা যথেস্ট ব্যায়বহুল। একটা বিফ বার্গার সাথে কোল্ড ড্রিং এবং সামান্য অনুষঙ্গ। তাতে জন প্রতি বিল হয়েছে বাংলাদেশি টাকায় ৫ হাজার টাকার মতো।
আমরা দ্রুতই বিল মিটিয়ে পোর্ট মর্সবির দিকে রওয়ানা হই।
শুনেছি বাংলাদেশী একদল ব্যবসায়ী এখানে দাপটের সাথে বানিজ্য বসতি গড়ে তুলেছেন। আমরা আজ সেখানেই যাব
