कारगिल युद्ध में भारतीय सूरमाओं की गाथा सुनाने वाला ये हाल आफ फेम पर्यटकों का सिर गर्व से ऊंचा कर देता है। कारगिल युद्ध के आकर्षण से पर्यटक यहां जाये बिना रह नहीं पाते हैं। टूरिस्ट सर्किट पर महत्वपूर्ण पड़ाव यह हॉल आफ फेम देशभक्ति के सार को प्रदर्शित करता है। भारतीय सैनिकों की बहादुरी और उनकी साहसिक उपलब्धियों का बखान करता है। जैसे ही आप ओपी विजय गैलरी से गुजरेंगे तो वहां आपको कारगिल युद्ध में इस्तेमाल किए गए हथियार दिख जाएंगे। सियाचिन ग्लेशियर और अन्य स्थानों पर पहने जाने वाली युद्ध की ड्रेस देखते हैंए तो आप गर्व से फूले नहीं समायेंगे। सैनिकों द्वारा उनके परिवारों को लिखे गए पत्रए इस क्षेत्र में लड़े गए युद्धों के दौरान ली गई तस्वीरें और कारगिल युद्ध पर 30 मिनट की डॉक्यूमेंट्रीए कुछ ऐसे आकर्षण हैंए जो पर्यटकों को अपनी ओर खींच ही लेते हैं। इस भवन की दूसरी मंजिल पर भारतीय सेना द्वारा बंदूकों और अन्य युद्धक शस्त्रों को पाकिस्तान सेना के साथ टकराव के दौरान प्रदर्शन के रूप में रखा गया है। संग्रहालय में एक स्मारिका की दुकान भी है। हॉल को एक संग्रहालय के अंदर बनाया गया हैए जिसे भारतीय सेना द्वारा उन सैनिकों के सम्मान में बनाया गया थाए जो इस क्षेत्र में लड़े गए विभिन्न युद्धों के दौरान शहीद हुए थे।
Hall of Fame
Introduction
Hall of Fame is a museum constructed by the Indian Army in memory of the brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives defending the motherland in the Indo-Pak wars. The Hall of Fame museum is located on the Leh-Kargil Road, about 4km from the city of Leh. It stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made by our soldiers to ensure the safety and security of our country.
Things to see inside Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame museum, consisting of two stories, is divided into various sections which contain several displays. In the upper floor, there is a section named OP Vijay Gallery. Here, you can see the various kinds of weapons used in the Kargil war, along with the various arms and ammunition captured by the Indian Army during the war. On the same floor, in yet another section, various kinds of apparel and amenities used by the Indian Army in the Siachen region have also been displayed. Some of these show the pictures of army posts on the glacier, living accommodation of the troops and the training process of the troops on ice walls, besides others.
If you head to another section of the same ground floor, you will find the pictures of Kargil War on the walls. The pictures provide an elaborate and fascinating account of how the Indian Army fought the war. There is also a wall named Lest We Forget which displays the photographs of those soldiers who laid down their lives defending our nation. It's a very moving sight to come across and reminds you of the enormous sacrifices made by our soldiers to ensure that our country is safe and secure from foreign aggression at all times.
On the same ground floor, there is also a projection room where you can watch a documentary on Operation Vijay. One particular moving sight on this floor meets you in the form of a frame on a wall named The Last Post. This was the letter written by Captain Vijayant Thapar to his parents some days before he attained martyrdom. Upon reading the letter, you are overcome by a profound sense of grief and pride, while your eyes well up with tears. You are reminded of the bravery and exemplary courage displayed by our soldiers while performing their service in the line of duty.
On the ground floor, there is a section which displays the history, culture and other associated facts with Ladakh. It also consists of a souvenir shop where you can buy several items including t-shirts, caps, coffee mugs, and pashmina shawls, among others. You can also get a photo shoot clad in the Ladakhi attire in photoshop and get the prints after paying a small amount of money.
Opening and Closing time
The Hall of Fame museum remains open from 9 A.M to 1 P.M. and from 2 P.M. to 7 P.M.
Entry Fee
You need to purchase an entry ticket of Rs. 25 per person. For photography inside the museum, you need to pay an additional Rs. 50.
How to Reach
Hall of Fame museum is located on Leh-Kargil Road about 4km away from Leh city. From the Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, The Hall of Fame is located at a distance of approximately 2.1km.
Special Note
A statue of a serene-appearing Lord Buddha stands in front of the Hall of Fame with a message that reads, It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell. The message has a very deep meaning and conveys one of the most important lessons for mankind.

Tourism and hospitality are responsible for approximately 8% of global emissions, and the impacts of climate change are increasingly being seen at destination level. This affects not only communities and the natural environment but also the quality of the tourism product itself, impacting on consumer confidence.
Learning from each other and working collaboratively will be vital to addressing these issues. In this 1-hour webinar we provide practical guidance on climate action planning and implementation for accommodation providers, and hear from businesses already taking action to provide insight and inspiration.
