Our mission to try the best street food in Morocco has taken us to the coastal city of Agadir. Our first stop on our crazy Moroccan street food tour was to try the popular Moroccan food of hargma. This classic dish is made up of slow cooked beef trotters in a rich broth full of chickpeas, definitely a rich dish to start the day.

Being on the coast, we had to try fresh fish in Agadir, so we tasted the popular Agadir street food of freshly grilled sardines. Afterwards, we continued our Moroccan food tour to explore Souk El Had, Africa’s largest indoor souk. This souk is massive, full of Moroccan street food, shopping, fruits and veggies, you name it this souk has it! While we were there, we sampled some of the Agadir street food, like za3za3 and briouats. Africa’s largest indoor souk was full of many tastes, flavours, and deliciously yummy treats.

The last stop on our crazy street food tour in Agadir, Morocco was at a shop near the souk that does some crazy tagines. We stopped in for a Moroccan cow brain tajine cooked by the chef Rachid. As far as foods to eat in Morocco go, this is one you must try! The Moroccan cow brain is fried up then finished in the tagine with fresh bread, a tasty and flavourful dish.

We hope you enjoy exploring Agadir with us on this crazy street food tour in Agadir, Morocco, trying Moroccan cow brain tagine and exploring Africa’s largest indoor souk. Stay tuned next week for some more food adventures!

BEST FOOD IN SOUK EL HAD - AGADIR, MOROCCO FOOD TOUR

Souk El Had is one of the best places to eat quality, traditional food in Agadir, Morocco. There is something for everyone, meat lovers and vegetarians, in this special place but it helps to have the insider's perspective in order to know which restaurants to choose. Ayoub has worked in this Souk for over 15 years so he knows the restaurant owners well and the best places to eat. Our favorite dishes here are the White Fish Tagine with Vegetables (60 MAD, $6), Cow Feet with Chickpeas (25 MAD, $2.50), and Charcoal Grilled Sardines (12 MAD, $1.20). These prices may vary depending on which restaurant you choose. There is a unique energy in the Souk that makes you feel you are truly in Morocco. They are the hole in the wall spots you dream of eating at that have some of the best food in Agadir, Morocco. Souk El Had is definitely a great place to get the true culinary experience of Morocco.

The medina of Fes is quite the sight to behold, full of vendors and shopping, leather and spices, street food and popular Moroccan foods galore, it’s something for the senses. Today we had a mission, however, to taste some of the most extreme Moroccan street food in Fes, and boy did we ever!

We started our food tour of Fez, Morocco at a local barbeque shop grilling up meat, offal, and cow heart. The cow heart he prepared was extremely large! We tasted some flavourful meats and extreme dishes, we couldn’t get over the size of the cow heart!

Walking around looking for flavourful, tasty, and delicious street foods in Fes was an easy task. We tasted some of the most extreme Moroccan street food in Fes, trying snails, camel spleen stuffed with beef, lamb, and chicken, and dried meats.

On our food tour of Fez, Morocco we stopped at a steamed sheep head stall, where we had half a sheep head, and we ate everything! Eating a steamed sheep head can be daunting because it looks back at you, but the sheep head meat is extremely tender and flavourful, so worth the stares.

We rounded out our extreme food tour in Fes trying the famous Fassi dish of pigeon pastilla. This traditional extreme Moroccan street food was on our bucket list to try, and it was even more tasty than we imagined. This needs to be on your top list of foods to eat in Fes, Morocco.

We hope you enjoy checking out some of the most extreme Moroccan street food in Fes, coming along with us while we eat sheep head and cow heart, and many other interesting and yummy foods. This was one extreme food tour of Fez, Morocco. Stay tuned next week for more street food adventures in Morocco!

CRAZY $10 Moroccan Street Food Tour in Marrakesh Morocco!

Welcome to Marrakesh Morocco! In this Marrakech Morocco Vlog, I take you with me as I discover the city of Marrakesh and take you on the BEST Moroccan street food tour! But, the twist is that I am challenging myself to try all the best Moroccan food in Marrakesh for under $10, or 90 Moroccan Dirham. I hope you enjoy my Marrakesh Morocco Vlog and learn about the delicious street food of Morocco and the best food to try in Marrakech!

To start off my Marrakech Morocco Travel Vlog, I walk into the Marrakesh Medina in search of a traditional Moroccan breakfast. My first stop on my Marrakech Street Food Tour was to a small stand to get some Bessara, which is a traditional Moroccan fava bean soup. After pouring in the soup, the vendor added a heavy dose of oil and the Bessara is served with a pita bread and, of course, a traditional Moroccan sweet mint tea. After eating as much as I could of the Bessara (it was delicious, just so heavy), I continued walking around the Marrakech Medina. The next stop on my Marrakech Morocco Vlog and my Morocco Street Food Tour was to a try a crepe! The Moroccan Crepe was delicious, though quite a bit thicker than the French crepe. If you visit Marrakesh Morocco, or anywhere in Morocco for that matter, you will find tons of pomegranate juice stands, and after 2 street food stops, I knew it was time to quench my thirst with a local Moroccan pomegranate juice. So, the next stop on my Marrakesh Morocco Vlog, and my $10 challenge in Marrakech, was to get some freshly squeezed pomegranate juice and, oh boy, was it good!

After my pomegranate juice I continued to roam the Medina until I was ready to continue my Morocco Street Food Tour in Marrakesh Morocco for lunch! The next stop on my Marrakech Street Food tour was to try some traditional Moroccan tagine/tajine. Tagine is perhaps the most popular dish in Morocco and is a must try! Tagine/Tajine is the way the dish is cooked and the pot that is used to cook the ingredients, so there are many types of Moroccan Tagine. No Morocco Street Food Tour is complete without a tagine! After eating a delicious Moroccan Tajine, the next stop on my Marrakesh Morocco Vlog was just a few steps away to a local juice spot where you can get a mix of fresh fruit and vegetable juices for a great price!

The next stop on my Morocco Street Food Tour and one of the most popular Moroccan foods was to a local stand in the Marrakech Medina that sells Kefta. Kefta is a traditional Moroccan dish of minced meat. Next on my Marrakech Morocco Vlog and the next top on my Morocco street food tour was to try some Moroccan doughnuts, also known as Sfenj! These Moroccan donuts were absolutely delicious, I even got 2! The dough is fried fresh and then doused in honey for a sweet flavor. The Moroccan doughnuts were also great for my $10 challenge in Marrakesh!

After sunset, it was time to explore the main square in Marrakesh Morocco, Djemaa el Fna, which at night turns into a huge market where you can try all types of Moroccan food! No Marrakech Morocco Travel Guide and Marrakech Street Food Tour is complete without visiting Djemaa el Fna! The first stop at night on my Marrakesh Morocco Vlog was to a vendor in the Djemaa al Fna square to get some Moroccan snail soup, also called Ghoulal or Babbouche. It was my first time ever eating snails! After eating a few snails, the next stop on my Moroccan Street Food Tour in Marrakesh Morocco was to try some local Moroccan soup called Harira Soup. Harira soup is a tomato based soup with chickpeas, and was super tasty! After the Harira soup, I continued on indulging in Moroccan food with a pita sandwich and capping the night off with some spiced tea and sweets!

Exploring Marrakesh Morocco through a street food tour is potentially the best way to get to know this wild city! I hope you enjoyed my Marrakech Morocco Vlog and my Morocco Street Food Tour!

We start the day eating Bessara (Moroccan fava bean soup) with Moroccan mint tea. Then we head into the spice market, buy some dried fruits and stop for a fresh juice at Jemaa el-Fna where Eamon decides to try life as a local for a few hours. Just as we felt the lunchtime hunger setting in we found ourselves in a very local area of the Marrakech called Tala where we try lentils and fava beans with... BREAD ???? ! One of our favourite stops was a visit to the community bakery and from there we tried a freshly squeezed pomegranate juice. At lunch, we tried vegetable tagine, couscous, a bunch of salads and flatbread with chocolate and honey for dessert. Before dinner, we stopped for Moroccan desserts. In the evening, we hit the night market Jemaa el-Fna to see if we can find the most special man from our time in Morocco in 2020. Eamon, Lee and I met Happy and his team and I was so happy to reconnect ????

Abandoning our van in Africa
Flying to Africa to rescue our abandoned van
Back to van life Africa (difficult beginnings)

We're Eamon and Bec, a Canadian couple who lived and traveled full-time in our self converted Sprinter Van for three years!! When the pandemic hit in 2020 we made the difficult decision to abandon our van in Africa and fly home to Canada. We ended up living at a cabin in the Canadian wilderness! But now that restrictions have eased we've made the trip back to Morocco to resume van life in Africa!! It's going to take some time to readjust to tiny living but we are SO excited to be back to van life!

Number 6. VISIT THE MEMOIRE D'AGADIR
Visit the Memoire d'Agadir
If you are wondering what to do in Agadir, definitely visit the Memoire d'Agadir. This small museum on the edge of the Jardin de Olho tells about the terrible earthquake that hit Agadir in 1960. You won't find any high-tech displays. Instead, there are newspaper clippings and photos that explain what happened and how it killed more than 17,000 people and destroyed most of the city. The museum also shows how Agadir has changed since the 1920s. It is in a quiet garden with palm trees and cacti.

Number 5. SHOP IN THE SOUK EL HAD D'AGADIR
Shop in the Souk El Had d'Agadir
Souk El Had is open every day except Monday, so you can take in its colours, smells, and sights. It's one of the biggest markets in Morocco, with about 6,000 stalls spread out over more than 13ha (32 acres). You can enter through one of 12 gates and look around stores filled with everything from spices to piles of colourful fruits and vegetables, clay tagines, handmade rugs, and home goods. Even though some sellers have set prices, most of the time you can negotiate.

Number 4. EAT AT LES BLANCS
Eat at Les Blancs
Visit the Spanish-Mediterranean restaurant Les Blancs if you want to eat while taking in a beautiful view. This popular restaurant is on Agadir Beach, right in front of the marina. It has terraces where you can sit outside and watch the sea. Fresh seafood and tapas are on the menu, and there are even 10 different kinds of paella. The staff is known for their friendly service, which brings in both locals and yachters.

Number 3.RELAX IN A HAMMAM
Relax in a hammam
A must thing to do in Agadir is relax in a hammam. A trip to a hammam is a great way to get a taste of Moroccan culture. It's a sacred ritual for the people who live there, and they usually go there once a week to get a deep clean and meet new people. Open your pores with steam, and then get ready for a deep body scrub with black-olive-oil soap, which will leave you feeling completely clean. If you want a more luxurious experience, go to the Argan Palace, where you can choose a private hammam followed by a relaxing massage.

Number 2.HIT THE BEACH
Hit the beach
Agadir is the most popular beach town in Morocco. It has a long stretch of honey-colored sand that is great for sunbathing. The beach at nearby Essaouira is almost always beaten up by the Atlantic winds, but this one is protected and the waves break far out to sea. During the busy summer months, the beach will be clean and there will be lifeguards on duty. Plan a boat trip along the coast, sign up for surf lessons, and eat a meal on the busy promenade with a view of the water.

Number 1.AGADIR OUFELLA
Agadir Oufella
You can hike up to the Agadir Oufella ruins, also called the Kasbah, which are on a hilltop and look out over the fishing port and beach of the city. Explore what's left of this old fortress. It was built in 1540 to protect Agadir from Portuguese attacks, but an earthquake in 1960 destroyed it. Even though only the crumbling walls and the entrance portal are left of the site, it still has beautiful views of Agadir at sunset.

BEST BREAKFAST IN AGADIR, MOROCCO - Moroccan Food Tour

You haven't visited Morocco until you have had a traditional Moroccan breakfast with mint tea, eggs, Batbout (Moroccan bread), Amlou, Honey, and Argan Oil. We've made it easier for you in this video with exact directions to our favorite hole in the wall spot in the Batoire neighborhood of Agadir, Morocco.

Insider's tip: Make sure to get there early (before 11am) if you want to enjoy their delicious harira, traditionally ate before breakfast to prep your stomach.

Our favorite dishes are the eggs with olives, tomatoes, peppers, and cheese served with a traditional Moroccan fluffy bread, Batbout, made fresh in the kitchen upon order. Additionally, we ate that same bread covered in butter, honey, argan oil and amlou (a Moroccan almond butter) for a delicious sweet treat. Whether you crave sweet or salty or both, there is an option for you as the Moroccans have mastered the art of different flavors and combinations. This place gives you a real taste of the Moroccan cuisine and also is not a place a lot of tourists know about so you will be sure to enjoy your meal with the locals!
