Barceloneta and Manati, Puerto Rico -Sightseeing. Paseo de Alas, Antigua Central La Plazuela

On this excursion we visit the towns of Barceloneta and Manati, Puerto Rico. In Barceloneta we check out the incredible Antigua Central Azucarera La Plazuela and super photogenic spot complete with a casa jibara!

Next we have lunch at Old West Town a fun, cowboy themed restaurant that is currently at 50% capacity and so can welcome all people. We took so many fun pictures there as well and enjoyed some great mojitos and traditional Puerto Rican food.

Just around the block walking from there is the Paseo de los Veteranos where the was a fun wing swing, wing paintings and the huge Hector Bandera on the corner.

Then we stopped by the famous Paseo de las Alas and incredible art installation on a main road where you can take pictures with various painted wings.

Then we were on our way to Manati. Our first stop in Manati was at the town plaza where we saw the incredible building of the old Plaza del Mercado. Just around the corner was an old abandoned building and one of the trendy tourist chairs.

Our day was not finished in Manati as we had some beaches to check out...so stay tuned for those in an upcoming video!

Bizarre Beauty! Incredible Abandoned Cave Park in Camuy, Puerto Rico, plus la Iglesia de Piedra

Cueva de Camuy We visit Camuy and stop at the Iglesia de Piedra before trying to find a cave that's supposed to be in the area. What we found was just bizarre and incredible! This cave apparently used to be part of a park with a pool and even go-carts and dinosaur children equipment that has since been abandoned to the elements. The cave is just amazing and huge. It feels almost like you're walking into the mouth of a shark! A strange and beautiful adventure!

Then we head to Royal Isabela, a large private golf course and resort where we explore the grounds a little and have lunch. Next we see the old ruins of Ermita de San Antonio de la Tuna and with drone footage we can really see how it was built in the form of the cross. We also drive around a little and see the plaza, the Indian Head Face (Cacique Mabodamaca) and a few of the beaches. One of the highlights was a cold coconut (Coco Frio) cut fresh with a machete by the beach.

Punta Guaniquilla Reserve Cabo Rojo -Hacienda Ruins, Lagoon, Hidden Pirate Cave & even a Speed Boat!

We had quite the adventure in Punta Guaniquilla Reserve in Cabo Rojo. I had no idea there was so much to be found here. I felt like Indiana Jones exploring this area. There are lost Hacienda Ruins called Hacienda La Romana, a cool boardwalk or tablado that crosses a marshland, a lagoon with jagged volcanic rocks, a bird sanctuary and Pirate Cofresi's famous cave.

When I entered the cave I felt even more that I was in some sort of movie set especially the way the light hit the wall in just a perfect way to illuminate a hidden tunnel with squeaking bats. We got lost on the rocks and then found ourselves in the Garden of Eden and a rainstorm. We ended the day at Buye with a special surprise boat ride. What an awesome day in Puerto Rico!
