MSG Sphere at the Venetian Las Vegas construction video - Oct 2020
Major construction work continues on MSG Sphere at The Venetian, where crews just reached a critical milestone, completing a series of the project’s heaviest lifts to date. Using the DEMAG CC-8800, the 4th largest crawler crane in the world, construction crews erected two massive 240-ton steel girders that sit 140-feet off the ground and span the length of the venue’s eventual stage.
• To create these massive steel girders, two 137-foot long, 120-ton U-shaped steel tubs were positioned in late September, and last week the top halves, two more 120-ton steel tubs, were hoisted 140-feet in the air and secured into place
• These girders will now each be filled with 300-cubic yards of concrete, providing support needed to complete the superstructure and also help bear the weight of the venue’s 13,000-ton steel domed roof

On a June 2019 business trip to Las Vegas, I met Jeremy Aguero, principal analyst with Applied Analysis, at the under-construction Las Vegas Raiders Stadium.
Construction on the NFL stadium is slated to be complete in summer 2020, with the Raiders playing the 2020 fall season there. Jeremy, who was involved in the project from the start, gives us an overview of the impact on Las Vegas, including the destination's events scene.

NDOT News: We're laying down the asphalt on US 50! June 2019
The U.S. 50 Phase 2 widening project adds a key link to one of the most traveled corridors in Lyon County. The project will help reduce crashes, increase safety for the traveling public, provide connectivity and mobility by designing concrete High-T intersections at county roads. Adding these elements on U.S. 50 will help control access to provide safety to the travelling public, which is similar to the U.S. 50 Phase 1 Project.
The scope of the project is to design and construct a new four-lane divided highway which will connect to the previously-constructed Phase 1 widening project. The project will begin at Roys Road and end at the junction of U.S. 50 and U.S. 95A in Silver Springs. The design will also consist of intersection lighting, drainage improvements, and signage.

Replacing the stop condition at U.S. 50 and U.S. 95A in Silver Springs with a new single lane concrete roundabout
Extending the US 95A northbound truck climbing lane
Landscape and Aesthetics improvements
Connection to the existing USA Parkway roundabout
New fencing and cattle guards to control wildlife from entering the new corridor
Frontage road connection to county roads

Aug 2019 UPDATE - FUTURE AZ Loop 202 - South Mountain Freeway - 59th Ave and Salt River Alignments
Today we finally get to see the video I made about 59th Ave in the west valley. It took me a while to get it edited and work with the new 4K files but it's finally here! This was actually filmed the same day as the Pecos update but I just could not get it edited in time.
Here we actually get to see quite a few interchanges are actually completed on the 59th Ave and Salt River Alignments but the section of the Salt River segment near the center segment as well as the center segment seem to be behind schedule IMO. A lot has been done north of Elliot, but the work gets more sporadic south of there. I believe that the 59th Ave and Salt River portions will be completed on time, and possibly even the Pecos alignment, but I do not see the center segment connecting the two being completed in time. A couple of interchanges are still under construction and not as far along as I would've liked to have seen, and the roadbed was not in place whatsoever. This is probably due to the extra blasting needed for the South Mountain itself.
This very well could be the final update I make on 59th Ave until it is completed at it is very much out of my realm of normal commuting. Never say never though...
