Le Vanuatu est encore bien protégé du tourisme de masse, et reste donc un endroit qui regorge encore d'authenticité, ce qui commence à se faire rare dans notre monde. Je n'ai jamais rencontré un peuple aussi souriant et aussi heureux, ils n'ont rien et sont prêts à tout te donner le plus naturellement possible ; ça semble incroyable de nos jours !

Les îles de Vanuatu (anciennement les Nouvelles Hébrides)
Cette île paradisiaque est entourée par les eaux cristallines de l'océan Pacifique Sud et protégée par des étendues de récifs coralliens qui offrent une expérience de plongée avec masque et tuba à ne pas manquer. Comme le Vanuatu se trouve carrément au sommet du Cercle de feu du Pacifique, des tremblements de terre peuvent survenir mais sont si petits qu'ils passent inaperçus. Toutes les deux semaines, vous en obtenez un petit que certaines personnes remarquent. En Bislama, on l'appelle un 'kraon i shekshek (moulu, il secoue). Une fois que vous avez été là assez longtemps, vous «sentirez» une seconde avant que la terre commence à bouger. Si les habitants ne sont pas inquiets, vous ne devez pas être.

Most visitors to Vanuatu arrive at the nation’s capital, Port Vila, situated on the main island of Efate. Vila, as it’s affectionately known, sits at the edge of a magnificent natural harbor filled with corals and sea life.
Luganville is the second largest city in Vanuatu. Its population is 16,312. The city is called Santo by people from Vanuatu's northern islands, who use Luganville as their big city. It is called Kanal by rural residents of the large island of Espiritu Santo on which the city lies.
ENGLISH is spoken very fluently by all, so no need to worry!
As with so many South Pacific ports, Vila is very laid back, where you can do as little, or as much as YOU like! - Leave your designer labels at home, and slide on some sandles or rubber 'thongs' as we call them in Australia (for FEET, not underwear!), and slow down to island time!
Just a ten-minute drive from port Vila, is Ekasup Cultural Village, where proud villagers are keen to talk about their centuries-old customs, crafts, music & stories.
From Port Vila, you can, if you choose, take a short 50-minute flight to Espiritu Santo. At the island’s sleepy capital Luganville, stock up on supplies at the markets, before venturing off to explore the island’s natural wonders.
After exploring mainland Santo, visit the islands off its southern coast, such as Aore Island, Bokissa Island and Malo Island.
Also just a short 45-minute flight south from Port Vila, Tanna Island is fringed with beaches ranging from pure white to black volcanic sands. Many of the hillside villages on Tanna remain largely unaffected by the trappings of the modern world. Feel the earth shake on Mt. Yasur, one of the world’s most active and accessible volcanoes!
Having experiencing the warmth & generosity of Vanuatu’s people, it’s easy to feel that Vanuatu could be one of richest places on earth!
